Inquisitor Question Time

Everyone has flaws or something that haunts them. What is your Inquisitor's biggest flaw? Or what is something that personally haunts them? Such as temper, depression, anxiety, an inability to commit, fear of attachment... things such as that.

(If anyone's here to answer? )

Second guessing decisions, overthinking things and accepting the burden of unavoidable / unforseeable defeat as a personal failure.  :(

Also, untrimmed toenails make her violent. :P

maybe it's silly for some people, but she's (and me as well) afraid of babies. she would never want to have one by herself. she'd rather take care of the flock of halla or the litter of mabaris instead of taking care of one baby (:

Amen to that! No babies for my Quizzy!

Cullen Skink is a very hearty soup, great for winter. The fish was a dominant flavor, but not too dominant. VERY light and creamy as well. I'd recommend it.

Well Elidri's got her terrible personality. She antagonises people. Not so bad when dealing with demons and blood mages, she wants to be antagonising them, but it's very bad when she's trying to get people on her side. This is mostly down her struggles with lying, even with lies of omission. She's also got that deep rooted fear of abominations. This may make her go a tad Meredith if she's pushed too far. Luckily, she probably won't have the red lyrium egging her on! ;)

And Esmerelda's highly entitled. And she's got quite the superiority complex too. She definitely hasn't forgotten her life as a noble before she was forced to join the Circle and she will never let anyone forget about it. She expects the respect as a Trevelyan that she deserves, and denying that will quickly anger her. Basically, she's still a bit of a petulent child. She thinks she's smarter than she is and she thinks herself a master of the Game, even if she's never actually played it, and she's likely to throw a tantrum. She holds grudges and makes them for the pettiest of things.

For my self-insert she'd be a bit clumsy and awkward, she'll day dreams a lot forgetting where she's supposed to go,this usually ends badly in Thedas...She also gets easily stressed, especially when haunted by nightmares of spiders and ruined books.(Not really but we'll...)

About Laurelin, my Dalish mage I'd say her biggest flaw is her tendancy to isolate herself and become apathetic towards some situations. Also she tends to be really secretive,I mean like really!

For Aidan, his biggest flaw is his arrogance and perhaps the tendancy to avoid problems using humour, sometimes being incapable to realise the severity of the situation.

I think my Inquisitors have quite many flaws...

Skye: Her gullible and naive nature gets her tricked sometimes so it's her biggest flaw. Her other flaws would be having her head in the clouds too much and not having her legs on the ground ^^

Valpur: She's sometimes too headstrong and untrusting to others, she knows herself to best so she wants to do too much herself. She's sometimes too blunt as well. I think her flaw that bothers her most is that people often see her differently than she is, like many see her unfriendly and serious although she's pretty friendly and laidback. So she kinda has that social incabality of showing her emotions and being understood.

Tamarin: He's often seen as selfish and cold person which are qualities he has so those are his flaws. He's also vulnerable inside but same time fears to open up and let people close, I think it's flaw that haunts him most: incabability to trust people.

Michal: He can be pretty not understanding sometimes and take some things without critic, for example Chantry's teachings. His stable believe in Andraste and Chantry is his flaw and weakness which makes him disregard other views and opinions of people who are outside of Chantry, dalish, Qunari etc. He's also sometimes blind of others suffering if it's not pointed to him, like nobleman (that he is) living in riches and not noticing how poor are suffering.

I love how confidently and fluidly he moves towards the war table, there's a real swagger to it... sexy beast. I mean, look at him in that first gif! (Watch his hand, it looks like he was gonna reach for a jug of ale and then decided against it at the last minute, LOL!)

I think I've already touched on my boy's main flaws...

He avoids responsibility where he can and he would like to avoid things he just doesn't want to do too; it's easier to simply do the things he wants, than to do all those serious things that can change the lives of other people outside of himself. He's also privileged. He's not without sympathy or empathy, but sometimes he just doesn't understand or connect with those who haven't grown up with everything they need in reach.

Hmm...

He can also run away from his own emotions at times. It's not quite the same as purposely hiding them, but he just doesn't want to deal with nasty emotions so he tries to ignore them and instead play nonchalant. Those emotions do catch up with him eventually, though, and the temper and breakdowns can be violent because of how much the emotions have been left to build over time.

I couldn't make an Inquisitor with a good sense of direction if I wanted to, because I'm going to be getting so lost. Hell, I got lost on the Wounded Coast. It made me greatly appreciate the joke about Hawke getting lost around the Wounded Coast.

Yes, especially on that mission where (I think it's) Maraas warns us about the Tal-Vashoth. I always go down the wrong road immediately after that conversation. And I have a pretty good sense of direction too!

Self-doubt.  She's honestly bemused, that everyone's looking to her for such an awesome leadership role.  She pretty much looks around constantly, wondering at those "followers" of hers as if which one might be better served in her own position of leader.  Why not Cassandra?  Why not Cullen?  She respects and admires the strength that others demonstrate, without any appreciation for her own.  It will be a process, before she grows into the role of Inquisitor.  And some part of her will constantly be waiting for the shoe to drop, so everyone knows she's not supposed to be "the one".

I'm back on Canada time! So maybe now my answers won't be tons of pages forward. :S

Delphine's biggest flaw is kinda also one of her strengths, which is her ability to keep moving forward. Except that she does it too much, in that her thought process after making a decision goes something like this--"Don't look back, just keep moving. Don't think about it, just move on. Don't dwell on things." And that's all well and good for smaller decisions, but not for the bigger things, like, "Go and save the Keep over the village" or, "30 people here will die so 100 people over there can live." Being able to accept the consequences of your decisions and move on is a good thing, but in order to do that you have to be able to stop and think about them. And Delphine doesn't stop, or at least, not for long enough for it all to set in. She has a tendency to focus only on the big picture and forget about the smaller details that make up that big picture (and I think this is because she was a noble who never had much to worry about in her life). That kind of stuff will build up and haunt her later when she has to come face to face with the smaller details, like having to go back and see what happened to Crestwood Village, for instance. And then that's when she'll start to second guess all of her other previous decisions as well as any future ones and she'll be paralyzed with guilt and anxiety until she either snaps herself out of it or someone else does.

As I write her, I'm starting to realize she might be a little depressed as well. She definitely has PTSD.

Oh, and she has this tendency to get belligerent and a little petulant when faced with something she doesn't want to do. Or stopped from doing something she actually wants to do. She can be a little spoiled. It comes from being the youngest and being a noble.

Auren: Well for Auren you would think it would be his temper, but that actually is just a manifestation of his fear. He is afraid of the world outside his clan, where he's spent all his life. He is going to be more bewildered and unsettled than he'd bargained for when the Keeper sends him out on this mission. He'll be miserable when Cass refuses to let him return home after the great disaster, so of course he'll react violently. So yeah, fear.

Kael: I would have to say an inability, or at least difficulty in, forming close friendships and experiencing empathy. While he is happy-go-lucky he is also rather amoral. Kind of like a classic faerie, I guess? He has his own code. He's something of a mage-scientist. I wonder if he'll discover his empathy and compassion in this game. Who knows.

Those are probably both traits I also share to some degree; hard to create characters you can't relate to :)
