I need to make myself feel better, so question time! Admittedly late...

Inquisitor Question Time

Everyone has flaws or something that haunts them. What is your Inquisitor's biggest flaw? Or what is something that personally haunts them? Such as temper, depression, anxiety, an inability to commit, fear of attachment... things such as that.

(If anyone's here to answer? )

Well...initially I had headcanoned that Gale burned down his parent's estate, killing his entire family, but that's probably not gonna work now.

In all honesty, Gale's biggest flaw is remorse. In the moment, he will act without hesitation or restraint, but those choices haunt him for years and years. Given that, Gale's biggest issue would be a demon of despair or a demon of remorse, as either would have more than enough ammo to kill him easily.

As I may have overstressed, Melaina is a selfish thrillseeker with a horrible habit of running away every time she encounters a problem. The idea of working through a difficult situation has never even occurred to her, it seems so much simpler to move on and start again. As such she has serious commitment issues and is outright hostile to the idea of any kind of permanent tie. The Inquisition is going to be the best and worst thing that's ever happened to her.

Part of her flaws I see in myself. Whilst I'm almost compulsively helpful (I gave away my lunch money to charity for years in school :/ the word no took a long time to enter my vocabulary and I still feel guilty) I tend to solve my problems by itnoring and avoiding them in any way possible. My partner has literally had to chase me down after arguments because my first instinct is to leave and not look back, even though I know that it's a really bad idea and I'll regret it later.

Virtual hugs to everyone who has opened up about themselves through their Inquisitors.  If any of these questions are uncomfortable for you, please feel no obligation to answer them! I love you all and the characters you're creating~  <3

I'm planning a 'Ragequisitor'.

She's someone with temper issues, holds grudges and reacts with hostility to anything resembling a personal inquiry. She perceives even the most casual remarks as people judging her (negatively). Basically, she's just looking for an excuse to get angry.

She's a character I use in many games to relieve frustrations from the real world where blowing a gasket is not acceptable. :)

These are actually pretty fun, and you ask some great questions.

What haunts Tempest is some major past trauma due to prolonged abuse by a templar, but I wouldn't consider that a flaw as it's not her fault.

Her major flaws would be a serious lack of self-confidence, a tendency to take too much personal responsibility for others' well-being that can become unintentionally overbearing, and she occasionally has an unfortunate ability to lie to herself and convince herself of what she wishes were true about situations rather than seeing what's real.

Inquisitor question time: Everyone has flaws or something that haunts them.

Lyrana Trevelyan, female warrior.

Lyrana used to be part of a Templar demon hunter squad. One of her worst experiences was an attack by a blood mage, that left her with a large scar on her face, and several of her squadmates dead. Everytime she looks in the mirror she sees how one side of her face is perfect and the other disfigured - or so she sees. Whilst confident in the field, she is awkward in social interaction as she hates being pitied. She grew her hair long to deliberately hide the scar.

She has no fashion sense and dresses for comfort, this will no doubt lead to problems with Vivienne.

I was wondering if it was the result of the torture scene. Devs have said that other advisors could be in that situation instead of Leliana...

Hmmm... I'm more inclined to say give her a name to make her seem less specific and more mysterious but it really depends on what you will be purposing her for. I would be more afraid to hear someone whisper "Shh... Syrinx is coming" only because a regal title gives a possible sense they may be benevolent... which may be what you're going for. Does that make sense? I'm having a hard time with my words due to distractions.

Oh no! If he gets hurt, my Inquisitor will flip tables. :(

(But not the war table because she wouldn't want to mess up the strategic plans. :P)

I thought he was just shifting back and forth on his feet? Though if injuries can affect them, that would be so cool. *-*

They've also said that other advisors might have a more successful result, though. I would think that the odds of Cullen being captured/tortured would be a lot lower because he'd have his soldiers and his anti-magic templar powers.

Oh man if Cullen did get tortured, my Inquisitor would lose it. :(

Anais is technically me as well...so...

Depression, emotional suppression, nightmares, and anxiety. She feels like she let her family down for being a mage - something they have fought against for generations. And since she is the sole survivor of what happens in Haven, she will have survivor's guilt and constantly think she could have saved someone somehow. There is also some underlying anger in her that is tapped into in a last ditch effort to survive if a situation turns bad; Anais is afraid of losing control of it because she doesn't want to hurt anyone.

Thanks to this song here, I have a new headcanon when it comes to something that haunts Anais. An older brother or cousin she was once close to is in the templars - they got into a huge fight over the war and how mages are treated, and he said to Anais that he would not hesitate to kill if he met her in battle. They met again later on the field, and he was holding mages hostage telling the leader of Anais' group to surrender if he wanted them to live. The leader was just going to leave, but Anais wouldn't have any of it. With help, Anais and the other mages were able to set the hostages free after a failed attempt at compromise. The majority of the templars following her brother/cousin had died in the skirmish, and he was left alone with his wounds, screaming that she was a just a weapon and a monster.

I love torturing my characters. *sips tea*

I know it's evil, but I'll have to resist sending him to be tortured out of spite  as it is, I'll likely be sending out Leliana a lot... Never really been a fan, plus it's payback for her naive racist remarks to my Wardens :P

I hope he's fine, but if they've been able to animate different walks for characters based on situations that may or may not happen (or even if he's limping because of Kirkwall or something), my mind will be blown. I'll be impressed enough if the possible hints we've heard of blushing being a thing turn out to be true.

That said, I think this is just... ambling or something. The way one walks when only going a few steps. Not a limp.

Mine would lose it too. I was amazed that in the Leliana version the Inquisitor talked to the Tevinter mage behind the torture....uh no way....no-one does that to one of my team, I'd storm into the room and kill everyone connected to the torture.

Hey make saving Cullen a quest in MP and suddenly the Cullenites will become expert players....

I think she's too soft for her own good. And she's definitely reckless at times. She also doesn't really like being a mage, since it was the reason to be sent away form her home, but she's learned to accept it as the years passed.
