WEIRD!! I don't see that! I see the description I pasted in. Right where it says "Impossible" for you.

 

Artemis, I get the "Impossible" too, the only logical explanation is that you are the chosen one and CAN potentially play a Dwarven Mage. It does say in the closing sentence "no known dwarf" can wield magic So Thedas just doesn't know about you yet .

I use Firefox but I clicked Dwarf, then onto Mage, then scrolled down some more and "Impossible" was there.

 

PAX looks like a busy schedule, here's hoping for some juicy details, the MP chat was a buzz but like many of us, it's really not my big interest, so I'd love to hear more about the SP game. Only time will tell I suppose.

So late to this party, but I am going to say that it's going to be hella hard for Cullen to win me over.

I played as a elven mage & hated the fact Cullen still hated mages and didn't mention my warden as a positive for mages simply cause she wasn't an Amell. And since I'll be playing as a mage next game, if I have to deal with Cullen being anti mage, he will survive!!!

From the looks of things, by the time DAI has swung around he's not so anti-mage anymore. While I doubt he'll ever be a hardcore pro-mage, judging by his character blurb, writer interview, and a short Cullen fanfic that David Gaider said was accurate, I'd say that he's at a stage in his life where he's realised that any sort of power (be it magic or other) can corrupt a person regardless of race or class.

It would have been really weird if he mentioned a random elf mage to Hawke, tbh. I mean the only reason he mentions Amell -- either Amell, male or female -- is because Hawke's related to 'em. Could have lead to a very amusing  "...Um. Okay, then?"  moment from Hawke if he did mention her, though!

If it makes you feel less sore on the subject, his crush was supposed to be added to his codex, I believe. There's a bug that prevents it from showing sometimes, though. DAII is rife with import bugs, sadly. D:

If he decides not to romance my character, I feel it will be less to do with the fact that she is a mage and more based on her actions or decisions. I get the impression he has moved beyond the mage hate thing .

Right now I'm just concerned he'll be race-gated against qunari. If it's Cullen or yet-unknown-LI, I just need someone who isn't a qunari for my qunari lady. I love Iron Bull, but he just won't suit her personality.

I just hope, given the potential length of the game, that the gates are known or at least hinted to in advance, I'd hate to invest a gazillion hours into the game and a particular coupling for it to be an unexpected dead end in the romance department, that would be a major downer for me

 

I understand, appreciate and respect that the romances have been written for the characters stories aswell as for some fanservice, I get on board about certain gates being introduced where they are deemed appropriate for that particular character, I just hope the writers haven't gone into over-kill mode on some of the potential gating

It's not worse than Awaking thankfully.. Even after staying with Alistair in DA:O, in DA:A, he treated me as though dead and my Imported Warden was Orlesian. O_o

They've really overhauled alot about Cullen since DA:O.. And even though sad his red hair was burnt golden in the wake of Meredith's crazy, I still have to admit he's looking pretty tasty. 

As for winning him over if a mage, I can always resort to the sexiest armor I can find, HEAVY PLATE CAN SUCK IT! 

I also do think he might be race gated against Tal Vasoth, simply cause he's never had good experience or exposure to them all that and a good Andrastan wouldn't dream of dating a heath perhaps?

It depends on what else is going on around I suppose.

My main quizzy probably wouldn't go talk to him anyway (she is painfully shy) but if she did and he said something like that she'd be like "oh, ok then :(" and slink back to her comfort corner. I don't really see their relationship moving at any great pace

 

I'd love to play a mage that even if the world is literally collapsing around their ears, if she wanted to talk....he WOULD talk or get a fireball to the ass (yes, fireballing his ass is my "thing" atm ).

I also need someone who isn't Qunari for my qunari ladies. I can't see Valpur or Skye getting along with Iron Bull at all since he's Qunari and spying them for Qunari which is big nope for them. I'm having my fingers crossed for both Cullen and Solas but I'm afraid one.. or both are going to be race-gated : /
