Is it weird that I'm overly excited about Cullen living in the tower? I don't know why that particular detail has captured my interest so much, but I just find it really quirky, lol. I love the idea of being able to access it by jumping from the battlements to get there quicker, it's the sort of stupid thing I/my me!Inquisitor would do.

Kinda feels like another little insight into his personality and another little quirk to give the Inquisitor, lol.

I have a feeling I'm going to spend the rest of my time waiting for DAI obsessing about Cullen in that tower.  I am already thinking how I can use it in the fanfic I'm working on.  I plan on romancing several of the other LIs, but I won't even be thinking about that until I've had my fill of Cullen...and who knows how many play-throughs that is going to take?

To be honest, hearing that Solas is that restricted makes me worried that Cullen is more restricted than we realize. I always assumed he wouldn't have any more gates than we know of because the pool of people who could romance him would be so limited, but now all bets seem off for that.

I doubt Cullen is even more restricted since that would take of LI from many female characters... If Blackwall isn't for dwarf and qunari only but in that point I'd be quite upset since there would be no good LI for my qunaris. I guess I'd need to transform my qunaris male that point and romance Dorian and Cass with them and just don't play females at all this time ^^;

Allan confirmed in a separate thread that Gaider's tweet about the last 2 options not being the race gated options was just David saying he never confirmed or denied that, so the last unknown romance could still be the 2nd gated one.

Thanks. That gives me hope.  I really don't want Cullen gated any more than he already is...for everyone's sake.

Cullen, you need to not have any race-gating. My qunari lady NEEDS a romance that suits her and IB ain't it. I suppose Josephine could work, but that would mean she gets both my planned qunaris, male and female.

 

And it seems my planned human girl is definitely going with Cullen. I did have a stray thought that she could fit with Solas if he was an option, but not anymore!

 

I wonder what those story reasons are, though? I don't really count 'I'm just not into these other races' as story reasons, personally.

I'm actually so excited right now, you have no idea.  I actually have the biggest grin on my face. My headcanon for my Inquisitor is that she develops a deep-seeded abhorrence for the Fade after what happened at Haven, so instead of sleeping she climbs all over the Keep at night. She likes to climb and run around buildings and high places, basically. More free-running than parkour though. So anyway, this is PERFECT because my headcanon for how she meets Cullen is that she's climbing around the Keep, and then one night she slips and ends up hanging on for dear life outside his window. Needless to say, their first impressions of each other (especially Cullen's of her) are not the best.  And then after she gets over the initial mortification she ends up visiting a few nights a week, until it turns into every night. So this is excellent information! I can put this into the rewrite of my fic now.

 

I am still very sad for Solas fans though. What a bummer. :/ I hope you are all doing okay.

I still can't get over the brilliant role reversal of Cullen being the princess living in a tower, and our ladies being the brave knight who comes knocking for some sweet loving. That's some revolutionary fairy tale spin right there.

For some reason, it makes me think of the Lady of Shallot. I hope it's not anything like that though, because I don't want Cullen to die. :/ Although now I'm getting sad and... kinda surreal fic bunnies and I don't know if I want to indulge them. :S But I do agree with you about the awesome role reversal.

Sad but okay. It's just that my Valpur romance plans look like this: Dorian Cassandra Varric or Solas . Everyone that suits her personality has been ruled out one by one. She's also my self-insert playthrough (well not completely since I'm bad at those but I feel like she's kinda something I'd like to be?) so I'd like to stay true to her.

 

My options for her seems to be Iron Bull and Cullen but I wanted her backstory be that Qunari murdered her Tal-Vashoth parents and that she hates Qun and Qunari. Also romancing qunari as qunari seems boring to me. Cullen I have for Skye, I'd feel little odd with romancing him with other character.

 

The other female characters don't intrest me romance-wise so nope for them.

I'm cautiously optimistic about the Solas romance. I need to know what the story reasons are for gender- and race-gating him, until that he's in the "maybe" pile along with Dorian. I feel bad for the people who wanted to romance him with as a dude or with a different race, though. I'm surprised they did gate him, I was so sure he'd be bi. I wish everybody could get to romance the character they want to. I'm suspecting that the last LI is Viv, straight and human-only.
