Thanks! This is really interesting. So what I'm thinking is that the Templar and Mage are both Inquisition soldiers now. The Mage probably isn't happy about serving under a former templar and the Templar is probably angry that he's now having to work alongside mages, especially after it seems to have been a mage who killed the Divine. Cullen's all BAMF and tells them their loyalties are not the the Order or the Fraternities or whatever, but the Inquisition and that stopping the Big Bad is the most important thing.

Yes, that's how I read it, too.  :)

Well, it looks like he's actually breaking up a fight that's started/about to start between and a mage and Templar. So it seems he's stepping in to interrupt it.

So probably Dorian and Cassandra maybe? Just a guess.

I think it's just an angry mage and an angry templar that are with the inquisition.

Unlikely since he says 'we are not Templars anymore'. Cassandra was never a Templar.

If you side with the Templars in DA2 Cullen is hesitant at executing the 3 mages that surrender themselves.

Guess he has doubts.

I think he's always had doubts.

His comments during the Mage Origin imply that he does worry about whether or not the Templars are occasionally executing innocent people for fear they might be corrupted. After he suffered at Uldred's hands during "Broken Circle", I think that the trauma caused him to slightly veer in the opposite direction and fear that when the chips are down, no Mage is truly innocent.

I suspect that Meredith's similar stance is part of the reason he supported and defended her for so long during DA2, but after realising how much she'd become twisted by her zealotry and paranoia, he took a long hard look at his own views and saw what would happen if he let this irrational fear do the same thing to him.

And if you ask his opinion he says they should be watched, not executed since they can be innocent. He has come long way from DAO where he wanted to execute all mages just cause he couldn't be sure who were innocents and who not :)

Incoming banter!

Inquisitor: So, you are a Templar and your name is Cullen?

Cullen: I was a Templar, but yes my name is Cullen.

Inquisitor: Cullen? It sounds stupid.

Cullen: *startled* Err, I'm sorry you feel that way?

Inquisitor: What does it mean anyway?

Cullen: *blush* Ah well, err...

Inquisitor: Come on! What's it mean?

Cullen: It means 'good looking lad'.

Inquisitor: I take it back. It's not stupid at all.

So, one of my subscribers just noticed that during the scene in "The Enemy of Thedas" trailer when the Inquisitor clone grabs you and slams you against the door, blood is running down it... literally the rain is washing the blood down our Skyhold (0.44):

... Looks like A LOT of death. I'm gonna need to be fully prepared for this one!

I would hazard a guess and say this is very early on, maybe even Cullen's introduction.

Uhmm nooo, that's not blood, its the stockpile of ketchup containers, stored above the door, they have been broken *nod, nod* :?

The implications of that are..........not good atall, unless it's representational and it's all part of a dream/nightmare? *fingers crossed*

Isn't there a horror movie with blood running down walls? ( I don't watch them, so not too sure).

That would be a really nice way to introduce him. It might even be something to do with the Mage/Templar war if we send him on that quest instead of Leliana.

Ooooh, kinda like Shepard's weird dreams? Could well be! I mean, you'd think anyone in the general area would be like "why is there two of them?" if it isn't a dream, lol!

Yeah, I like that idea. It's in the Frostback Mountains too, isn't that one of the first places we go? or is my mind making things up again?

Yea, exactly so, I'm pretty sure one of the devs has said that none of what we see, in these clips, is in context.

I know if it was me that this shizz was happening to, I'd be having nightmares if I slept atall lol.

Looks like water effects on the door to me, for two reasons.  Its shinier than I would expect blood to be on a door, and the stone isn't discolored around the door at all.

Of course this could be my minds way of rejecting bad things.

Could be a weird dream/premonition about the Skyhold being attacked, warning us to make sure we've got our sh!t together before it actually happens. Or maybe that happens directly after the Skyhold attack after we've beaten them back enough for them to retreat? Some demon under the order of the Elder One morphs into the Inquisitor to give him/her a friendly warning "more pain this time", meaning that things are going to only get worse for the Inquisition from here on out.

Y'know, I know just the person to ask about that... in fact, it's probably one of his. Lemme check with Nick.

Maybe. But I'm thinking that the dream was a...manifestation of our power, the mark, within our subconscious, telling us to get our act together, because the Elder One is still on the way. I imagine it as happening after some big victory during our campaign, but the mark tell us to not let down our guard, because we have bigger fish to fry.
