Could be a weird dream/premonition about the Skyhold being attacked, warning us to make sure we've got our sh!t together before it actually happens. Or maybe that happens directly after the Skyhold attack after we've beaten them back enough for them to retreat? Some demon under the order of the Elder One morphs into the Inquisitor to give him/her a friendly warning "more pain this time", meaning that things are going to only get worse for the Inquisition from here on out.

Oh gawds, imagine having to make really tough calls, like save a village or not after having that dream/premonition

Maybe. But I'm thinking that the dream was a...manifestation of our power, the mark, within our subconscious, telling us to get our act together, because the Elder One is still on the way. I imagine it as happening after some big victory during our campaign, but the mark tell us to not let down our guard, because we have bigger fish to fry.

Or after the sexy time scene, ala ME3 LOL!

When the attack on the Skyhold happens, there will definitely be a lot of casualties... presumably the severity of it would likely be down to how prepared we were with the Skyhold and the Inquisition's defensives and upgrades etc.

I'd still save the village. I will never, ever, sacrifice the needs of the few to save the many.

I'm still annoyed that Cameron let that whole Skyhold being attacked thing slip, that's something I would have liked to experience by complete surprise and dismay in-game. Still, I suppose at least in advance that I'll need to be ready for it.

I believe that in the trailer, when we saw Blackwall and Sera fighting demons with red lyrium erupting all around, is when we are attacked by the Elder One.

I dare say he'll attack more than once, looks like he's pretty proactive on the villain front if that trailer is anything to go by!

Lol, I'm actually kinda excited. I hope the Elder One totally kicks our asses. Still, I wonder how he manages to surprise us like that? Oh, maybe it can cause a major rift to open over Skyhold, and the demons start to roll in.

Oh, I just meant in general, not the whole Crestwood village versus fort situation.

I wonder if the Inquisitor will be used as some kind of sacrifice ritual to open up a huge rift  :D

I never let people die if I can help it...well, there are a few exceptions but rarely lol.

But just imagine having that in the back of your mind, perhaps without any context, such are the way of dreams. Then having to make any kind of life or death call, eesshh.

As you guys are saying though, it could just as easily be a case of "this is what WILL happen if you dont do blah blah".

We don't know when Skyhold is attacked though? I hope they at least give some warning, let me pack away my linens and paintings first, tidy my room up for guests and such.

Well, maybe not Skyhold necessarily, but I don't think he necessarily has an issue putting in work if necessary. I just wanna know what the hell he is and how he fits into the lore. I am utterly lost as to what he could be. I don't think he's a demon, and if he's a deity, what pantheon does he belong to?

It'd be interesting if the Big Bad could manipulate our mark to spawn a major hole in the Fade.

I'd imagine using your hand glowy fist thingy would be painful to use.

No doubt. In the Lead them or Fall trailer, the Inquisitor almost collapsed when manipulating that rift near the Fear demon. This power is clearly something no mortal is meant to have.

But also when Solace forces your hand to close a rift.

It looks like he forces you, anyway.

I agree, I think it's going to be painful and I reckon our bodies are going to suffer over time with its use.

I wonder if it disappears at the end, assuming we win? That would be quite cool to see, it getting smaller and smaller on our hand and then just vanish * The End*

Yeah, that's probably the first major rift we close, and he's showing us how to do it lol.

It would be more of a surprise if a giant rift opened under Skyhold... I mean, since we're all looking at the skies.

Well...we did see a few seconds where building are collapsing with red light shining from their bottoms...maybe the rift opens up underneath the castle, and the result is that the castle collapses into the rift, getting transported to the Fade?

Has there been any direct correlation between red lyrium and the Fade or rifts? I'm just curious and I don't know if it's already been discussed and I missed it.
