Y'know the biggest difficulty I faced in DA2 was the romances. See, in DA:O I fell hook, line and sinker for Alistair, literally I liked him so much that every time I tried to romance someone else he'd say something daft/adorable/funny and I'd ALWAYS end up falling for him all over again, but it didn't matter so much because all the companions were very capable and I didn't need to worry that they might get themselves in trouble without my Warden around 24/7 once they all went their separate ways.
When DA2 came around the LI's had a lot to live up to, but for me and sadly none of them hooked me in the way Alistair had, however Anders became my canon romance option because I'd liked him in DA:A and he fit well with my canon sarcastic male mage Hawke. BUT, I realised quickly that all the companions were outcasts and had various issues/problems/situations which made them all vulnerable in their own way. Now, having played DA:O I knew that by the end of the game eventually my Hawke and his companions would all go their separate ways, except for the love interest, so I had this real crisis where I felt bad (and still feel bad) for romancing one over another because I knew that the only way to guarantee that a companion would be safe is to romance them so that they'd stay travelling with him. So, now I'm concerned that the other companions I didn't romance could end up in a bad way... especially when DG mentioned that Fenris' lyrium tattoos could cause him problems without someone keeping him on the straight and narrow, and that letting Merrill keep the mirror could spell trouble in DAI etc.
I'm guessing that sort of thing won't be much of an issue in DAI since all of the companions are important and hold some sort of power, which will keep them safe enough.
Could you link that post, at all?

I think the mirror one was on Twitter, I don't recall where the Fenris one was... I wouldn't know where to begin trying to find them. R2 might have a copy of them on record?
Oh poor Fenris. He looks like abandoned puppy when you give him to Danarius, I once watched it in youtube and almost started crying. Giving him back to Danarius and also forcing Anders to fight in templars side are two things I can't absolutely do in DA2 no matter how ******* my Hawke is..

What's annoying is that you only get a heart felt goodbye from Anders if you make him fight for the Templars.
Sorry for the OT but I need some quick advice here: I'm trying to cook a spiral ham and the directions are unclear. It says to wrap "it" in foil - does that mean I wrap just the ham or cover the whole roaster?

Just the ham, I think. That's what people do with chicken sometimes so I'm guessing the same rule applies.
Hehe, forcing Anders to help is my canon. (I really dislike the guy, sorry Anders fans)
Well I kind have love-hate relationship with Anders. Sometimes I can't stand him and sometimes I like him ^^;
Since my canon is siding with templars my canon is also letting Anders go and then fighting and killing him. I just feel like it's better for him to die fighting for his own cause than abandoning it and then probaply dying by suicide.

Thanks, that's what I'm gonna go with! Sounds reasonable to me.
I've cooked ham before but never a spiral one - but I'm at work and that's the ham they bought.
Hopefully it'll turn out decently. We only have one resident here today, so if I fail at least I won't fail in front of much of an audience. ![]()
On Twitter they tweeted the weird picture of the cloudy demons with the caption "Everyone has secrets. RT and we’ll tell you ours."
... Do you suppose that they're actually going to tell us something?
I need to post this (dat ending!):
*snip the hurty hurt hurt video*
Sorrynotsorry!
Ouch.
I romanced him once for science so I went all the way. Still... That made me feel bad for him. Like Hawke knew that he was serious beforehand! How could she do that? *wibbles*
When I first learned that you could give Fenris back to Danarius, I was like, *Alistair voice*: "Why would you DO THAT?!" lol
Then I found out you could kill Brother Genetivi and I was all, "Why?!"
I am a massive softie in these games. I can't be an ass, and it's ridiculous, because I spent a couple of years roleplaying the most hateful and angry halfelf ever spawned when I was playing Everquest, but now-Nope. I don't want to make anyone sad.
As for Cullen-this is speculation, and probably at least a little projection, but I don't see him having been celibate all this time. I don't see him "wielding the sword" all over town, certainly, but I just assume he's had adult relationships, if only casually. He strikes me as very honorbound, rather than non-sexual.
Lastly, Phate Pheonix-your fakebanter makes me laugh, always.
Never stop. *grin*
Do it for the ending, seriously it's hilarious!
Wahm-wahm-waaaahhhhh!
haha!

Same here,I liked him a lot in Awakening but in DA2 there were moments when I wanted to slap him, although I still like him way too much to kill him...I tried it during my Evil-psychopath playthrough to see what happens and I had to reload...Then I fought him and killed him in the gallows.
Fenris is my canon Hawke's love interest so obviously she didn't give him to Danarius, but I'm pretty sure that's one thing none of my characters could ever do anyway. It's just so horrible, knowing what was done to him and what you're sending him back to! Even watching it on youtube gave me too many feels!

Man, the amount of meta-gaming I had to do to get all my companions to 100% friendship! I think DG said that we won't be able to do that this time... I'm still gonna try though.

I usually cover the top in foil and tuck it in under the lip on the edge of the roaster. So it's just half pan, half foil. I hope that helps - I think I'm doing crap at explaining.

I couldn't manage 100% with Anders or Isabela with my canon Hawke.
Merrill was at 100% rivalry.
Somehow my Hawke managed full friendship with Fenris very early on (as a mage, even!) though.
You mean we can't get to 100% with every companion in DAI? Well I'm still going to try my damnedest! EVERYONE HAS TO LIKE ME.
In DA2, I actually had a hard time getting Carver to 100% of rivalry or friendship. In my canon playthrough I tried for full rivalry but just got over the threshold. I actually had an easier time getting him to 100% friendship on another playthrough.

[SUDDENLY SPIDERS]
INQUISITOR: Do something!
CULLEN: [STANDING BEHIND INQUISITOR] But... legs! And eyes! And venom!
INQUISITOR: Protect me, blast you!
CULLEN: You're our leader!
INQUISITOR: Exactly! Now do as I say and kill the creepy crawlies!
SOLAS: [TOSSES FIREBALL] Can we go now?
VARRIC: [FACEPALM]
I wonder if the devs have been inspired by any of our fan-made party banter?
Cuz this stuff is GOLD
Oh now that's simple

Liking because I approve the choice in gif - not the stabbity-stab-stab of Cullen's theoretical wife/fiance.
AC ftw! \o/
My problem with getting either friendship or rivalry with Anders was that he and my Hawke agreed and disagreed on different major subjects. In Act One they were headed toward full rivalry because Hawke thought sending mages to the Circle was generally the best way to protect them. In Act Two she started getting friendship points because they shared an anti-demon stance. Act Three was back and forth, then she got a big hit of rivalry points for refusing to help Anders when he told her he wanted to sneak into the chantry. (She helped with the quest up till that point, but that was when it became clear he was hiding his real intentions.) So she didn't end up with a strong friendship or rivalry; the approval sort of hovered around the middle.
I don't like metagaming stuff like that, so I just accepted that my Hawke had a complicated and difficult relationship with Anders.
