I think we get Cass first, closely followed by Varric, he may even get involved with getting Cass to reconsider our arrest after that event happens and then joins us permanently.
In the Jailhouse:

I appreciate that the world is likely falling apart around our very ears but you know, if there are huge customization options for Skyhold, I can't see the world being saved in any sort of timely manner..

I'm starting to wonder if Allegra Clark was cosplaying Isabela, or if Isabela was cosplaying her.
I suspect that DAI starts with boom and you pretty fast have Cassandra pointing sword at your throat. She has started Inquisition at that point and most likely Leliana and other advisors are there since start since you don't recruit them: Cullen is recruited by Cass and Josephine by Leliana. It's likely that Varric is somewhere around as well.
When you became Inquisitor I think you have to find other companions then while doing quests. Some might come seek you like Solas and could be easy to recruit because of it. I'd imagine that some are harder to find like Cole. There is probaply personal quests you need to do for them in order to recruit them or then you might have change to even miss/leave/kill them since you don't have to pick up everybody.

The makeup gave me the worst time ever! I'd take forever trying to find a decent shade which inevitably looked totally different in game than it did in CC.

OMG, that was totally my first Warden. I thought she looked cool and edgy... til she was outside in the sun with the non-clownlike vampires in her alienage.

Thank goodness for the Black Emporium in DA2, I use a default to start as it impacts on siblings and mum, first stop after getting to Gamlens, Black Emporium to change it to my tried and tested look, then I can start playing.
I hope there will be something similar for DAI

In DA:O I didn't have any problems with the CC. DA2 was a different story, it took me ages to get a normal looking character and 3 years to perfect my canon Hawke... still hell to trying to recreate him though!

My worst problem in DAO is and has always been the eye colors. The CC is so dark, I can't really see them, then I get out into the first cutscene with good lighting and, wow, how'd she get that color eyes?

This was a big problem for me in DAO. I'd have to find the colour I wanted on a human and then count the steps for when I actually made my elf. Still ended up making a mistake. At least on the final incarnation of my canon Warden it was a pleasant mistake and I wound up with some lovely brown eyes.
Sometimes I stare at the CC for so long that i can't tell eye colours or different styles of noses/eyes/lips/etc apart, lol.

I would find it most helpful if there was a lighting toggle in the CC so we can see what our toons look like in both day and night lighting. Who do I have to bribe for this to happen?
From what I understand, it started with a woman called Zoe Quinn, who made the free game Depression Quest, and her ex-boyfriend. He accused her of cheating on him or something with a Kotaku writer (I think), but the guy sounds like a total dick so I don't blame her, and of course when a totally different Kotaku writer gave her game a good review, it was claimed she was giving sexual bribes for a good review. That of course caused this torrent of hate towards her, but I think it has since evolved into a more genuine outcry for more professional gaming journalism. But I think someone else will have a better view of things.

OK, so I'm not the only one who had trouble with the eye color; my daughter claimed it was either me or my computer because she had no problem, lol. As far as the makeup, etc., I didn't have much trouble with the facial structures after the first few tries, but I ended up with some dreadfully over-made-up wardens early on that I just went ahead and played. I'm not so sure I want to see what they look like in Frostbite, lol.
Hey guys! For my 500th post I'm just going to doodle a big picture. If you want your Inquisitor to be in it, just pm or just post here and describe what they look like and their gender and race, a quick tidbit of their personality (sarcastic, sweet, etc.) Maybe what they would wear..like robes, platemail, I dunno. I haven't decided on the style so it may be really chibi or it may be more realistic. It's just for fun but I'd be happy to draw them in!
And eye color, lol. When I first played DAO it was on a really bad laptop, and the low settings made everyone's eyes black. No whites or anything. xD I thought people of Dragon Age had demonic eyes for the longest time.
