It would seem my choice to roll a female elf first go was wise.
My harem shall be a glorious one indeed.
It's just from what choice words he's had in the past. Calling Oghren, "an ignorant cave dwelling heathen" after Oghren was being quite sympathetic. From what we've seen he has stuff against people of different religions. Can our dwarf or Qunari be Andrastians?why can't he be interested if so? People have suggested it in the past. Yes, could just be preference. Juuuuuust saying. It's not that premature because like KC said we've seen him being a hater.
Though, actually! It stems from him seeing them as heathens rather than their race. So he may be a... Bigot? Is that the term? I'm interested to see if we can change his mind or if he has changed his mind since 2.
I think you're getting closer to the root of Cullen's baggage. I'd describe Cullen as prejudiced, but not necessarily racist. They are two different (and ugly) beasties, though closely related.

Qunari and dwarves being compared to house plants. Might want to rephrase that...
I'm just saying Lucy, if you walk in the woods with your dog and get attacked by a bear, you’ll let your dog get killed attacking the bear so you can run away and live. Because as much as you love your dog, he’s not a human person.
Thank you for this XD
Indeed. Though it might go so far as him not being romantically inclined towards, "heathens" is bordering on it. Though yessums I agree.
Yeah, I can see your point. If you agree with the idea that prejudice + institutional power = racism, a case could def. be made that he is racist, as a representative of a powerful institution himself. Not pretty at all. ![]()
I am hoping that Cullen's attitudes toward Dwarves and Qunari are simple, correctable ignorance: the product of the combination of a lifetime's indoctrination into Chantry beliefs plus lack of exposure to other cultures. Better that than a heartfelt belief in the "superiority" of those whose company he prefers. Whichever it is, he can expect a hard slap from my Inquisitor, romanced or not.
o_o well at least the romance debate is over.

Though Oghren took it rather well, I remember being really surprised. From what we've seen he has stuff against people of different religions. Iunno. The possibility is interesting. Though we like to see the best in the companions, there is that possibility and I personally find it an interesting aspect of him.
i'm back *snort* maybe i can actually post now...
um, Cullen is a Templar. He spouts Templar/Chantry thinking. And I believe he believes that stuff..or at least has. Whether, or not he has grown/matured beyond that yet remains to be seen.
Although, I''m always surprised when ppl expect Cullen to not think and behave like the Templar he is and has been for a number of years.
I've seen ppl put out w/Cullen cuz he wanted to arrest Hawke at the end of DA2. I think to myself---he's not your BFF. Yes, he wanted to arrest you. The guddam chantry and grand cleric were just murdered. You're gonna be held for questioning at least. You should be! lol!
As far as statements made in the past..yeah. He's definitely shown ignorance. The same kinda ignorance I expect from a Templar, Chantry loving character would show.
They say his choice of LI is for story reasons. Like Solas. I can understand his not liking Qunari, esp after DA2, but the dwarf thing I don;t get.

Hello, I'm new to the forums, but I've been a Cullen fan since Origins! I love that his thread is the biggest by far ![]()
So, I have a question for those who know a lot about DA lore: I know that it's possible for elves and humans to have offspring together. What I want to know: is it possible for a human/qunari to have offspring? What about humans/dwarfs?
I ask because, while I'm not saying that this would necessarily play into the story during DA: I, maybe Cullen does want kids eventually? I know not everyone here in the forums is a big fan of kids, but, while I myself may not be ready for children, I can certainly understand the desire to cultivate a relationship with someone with whom I could create a family. So, does anyone know what the reproductive compatibility is between the DA species?
I personally view dwarves as stocky disgusting children look alikes.
Maybe Cullen is the same?

it makes me think abt rolling a Dalish elf.....ack, but I really don;t want to. It doesn't resonate with me.

Human and elves, yes. Feynriel and Alistair are examples of a human/elf union. The child will always be a human. Humans/dwarves can also have kids together, but they'll be half dwarves (taller than a dwarf, shorter than an average human).
I am not sure about humans/qunari though.
EDIT: Oops, read that as you asking if humans/elves could have babies. Sorry. ![]()

You and me both.
I miss my city elf :'(
Ayup it'd be cool to explore that. Iron Bull and Varric can show him A WHOLE NEW WORRRLLLDDDD~Yeah, I can see your point. I'm not much of an elf person personally, but I have always wanted to play a dalish mage. Not wanting to play as a human noble was also a factor into my choice.
Will definitely roll at least one of each eventually anyways.
The fact that female elves get the biggest pick of the crop is just a bonus ![]()
My Lady Aeducan is not disgusting looking, nor does she look like a child.
They are to me.
So yeah; Maybe its as simple aesthetics, if you can't get it up to a race, i don't see the issue.
I don't view every one that passes me in the office as attractive.

I'm not much of an elf person either, at least in DA, but like you, I'll be rolling one eventually, mostly to romance Solas if I like what I see of him during my Dwarf and/or Human playthrough (decisions, decisions...). All of this reminds me that the real reveal I've been waiting on is the character creation system.
yeah, i end up rolling at least one of each anyways. Ctiy Elf was my favorite. Idk why, but the Dalish one just didn;t do it for me. Maybe it was just the Origin story? thoug, there are many that really connected to that Origin. So..idk.
hell, I'm gonna play them all anyway. Who am I kidding?
With the announcement of Blackwall...in a way, I have an excuse to play a dwarf now. XD
