As you and your Inquisition grow in strength, the facilities and amenities of Skyhold improve. (...)  “Over time, as you progress through the story, you get to see it rebuilt and more areas open up,” Laidlaw says. “It goes from ‘kind of wrecked castle’ to ‘your castle.’ The walls are fixed. Your soldiers are patrolling. You see your support staff growing in number. Merchants come to set up station. You get that feeling of it becoming a grand, central hub.”

This is straight up Kingdoms of Amalur stuff in here, and I love it. Furnishing is such a weakness for me, I foresee I'll be spending soooooo much time tweaking and trying out different decorations and getting Skyhold just the way I want it.

Because Skyhold is where the members of the Inquisition gather, you can wander around the grounds and find all of your allies. They all find their own corners and make themselves at home;

I wonder if this will be like moving from the Normandy SR-1 to the SR-2, with companions changing hang out spots when the ship doubled in size. Will they hang around in Haven so you can talk to them there, then settle into different parts of Skyhold once you conquer it?

Also makes me wonder where Cullen's hang out spot is in his tower. Are we going straight into his bedroom every time, or maybe he hangs out in the armory, or the practice grounds...

In some cases, your main avenue to interact with your romantic interest is also at Skyhold. Your advisors Cullen and Josephine don’t travel with you as fighting companions, but they are still potential love interests. How you use your time at Skyhold with them can shape the direction your relationship takes.

Interesting! Well, I tend to obsess a bit with always talking to/visiting/getting a lil' kiss from my LI between quests, so spending enough quality time with Cullen that he still thinks of my Quizzie when she's gone shall not be a problem. ^_^

I love this "sims" part of the game we are going to have. I wonder how big the feature really is. If it's like in sims I will use many hours for my Skyhold XD

Skye will probaply try to make it cozy but pretty simple. He'd love herb garden there as well.

Valpur would make it practical and make military part of Skyhold strong, like training fields and such.

Tamarin wants Skyhold to show off Inquisitions- meaning his status and power. It will look rich and have lot of expensive stuff. Maybe Dorian would like to decorate with him. Orlais would be the style he's aiming for.

Michal loves the idea of her own castle. She will try to decorate it Free Marches style to remind her of home there. There will be chapel and chantry related stuff. Also big library.

It only says "This isn't Sims, where you fuss over every detail" so I don't think we will be down with choosing matching linens or such. I'm sure I did read something about a garden though, maybe it was the leaked achievement list, I can't remember the source, sorry :(

Future DLC - Skyhold Customization Pack :P

Holy crap!!!!!

"Though Lee and Laidlaw enjoy discussing the more lighthearted examples, not all judgments end with a smile. You can exile characters and execute them, and in one case, you can sentence a mage to Tranquility."

I'm wondering if my pro-Templar human run is going to be able to sentence anyone to tranquility in any context. I mean, it's one thing to support the idea , it's another to bring the axe down yourself, so to speak.

My inquisitor will spend a lot of time in Skyhold :D!

Skyhold looks awesome and i like the idea of seeing improvement over time.

See that throws me off because it seems that occasionally they do travel with us as an NPC, of at least meet us somewhere and then fight along side us for a bit, like in that quest where Leliana gets tortured.

I still think Tranquility's a bad idea now the Veil's being torn like Cinderella's dress.

*dramatic music*  maybe it's whichever Advisor has the lowest approval that gets sent?..............I don't like that idea, *denial glasses on*.

I agree, there must be scenarios where they travel or meet up, hmmm

Ughh, sorry again, stupid post.

HNNNNG. I used to create housing mods for Oblivion and Skyrim, so the idea of customizing Skyhold is giving me major ladywood. Hurry up, release date.

We probably will have to kill or make other mages join us. I'd imagine that the one we might have to use the Rite on would be Alexius, if you don't kill him, perhaps. Or, maybe there is a leader in the rebel mage's faction that we have the option to put down.

Also, I wonder if Cullen is the one to perform the Rite on our orders.

You know what would be hell for me?

A choice between additional CC Options Pack (with long hair) OR Customization Pack for Skyhold -  Nice home or nice hair, how does someone make that kind of choice? :crying:

Well they talk about the judgement scenarios being unique (non generic/repeatable) and involved with other quests you've already completed, and the phrasing used in the article was "and in one case, you can sentence a mage to Tranquility" - I'm thinking this will be a one-time only, very specific case. Maybe Anders, as others brought up, maybe some blood mage wreaking chaos out there that we defeat and capture in another quest, maybe some leader of the mage rebellion if you're siding with the Templars.

If it's Anders, I'll be missing out on that quest the first time around, as he's dead in my main canon (mercy kill, my Hawke cried about it for months). If it's a blood mage or abomination or any sort of evil mage, my Chantry-leaning Trevelyan will go for straight up death sentence, no taking chances with Tranquility after what we've learned in Asunder. If it's not an outright evil mage but something more gray area... I'll have to study the case, I guess. She'd probably still go for Tranquility as the minimal-damage option, but she's not a Chant-thumping maniac or anything, she can be compassionate and forgiving if the mage makes a good case for themselves.

I would think that Cullen would be the more qualified, although, I have to wonder if Cassandra could also perform the rite.

I thought of Anders, for "some" reason.

Even my mage Inquisitor may support the Rite of Tranquility if the situation calls for it. It would be hard for her, but she has to make that hard choice if the mage did something wrong (ie kill someone).

Figure this is the thread for one of my points, Which is that I'm very wary of Cullen. I hope he's changed a lot since we last saw him because otherwise I worry that he'd endanger the mission by antagonizing mages.

Cole dissaproves -20.

Why do that when we can simply kill them? Also, bear in mind it's reversible.

Tranquility keeps the mage in question in check.

It makes them useful again, rather then being a danger.

It's a good process.
