It's the whole "family wants you to join the Chantry-you may or may not agree." An older younger sibling should have either joined or had other responsibilities.
Actually, the text says similar path, not that you were forced to either be a Templar or priest, and simply that you were sent to assist relatives at the conclave. And I believe they reassured us about a month back that they've been careful not to force anyone into a particular relationship with a religion in the game. There are ways of serving the Chantry without taking vows (rogues - think of Leliana). You don't have to be a 20 year old. Frankly, if it turns out we're formally part of the chantry, I simply won't play a human rogue or warrior, ever. Just my preference.
That's what I meant, she took her Harrowing (which is when they reach adulthood, right? so around 18ish?) ... but had not been a full on mage for too long before the war broke out.
I'm sure we'll get more info down the road. I'd prefer mid to late twenties anyway, given how old Cullen is (which is mid to late thirties, right?)
Mmm, where does it say she had only been a full mage for a short time before the war broke out? I'm looking at the human mage description now. The only reference to age is when the text says you were forced into the circle at a young age. As far as I know, we can play any age in the spectrum they gave us (20 to 40ish I think?)
