I wonder how the end game thing is gonna work? The devs said we could continue playing after the main story is over and the big bad is slayed etc, but I wonder if it'll be like Skyrim where it was like "BOOM! Ok, you've killed the bad guy, off you go with your bad self to do other random stuff", or if we'll get the ending credits and then once they've finished it'll take you back to your game to continue on post-battle.
I'm hoping it's the latter, I prefer having the big showdown, watching those final epic scenes play out and then the credits role with the atmospheric music whilst you bask in the afterglow for a bit.
I'd prefer the latter too, because the former was my biggest issue maintaining interest in Skyrim after finishing the main quest. I did clock in about 3,000 hours before I finally tackled the main quest, which is insane, but once that was done I was like... okay? That's it? Now what, I just go back to running around stealing underpants and getting attacked by mudcrabs? The quest iself felt epic, but there was zero payoff, and no change in the world to reflect that you just saved it from destruction.
So my hope is that DA:I won't just go "quest completed" and call it a day, but will at least give us a proper ending to the main quest so we can get a feeling of closure on the main threat. Maybe a cinematic ending and epilogue/credits roll, and then let us wander if we choose to, but knowing that that chapter is closed and our job is done.
