Jacob's romance conclusion, Miranda in general, not being able to stop Vegas, flirting, the way two of my possible choices were retroactively declared invalid...

Jacob...is just Jacob...I do not favor that character very much. Miranda on the other hand I did really like...but yeah they did show off some of her...erm..."assets" far too many times. Vega I found him kind of funny but I can see how that could be annoying. As for the two possible choice declaired invalied, which do you mean?

ME was pretty bad in its treatment of women in general. Miranda's gratuitous ass shots in the middle of serious conversations, Jack's sexualized outfit accompanied by a creepy "purity" romance arc, the forced Madonna/Wh*re dychotomy between Miranda and Jack, EDI being unecessarily sexualized for an android to the point of having a vagina slit, Ashley going from a hardened soldier to a Kardashian because she wasn't "bangable enough," the entire concept of the Asari being obviously written from male gaze to male gaze, the excuse for lack of females in other alien races being "resources" when there were apparently resources enough to make finely and lovingly detailed vulva textures (clitoris and everything) for banshees....

DA has its moments of sexism, but ME is a whole different animal.

As I stated above they did focus on one aspect of Miranda much more than all her other aspects. Jack eh...I kind of see her like Sera...well in the future but once again I can see where that can be pretty obnoxious. EDI.....that I forgot about...O_O...Ashley...*shakes head* Oh Ashley...

I don't think I will get like attacked for stating I'm a guy and I never found all these things to be obvious, I know that somewhere my mind noted those things but with you guys pointing all that out...yeah I see what you mean.

Cassandra will be fine, don't worry about it. Never realized that DA is sexist, considering that they treated female characters well.

Okay I must have been missing A LOT! DA is sexist or has sexism in it? That I have never noticed.

What they did to Jacob though, was uacceptable.

Everything with Jacob was wrong. I don't even talk to him in ME2 apart from any forced interaction. (Of course forgetting that he has one of the upgrades for the Suicide Mission).

That didn't excuse Bioware in ruining his character.

Agreed. I don't even think it was Jacob himself who was the biggest problem, so much as it was the way femShep was written to interact with him. I felt like such an objectifying lech when I talked to him.

I know I'm being paranoid. Cass will be fine. My F!Inquisitor won't sexually harass anyone or be harassed. Blackwall's romance will go off without a hitch and I will happily be torn between him and Cullen in subsequent playthroughs. I certainly won't be reduced to shipping the Inquisitor with a minor NPC.

I just need some reassurance.

Bioware has put WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY too much time for things like that to come to play, so yeah it will be fine :)

Neither did bioware.

I just found Jacob a rather bland and annoying character...at some moments I was running around and I went into his part of the Normandy thinking Mordin was there...needless to say... I was let down when I realized what area I ran to.

Any who, I'm wondering how Cullen will deal with male Inquisitors who shack up with Dorian, a magister. I think it'd be interesting if there was some tension between D and Cullen.

Dorian comes from a different culture, and so while Cullen disagrees with Tevinter policies, he may not hold it against Dorian specifically. Meanwhile, Solas is a mage from his neck of the woods, and has actively avoided Chantry Law, perhaps he would have more animosity towards the elf because of this? (:

I can see him possibly having problems with Solas and Vivienne, mostly with the latter on the way she presents herself. But, he may keep a professional attitude with them.

Why Vivienne? She's been cooperative with Chantry / Circle regulations, and besides that she's just a woman. What is it about "the way she presents herself" that you think he would feel negatively towards? All mages were colourful in Origins.

Yeah, he might have less tolerance for Solas, but depending on how Dorian views slavery or blood magic, Cullen might have a bigger problem. After all, Tevinter's one of the boogeymen of Thedas. Even I can't say at this point whether or not Dorian uses legitimate blood magic, cause Necromancy seems to be rife with the stuff. And I honestly could see Dorian being a blood mage.

I don't think Cullen will have issues with our mage companions for being mages. If they're not blood mages, don't want to burn down the world or start a tyrannical magocracy, I think he'll be alright with them. That said, our mage companions might have something Cullen will take issue with that we don't know about right now, like what Vivienne's agenda is.

I mean about how she feels with her high position. For some reason, I wonder if she may be a bit high strung when we initially see her, something that might put him off a little. And just because she's been cooperative concerning the Chantry/Circle regulations doesn't mean he's automatically gonna like her.

I think he could have issues with proudly heterodox Solas. And I feel like we should have to hold him back from Cole.

Removing blood magic as a PC spec but giving it to one of the companions?  I doubt that... Besides, necromancy in DA:O was unrelated to blood magic.  In DA2 Quentin used it, but he was involved in something that went well beyond reanimating corpses...

Anyway, I think that Cullen and Vivienne will get along well because of their pro-Circle ideology, but I can see him being wary of Solas... not only is he an apostate, he is not even trained in the Cirlce-sanctioned use of magic.  This could cause problems for a number of reasons.  As for Dorian... well, I really doubt he will be a blood mage, so that just leaves the Tevinter mage aspect.  Since Dorian left his homeland due to some undisclosed "disagreement" with Tevinter policies, he may have some things in common with Cullen.  It's hard to say.

Of course, this all assumes that Cullen is pretty much the same guy he was at the end of DA2, which may not be the case...

Spirit Magic from Origins had a legitimate Necromany comparison in Animate Dead, and it is a school of magic taught by the Circle under the guidance / scrutiny of the Chantry in Ferelden, so I don't think Necromancy will equal blood magic.

However, it is true that I do not know whether Dorian has ever used blood magic or whether he would continue to do so after leaving Tevinter.

Neither do I know his views on slavery, but I am under the strong impression that he isn't adamant about being involved in the trade once in Ferelden / Orlais, and as such, I doubt he and Cullen would discuss it. However that would be an interesting point of conversation for your Inquisitor and any companion / adviser, if you had to have Josephine crunching numbers of slaves, their food and health care, etc. I'm sure there would be few who'd approve, let alone Cullen.
