Sounds pathetic now, but I distinctly remember saying that DAI would be the last BioWare game I'd ever play if it turned out to be sh!t, lol. I recall ranting about a few embarrassing things regarding the whole ME3 ending(s) 'n' stuff.

I don't think I could leave the fandom now, if I tried!

Lol I was a lil bit upset about the ending as well... but in my mind my Shepard is IMMORTAL!!!!!!!!!!!! So there! LOL as long as DAI has an ending where my inq lives than i will be happy ... that's all i want.. not a big fan of sacrificing my character .... :P

Well, they said we could continue playing after the ending sooooo presumably we'll have the option to live, lol.

Eh, the ME3 ending debacle soured me on the ME IP, regardless. Though I still look back on the first two games and most of the third with love and can imagine replaying them, whereas for a while I was all "*sob* what's the point!?!?"

I still love DA though and I really have no fears at all about DAI flopping. The labour of love going into it is way too clear :) also... Cullen. *joy* and Varric *glee* and other assorted awesome.

I wonder if Morrigan will approach us with another proposition? Maybe not another dark ritual, but something just as weighty?

I was never that much of a ME fan. I always thought of Shepard as Bioware's character rather than mine, so I found the whole experience quite bland. Also, I prefer my sci-fi to be a bit...grittier? Not sure on the right word. But the ME universe was really too sleek and shiny for me, even places like Omega and Tuchanka.

It could be like some sort of an NG+ like in ME3? It would be nice tho

Mordin was one of my favorite ME characters along with Garrus and Kaidan. I was so sad to see him go :(  I wish he'd survived long enough to get to run his tests on the seashells.

About the endings, they're a main reason I haven't replayed the game at all since the Citadel DLC. The extended cut improved the endings, but the lack of closure, the lack of a sense of reward and wrapping the mystery of the Reapers up with Starbrat was a giant mistake.

It's not something I'm still upset about, but I still understand why people were upset back then and it did affect my view of BW.

Think of it this way, now that Shepard's story is done we can start anew with a whole new story and characters

I wonder if maybe we have the ME3 endings to thank for how amazing DAI is shaping up to be?

Knowing Morrigan? I'm kind of banking on it. I just hope they make it distinctly different from the dark ritual if only for the sake of newness. But I really do think her use of the eluvian and concerns about Flemeth will play a role in what's going on, for sure. I'll be sad if not!

On that note a digression: do you think it would have been as easy to convince Cullen to do the dark ritual as it was Alistair? I, for one, think he would have refused, for better or worse.

From what I heard from the magazines in general.... according to them we would have to thank both ME3 and DA2 for DAI..  but  yea.. journalists now a days... <_<

ME3 wasnt really a bad game it just had a really sad ending I really enjoyed the story and it gave me all sorts of feels as the previous 2 games did, so it wasnt really bad....just wanted my Shepard to live forever with Kaidan.. thats all..

But anyways I cant wait to see if the devs will say or  give us  a bit more Hints about Cullen :D

I'm kind of wondering if maybe TOGB is canon, because if Morrigan doesn't do the dark ritual with your warden, and she doesn't do it with Alistair... What if you completely reject her and tell her to get lost, but somehow she still manages to do the dark ritual by sleeping with Riordan? And we just don't know about it?

Christ, I could imagine him refusing or not believing it at all... maybe he could be talked into it, but I don't think it would've been as easy as it was to get Alistair to do it, LOL!

A perhaps necessary "sacrifice" for the betterment of DAI? I guarantee that the DAI team used every bit of feedback from ME3 to figure out what they should do and what they SHOULD NOT do.

Apparently if you didn't do the dark ritual then the OGB doesn't exist at all.

For sure!

Hell, the only reason I gave DA2 a second chance was because after ME3 I needed to play a game where my protagonist couldn't die at all... which is where I first tried male Hawke out and never looked back! Seriously, it wasn't until I created my canon male sarcastic mage Hawke that I grew to love DA2!

Anything is possible? And depends, I think, on the needs of the game plot. The only thing I'd foresee pissing off some fans is that there warden or Alistair or loghain still die after slaying the Archdemon if the DR wasn't done... And if the DR becomes canon, how would the death be explained? That said, I'm fine with the Devs changing stuff/taking all the liberties they want for the sake of the greater story, but not all fans feel that way.

It seems like such a huge plot line for it to just not exist at all, though, doesn't it? That's why I was thinking maybe she found another Grey Warden to sleep with. Of course, if she had, then your warden or Alistair would not have made the ultimate sacrifice and died, so I guess that theory really doesn't work.

My headcanon is that Alistair flat refuses as well. With a bit of a "Who the eff do you think you are, lady?! I thought you loved me, and you want to me to.." *retches*  "No!"

*snicker*

I absolutely think Cullen would refuse. Vehemently. :)

Lol, agreed. I see Cullen as far less malleable/impressionable than Alistair, which I like for the sake of distinctiveness between the two.
