Mine will find herself drawn to him, despite not actually wanting to get involved in a Templar (ex or not)... plus, I can't be sure that one of our temp companions during that peace gathering prologue won't be another Tamlen (in terms of him/her being a potential love interest prior to the blast), if that's the case then my me!Inquisitor won't even be looking to romance anyone when she gets thrown into the role of Inquisitor.

My guy (at least the way I wrote him) lost a lover and many friends already when the Ostwick Circle went up in flames, so he's pretty scarred emotionally, though that doesn't stop him from flirting with any hot guys.

I never have liked doing self-inserts--though all characters have a bit of me, some more than others. The character concepts I have for DAI are probably the closest to true self-inserts. And even then, they aren't close.

Trevelyan comes from a history of chantry priest, templars, and ardent chantry supporters. I think mine will be a bit skewed towards dislike of Cullen at first, but I'll have to wait and see once I'm in the game.

Edit to add: Forgot to make clear, my first character will be a human mage. Which, hopefully, explains the dislike of Cullen at first.

I'm constantly amazed at the detail and backgrounds so many of you have for your Inquisitors. I can barely decide which race and class I'm going to be, let alone develop an entire background, so kudos to all of you. :) I think I might be a human, female rogue hoping to romance Cullen, but I'm not even sure of that! Sometimes I think that day one I'll just be stuck sitting with the CC still trying to decide the basics, and that I'll never even get to the peace conference until later in the week!

I always try to make separate characters in the game, but they always end up becoming like me. I can't help but let my own biases and personal beliefs filter into the characters.

I totally expect to be stuck in CC for quite a while!  Thankfully, we'll be able to set up our world states ahead of time so that won't take me another week once the game comes out.  :P

I've not given that side of things much thought yet, as far as her backstory goes I'm waiting to see if they mention much about it in-game and what replies we can given when/if asked about it.

Do we know much about Ostwick Circle? Like, was it particularly bad/good?

I do it out of morbid curiosity more than anything else. I like to see how badly I'd mess things up if I was in that situation which is why I only do it for my first ever playthrough when I don't know what to expect from the game. I've only ever had one self-insert become my canon ultimate protagonist for a game and that's my Warden, due to many, many reasons.

I find the idea of a mage Trevelyan still coming from a background of Templars and Chantry supporters absolutely hilarious! I would imagine the family would likely want nothing more to do with him/her the minute they found out he/she was a mage, LOL!

No clue about Ostwick's Circle. However, the Marcher Circles have a pretty notorious reputation, so it's probably on the more conservative end of the spectrum.

As for other bits and bobs, I only wrote some of these details to alleviate boredom. I can easily change and adapt my background when new information arises.

Which circle was supposed to be the party circle because that particular area was known for it's taverns and stuff?

The bolded is why my non-mage Trevelyan is going to be skewed towards pro-Chantry and pro-Templars at first, and prone to instantly respect and admire Cullen as this distant ideal of what a Ser Templar should be - at least until he turns her beliefs upside down by being so temperate and reserved about going off in either extreme, showing her that you can be a faithful servant of the Maker without ending up at the other side of fanatical.

I love this background we've been given, it's rich with opportunity to play a very morally complex character that plays off well from Cullen's own "all I know is I know nothing at all" current disposition.

My Treveylan will be a rogue - and devastated that her older sibling dies at Haven (I presume, like in Origins, that all potential Inquisitors exist and perish there).

She'll be devout, but not inflexible. I think of her as Maria Von Trapp, only armed (and no singing!). How do you solve a problem like Trevelyan?

I think that was Tantervale. And it was a party city, it didn't have a circle.

I've already headcanoned for a Mage Trevelyan, their mother visited them sporadically over the years, but their father is ridiculously pious and so now refuses to speak their name and has never bothered to visit them once in the Circle. Because of this, Trevelyan tends to be wary about establishing relationships due to being afraid of rejection.

I'm aiming to make my Trevelyan's backstory as tragic as the game will allow me, LOL!

Twin Fangs was my favourite move in DA2 - stoked to see it back :)

Is Flank Attack bascially the same things backstab then?

I'm gonna have to sit there with a mirror to the side of me so that I can see myself next to the CC in order to try and make myself! I genuinely took a picture of my eyes earlier so that I could get a good look at what colour they actually are so that I can recreate them in the bloody character creator!

It's Wycome actually. Tantervale's the dour, super pro-Chantry city.

I'm sorry, but I'm angry. I honestly do not think that Cullen should have been a romance option, if the huge divergence in availability that we have now was the direct result of that.

We don't know what made them go with such a big divergence, but I don't think Cullen can be blamed solely for that. Perhaps it's worth asking them directly?
