I think you're channeling my (US) Southernness. Yes, I really have called someone darlin' and sweet pea. In public (but only when in a non-professional situation).
I love your art, and I think you do a great job of adapting ideas and giving them your own twist.
excuse me my ignorance, but i don't know practically nothing about US (except where it is on the map) or different things related to this country and its customs ^^"
i think i just catch of all the things about the english language i find on the interwebs (:

Also a Southerner. Go Tigers! (Actually, Go Trojans but no one has heard of my real alma mater).
Trojans? USC? I've been known to cheer for the Vols, the Wildcats, the Gators, and the Longhorns (my family and friends are spread around a bit).

Which makes it funnier since sweet pea is a very regional usage for someone, and not even used that much here.

When my friends and I went to DisneyWorld we got stuck on "It's a Small World" ride...it was traumatizing...it played over and over and OVER again! Long story short we were stuck on it for about a hour or so...we debated just jumping into the water and swimming from that nightmare...*shudders*

Let's see...I was born in Alabama, but had to move to Tennessee, and then Kentucky. Now I'm in Kansas and sorely wishing that I could go somewhere that wasn't...familiar? Yeah, that's what it is.

Amusingly, I've heard it occasionally used by people in the South of the UK as well. I often use it whenever I talk to my cats.
