Seriously, it was interrupted by Slipknot? If that's true, I kind of want to hear it anyway.

Seconded! Including a random scene of Greg Ellis fighting robots... for some reason?

Yeah, Greg Ellis was tweeting about it the day he recorded it. From what I could tell from the tweets, it happened on and off all during the session.  :(

If she's alive, Sebastian leaves you for Bethany at the end of DA2.

Search your feelings, you know it to be true.

That's why I left her in the Deep Roads...

Yes Lady Lavellan has some wonderful artwork on Tumblr and elsewhere. I think she put together a music track mix to go with that picture of Cullen on 8tracks, I'll go check.

You mean like when Fox News used an image of a bombed out Washington DC as "proof" of the evil intent of various groups overseas... only for the average internet gamer to try to hold in their laughter long enough to point out that it was just concept art for Fallout 3?

(Which is even more ironic, considering that one of the most evil groups in Fallout 3 was the fascist remnants of the US government, who Fox would probaby love)

Journalists really need to start double-checking sources, because twitter and the net seems to have made the media frickin' lazy lately?

This one was grand too.  And when you consider how Columbia society worked...

Nah. Beth already gets Sebastian in my manHawke playthroughs, she can sit down and take five when femHawke is in charge. ;)

Same as whoever ends up macking on Cullen if we leave him unattended. Cass or Josie can have him when I'm playing manquisitor, but otherwise he's mine. :P

Article-Header_940x190.jpg

Two weeks ago, Dragon Age fans were introduced to Skyhold—the Inquisition's base of operations—through an article from our friends at Game Informer. Following the article, we caught up with Dragon Age: Inquisition producer Cameron Lee to ask a few follow-up questions.

In part 2 of this interview series, Cameron discusses the war table, the role of your advisors, and more!

[DRAGON AGE]: All three of the Inquisition's advisors have been introduced, but can you tell us more about their role in the Inquisition?

[CAMERON LEE]: Leliana, Cullen, and Josephine are your primary advisors in the Inquisition. They represent the three pillars of power: espionage, military, and politics. Each of them leads a contingent of agents they send out on operations that help you in your search for and battle against the Elder One.

Blog-Asset-2_WM_675x380.jpg

[DA]: So, each advisor has a specific area of expertise?

[CL]: Exactly. Leliana is the leader of your agents who uncover secrets, assassinate enemies, and sabotage your enemy's organization. Cullen leads your military, so he's focused on building your army and training and equipping your forces so you can use them as a hammer against the Elder One. Josephine uses political power and diplomacy to advance your Inquisition's cause. Each of the advisors will want to approach challenges in different ways, but it's your choice about which action to take.

Leliana_other_nonENG_675x380.jpg

[DA]: What types of tasks can you carry out from the war table?

[CL]: There are over 300 missions and operations available on the war table, and they can change depending on your previous choices and actions in the game. There's a range of types: scouting missions to establish the first camp in a new area you'd like to explore, building missions to raise structures in the areas you've being exploring, recruitment missions to bring expertise into the inquisition, treaties, resource-gathering, political assassinations, and many, many more.

Blog-Asset-_WM_675x380.jpg

[DA]: How will players gain influence and power for the Inquisition?

[CL]: You earn influence and power as you explore, overcome enemies, bring stability to regions, complete quests, and close rifts between the world and the Fade. You spend that influence and power at the war table when you send your agents on an operation or begin a new major story plot.

[DA]: What do you get from completing operations through the war table?

[CL]: Operations will give you different rewards such as gold, rare crafting materials, weapons and equipment, new recruits, and even the ability to rebuild structures you've seen on your adventures.

[DA]: Will the advisors have different opinions on the best way to complete an operation?

[CL]: Each of your advisors will want to approach an operation in a different way, which will help determine the outcome and rewards for completing the operation and can potentially affect any follow-up operations.

[DA]: Okay. Are you ready to talk about judgments now?

[CL]: Let's do it!

Join us later this week for part 3 of our Skyhold interview with producer Cameron Lee, who will talk to us about judgments in Dragon Age: Inquisition!

On chaste v. celibate, I do actually think they were using the terms interchangeably, but I think they also left themselves, intentionally or not, a linguistic loophole. I think a lot depends on Sebastian's actual status within the chantry. And presumably the Chantry would consider releasing someone from their oaths anyway for dynastic reasons. Wasn't there something in DA2 about Sebastian having to renew his oath (at least I was told something about it), so there's also wiggle room on the idea of a "limited duration" oath, maybe?

Yes, aren't there exchanges between him and Elthina about whether he's going to renew his vows and stay with the Chantry, or return to Starkhaven as its ruler?

But Wiki says 'Even though a romance can be made with Sebastian, he will never actually sleep with Hawke due to his vow of chastity.'

What's worse is with every screenshot of Leliana they release, the more I'm irked that we can't romance her (even if she's single)?

We could have had an Achievement "The Rawr Table" if we slept with all three of them!

Maker help me but my Inquisition will end up being the most pragmatic, punch-first-ask-questions-later militarized force ever, because I can already see myself going for Cullen's plan every time. Leliana is like "we should steal their secrets" and Josephine is like "we should bribe them with a scandal" and Cullen is like "we should burn their gates down and punch everyone in the face" and I will totally be going yeeeees okay whatever you say~ *heart eyes*

I will lose this Inquisition to a paralyzing inability to say no to dat Noodle. -_-

Quick question: wasn't there a picture sometime early in development showing that there would be a CGI trailer? I remember seeing actors wearing suits with the little dots everywhere. Or am I thinking of something else?

I'm inclined to a mix of Leliana and Josephine's approaches. Cullen gets to...stand around and look pretty?

I've actually worried about this tendency.  Because I can never manage to leave whatever LI my characters are romancing back at "camp" whenever they're fighting.  What the heck makes me think I'll be able to do anything other than what Cullen advises, considering he'll only open his mouth and start talking and my brain goes, "Gaahhh!"  Only to keep him talking, mind you.

I'm that pitiful, sigh.

Edited for top:

I always liked this scene in Broken Circle, for my mage.  Wynne was so understanding of Cullen's anger, didn't blame him.  And her calm helped my little mage.

This is OT but am I the only one not bothered by the age bracket of our Inquisition? Blackwall's old enough to be my father and Solas almost is, but it doesn't faze me.

@Jtav, personally I don't have that problem as in RL I'm in my 40s...I'll be RPGing a quizzy of approx. 30, so I don't really have an age difference issue.

Blackwall and Solas are in their 40s? Cullen from my calculations is mid to late 30s...
