Actually, the person who made that Inquisitor said the guy does have vallaslin - it's just very faint and can't be seen in that shot.

The one I was writing has turned into a full scale monster, so I'm keeping it for a full Inquisition fic when the game comes out. However Varric is twirling a crossbow bolt and means business...sheesh Cullen did you really say that to the Inquisitor?

ugh thanks the maker for this thread! (because folks here, seem like the only sane left in the fandom) i just made my usual tag checking on tumblr... and again some a-holes started to talk about "how racist solas and cullen are because THEY HAVE PREFERENCES" jfc, i hate social justice warriors, and they are too much visible on the tumblr >.< does it make me racist too, because i am not sexually attracted to some race (even if i have nothing against befriending people of this or any race at all!). it hurts me when people so easily attach negative name tags to others, just because their point of view doesn't meet theirs. it hurts me when someone speaks bad things about my fav characters .__.

and now i'm in a spoiled mood for the rest of the day :/

 

on the other hand... woah i only went to sleep, and immediately this thread rushed forward ;p damn time zones.

i must admit... i'd always been playing every game, more from a position of a viewer than an active participant. hadn't put much thought into the lore, or decisions i had been making. it was more like a "i just wanna see what happens next if i press this button". but as i become more committed to my upcoming dai playthrough, i want to know more and more about every aspect of the universe, so not a single thing will escape my attention (:

it was so interesting to read about your thoughts, game playthroughs, and lore knowledge, that i think i need to do my homework about that.

 

ohhh and i'm so excited for the CC!!! frick yeah freckleeees! tho i hope we will be able to choose "lore-friendly" vallaslins too, not only some weird tribals. i want to create my quizzy accordingly to the game universe :c

My first Inquisitor is probably one of my more emotionally resilient characters, so I'm less worried about her and more worried about her potential LIs too    If the romance goes badly, she'll be able to get over it eventually, but Cullen has had so many awful things happen to him that I don't wanna add to that list.

 

I've been thinking lately if late in the relationship if we'll be able to break up with our LI... along the lines of "It's going to get really bad/I might die, I want you to move on & be happy..." kinda thing...

All this talk about Alistair and heirs... why the bloody hell didn't Morrigan offer for the ritual to be done for the warden & Alistair?!... probably not possible (probably wouldn't want her in the room if required either) but would of solved a few problems esp for a HN Queen Cousland needing to produce an heir, maybe she could of fallen pregnant during the blight? After all there is a little window of opportunity and I like to think there was the smallest chance?(even after a couple of months maybe, let me dream please?) I'd also like to think there may be another way for a warden, regardless of race, to be able to find a way to have an child/heir through magic.

As for Cailan having bastards, it's quite possible he was the barren spouse and not Anora

Why would Morrigan care about the Warden and Alistair having a baby ? Plus, the ritual might require the archdemon to be killed to ensure the baby's survival.

I don't want to shatter dreams, but I personally doubt every Fereldan rulers combo, will produce a heir.

I personally think every combination will result in an heirless Ferelden and a succession crisis down the line.

Yeah I know  Just thinking about it, plus Morrigan wants the child for something and the archdemon was always going to die.

I doubt Morrigan's child would play a big roll in DAI considering DR is an option, I wonder if the child would be mentioned at all?

Alistair's window of opportunity would close at some point to have a child with anyone untainted.

Although I was a bit "dreamy" about it all, I tend to agree... makes you wonder further down the line whose line will take over.

I suspect this is the reason Morrigan didn't offer to perform the Dark Ritual on a female Warden romancing Alistair.
I am curious about the Dark Ritual, though, and how magic can affect fertility. You'd think such spells would be common in a society where bearing heirs is a big deal, but I guess it would have to be blood magic considering it deals with the body. Not that it is likely to happen in-game for a female Warden; I think Potato Cat hit the nail on the head about a succession crisis.

Sometimes people have their own weird agendas...weird because this isn't a race issue, but a species one. No-one has called them speciest...does that word even exist? Horses and donkeys are not the same species...even though they can interbreed. Personally I don't find all men attractive, I certainly don't find the historical reconstruction models of Neanderthals attractive. Why can't people just accept that other people have preferences (though in this case the devs actually said that they only had time for the construction of one set of height models...so really it is a dev thing, not a Cullen thing)

And sometimes I think people just like to complain and are happiest when unhappy. Those people generally (but not always) can't be reasoned with.

I take all of that with a grain of salt, the only thing that really upsets me now is if they take it out on the devs, they don't owe us anything, we should be grateful they're making the game(s) at all and will consider what they can. We always have a choice to buy the game or not, just like we have a choice in how we react no matter how hurt or upset we may be.

Just my opinion though.

Guys, let's not also bring this controversy in here. There are also a range of opinions on this topic here. Until we see what the "story reasons" are in game, it's an open question... that needs answering.

Teagan can be married at the end of DAO to either Bella or Kaitlyn, yes, though not necessarily. He could very well married someone else though. I think his children and Fergus' will fight for the throne, though it's possible that the civil war will be during Fergus and Teagan lifetime.

Nah, it's true... I tend to forget or not pick it up so it's always good to pick up things from reading what you both write/say.

 

As for Guerrin v. Cousland, maybe the Maker will be nice and bless then with boy/girl for marriage purposes. I tend like both Fergus & Teagan and hard to believe they would wage war but their children could do anything esp if a political marriage cannot be made. Couslands from what little I do know would have a stronger claim, no?
