Yeah, I think it will be like this. 1-2 minutes of us doing our thing, depending on our race. Skulking in the background spying, if you're Dalish. Representing the mages if you're a human mage. Being a guard if you're qunari (I think they're mercs, right?)
Then everything goes BOOM!
Hmm, so basically everyone we come with is going to die. Human warrior/rogue = your family; Mage human = your mage friends and...your family, if you run into them there. Qunari = your band of mercs; Dwarf is spying too right? I imagine not alone. As well for the Dalish spying, prolly with a friend.
Then boom. Hmm, redshirts. the lot of them.
I'd been planning warrior champion for Zhenya (IB), but people have pointed out that dwarven templars would be particularly good against magic, so I'm trying to think of a logical reason for her to have learned it. I kinda like the idea of the underworld type having the Champion spec, though.
My human mage, Ryumka (Cullen), will probably be a knight enchanter, though I might jump to rift mage if I like the abilities enough.
My qunari mage (Blackwall) will probably get the specialization that Ryumka doesn't because they both sound like fun.
My elven rogue (Solas) will probably get assassin since it fits the personality I'm projecting for her, but I'm pretty sure I'll end up with a second rogue, either dwarf or qunari, right after that who'll get tempest.
I'm not all that interested in reaver, artificer or necromancer right now, but that could change once I see them in action.
Meanies!
I call mine pet names... congratulate them, greet them. Like when Vilkas gives me a home cooked meal in Skyrim I sometimes say aloud, "Aww, thanks, sweetie ♥" (Then I thank god I'm the only one in the house because holy crap that was embarrassing.)
Or in DA2 when Fenris gets all mad, I'll just go, Oh, honey...
I'm a sap and a wimp
I do a mix of both.
Approach character: "HI HONEY
"
Giving character gift: "HERE HAVE IT I LOVE YOUUUUUU."
Character dies: "WTF DUDE YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO BE A TANK ****** ACT LIKE IT."
When character does a bad: "You ****** ******...I still love you."
*snort*
Hmm, that reminds me, i wonder if any of your family will try to kill you (even by accident). If you're human, there are alot of templars in your family...
They haven't really given an idea how much you get to determine what your relationship to the rest of your family is if you're a human mage. But if you're siding with the mages, I would guess most of your templar relatives might be a little less than happy with you. In DAO, they at least imply that the people from the other Origins existed, just didn't survive (particularly in both dwarven origins), so if that's the case here, that means the youngest brother/sister of the Trevelyan mage dies as well.
So presumably traumatic start for maximum tears for the human and qunari, possibly less so for the elves and dwarves, but I'm sure they'll be distrusted more because they were there as a spy.
Or if some of your Templar family sided with Lambert, or--gasp--what if they got turned Red? and you find out later.
The human background has your family with close ties and ppl in both the chantry priesthood and the templars. At sum point you had to run for your life after the circles erupted. They were hunting all "free" mages.
So, I wondered if we would cross their path, even long before we had to choose mage vs. templar.
Unfortunately, I always know now that whomever I'm starting the game with--they're prolly gonna die, or something. That's just the way it goes with BW ![]()
Less than 2 months to go....or what? 55 days? yeah I like 55 days. I just wanna play this already.

Oooh, I forgot abt that dynamic. That should be interesting. Everything goes boom, and here you are, the lone surviving-- Spy. Lol!

Yeah, I can't imagine why Cassandra would be suspicious in that case ![]()

I just want to see the bloody CC already so I can know if I can actually make the guys I see in my head. I'm kind of chewing my nails at this point because the only guys we've seen haven't been... well, it's not what I see
I don't think I could stand even more disappointment for this game ![]()
I mean I've been playing through ME again, and although my Shepard has a cute profile, he's nothing close to being as adorable as Kaidan or hell even Joker. It's like freaking impossible to make a cute male Shep. Ugh lol I don't want this to happen in DAI! (Luckily in DAO you can make positively adorable male elves and gorgeous male humans.)
Ha in swtor I am usually shouting....'Leave my healer alone!!!'. Usually the healer is my LI.. Doc/Quinn
I yell at Sten a lot cause I always click him accidentally. he's like.. you called? I'm like, no you just got your big fat head in my way.
Alistair it's usually...Something you need my dear? Ummm not really but since you asked, here's a kiss!
Is it really weird that I sometimes yell endearments at them? "Dangit, hon. Move yer tush!"
Oh, and I know about fat heads in the way. That one's always Khem Val, for me. Gah, that big lummox is always in the way! Doesn't help that I invariably level as a healer, either. Means I have to lug Khem along all the dang time! Corso is way better at staying out of the way. Probably why he's my favorite tanking companion.
Alistairs, "My dear ..." always make me go, "Aahhh."

I think it will be alright. They seem to have some pretty good tweaking abilities in the CC. You can even adjust the ears on the elves you create! Was not expecting that. So, I imagine you should be able to create a delicious male quizzy. ![]()

Khem Val does grow on you after a while, in a weird way.
And Alistair's voice when he's being sweet does kinda make up for the whining.

Let's hope so; getting to make the quizzy of my dreams would make up for a lot ![]()
But yes, indeed. I'm so looking fwd to playing around with that CC.
Speaking of companions getting in the way, yesterday Kaidan and Garrus were standing in such a way that I literally couldn't get out of the corner I was in. I had to use "throw" to blast them out of the way >.>
Ah, Torian and Quinn, two of my favorites (assuming those are SWtOR references). Though Torian was a LITTLE mild-mannered for a bounty hunter. Quinn was just fun to torment. Though I admit my favorite male LI was the pirate, Andronikos.
But yes, I yell at my companions all the time. Er, more like cuss at them for doing stupid things.
Torian was my favorite. He's the one who made me leap into studying every bit of lore surrounding Mandalorians I could get my hands on, and somewhere along the way I realized whoever wrote him did a really good job of capturing what sort of personality a born and bred Mando would really show in-game. And I'm just about finished with my Fic for those two, yay!

Oh, Fenris does that thing with "puppy dog eyes" and I'm always like, "Oh, darn. Can't stay mad at you. Just ... can't." I swear, that elf could have a total meltdown, throw every wine bottle in creation at the wall, and then look over at my Hawke with those eyes, and I'm melting.
My husband caught me at it a couple of times, "Dangit, it's the elf thing again, isn't it?" When they announced Cullen was a romance, he said, "At least he doesn't have pointy ears. Wait a minute ... he's blonde! Like Alistair! What the heck?! And swings a big-a** sword, too??!!" My hubby is a lean-framed, dark-haired guy with big brown eyes, and I absolutely adore his looks. He keeps saying he can't compete with blonde-haired warrior-types. "The ears were bad enough, stop it!" He about lost it when I found pictures of Kaidan's real-life model, mind you. Until I pointed out the guy's orientation, phew. Dodged THAT bullet pretty well.

Yeah...if I have the option, I think my Dalish elf will just fess up to the truth straight away. Cassandra already thinks she killed a frillion people and tore open the sky, what harm could the truth do on top of all that?

Maybe I'm just getting older and grumpier, but the last time I played DA:O with my main Warden was back in 2012. Playing it now, I notice a lot more of Alistair's negative qualities. Don't get me wrong, he's still ridiculously adorable, but I sort of swing between wanting to hug him and wanting to punch him into silence now ![]()

Funny. Yesterday my Shepard fell down into this space between two boxes and I literally couldn't get him out of there. I'm bumping him, moving him back and forth. Finally reloaded and killed all the baddies again, thinking the whole while how much ME really needs a /stuck option.

The DA2 comps do that alot. Especially when I have to go talk to Varric. Anders always pins me in somehow, I turn to go the other way and someone else is blocking me. Gah, shift it boys!
