Sheepers, no need to make fun of those of us who are depressed. You try rooting for a character for 2 years then seeing everyone else get him but you.

I have a different problem. I'm pretty flexible on both my gender and orientation and that of the LI. So coming up with characters who will romance Cullen and Cassandra without feeling like I'm playing the same character twice is proving something of a challenge.

My thoughts? Though they are alike in some ways, it seems to me that Cassandra seems more impulsive and aggressive, and Cullen more professional and, in a personal level at least, more reserved. I imagine Cullen's views on mages are much more deeply conflicted than Cassandra's if you want to play on that angle. From a practical standpoint, Cassandra can travel with the party while Cullen will rarely do so, so you could play with the always at my side vs. there when I get back dichotomy.

For these reasons, the relationship I imagine my Elke Trevelyan having with Cassandra is significantly different from what I imagine the relationship with Cullen might be - Elke's desire to negotiate and be clever both contrasting with and complementing Cassandra's approach while Cullen's calm professionalism will likely be less inclined to cause either frustration.

Cass and Cullen are so different. Cass has a quick temper and a strong will. Cullen is more thoughtful and even-tempered. In fact I think Cass will butt heads with my Auren Lavellan because they are so very similar, but he'll eventually come to respect her. It's hard to imagine how he'll react to Cullen since I still think of them as soul mates I'll probably try to ignore Cullen on that playthrough, go the Leliana route as much as possible.

 

But yeah, they're very, very different in my opinion.

Hey guys!  Its morning and I just woke up and I need coffee, and here I am making run on sentences because thinking is hard without that sweet sweet caffeine

 

In other news, EGX has been exciting!  I cant believe how fast November is coming!  (Some might say it's not, and I would argue, all you have to do is hand make 5 Halloween costumes/try to finish off three fictions before November... time reeeeeallllly flies).  And the artwork!  Ermagerd!  (grabby hands)  It's so beautiful!

 

I just have to say, if I was a dog, my rear would be going everywhere from violent tail wags of excitement.

I'm still pretty confused with my quizzies and their LI's. I kinda want to switch Tamarin to Iron Bull and Skye to Dorian. Then I could return Michal to be the man he was supposed to be and do another mageish character to Cullen. What to do what to do..

 

Then there is poor Valpur, rejected by everyone. I could romance Iron Bull with her but only if Bull can take her trash-talking of qunaris and will be willing to leave them in the end. Josephine might be option too.

Not a run-on, actually!  Perfectly sound, just lacking a few commas after those coordinating conjunctions

It's tough, rearranging love interests. I don't want to romance Bull twice, I mean not twice in a row, and with such different characters.  I'm waiting to see if Dorian gets a slight update... I'm fine with him looking as he does, but I'd like to see the hair on the mustache look... like hair... lol Because he could be okay with Auren, though it's weird for my self-insert to go after someone I'm not attracted to. 

 

But ultimately I think it will work out when we play the game; it might not be the glorious experience we were expecting six months ago, but it'll still be fun lol

Time does seem to be flying by, our clocks go back 1hr this weekend doesn't seem all that long since I was putting them forward lol.

One thing is for sure DAI is getting closer, I am so excited, it seems as if we have been talking about it for so long and now it's kind of around the corner..ish .

 

Although I will undoubtably replay many times I still haven't given any thoughts to alternative Inquisitors etc knowing me they will all end up pretty much the same lol.

 

I really hope my Inquisitor can get along with Cass, I think it might depend on how rough she is when quizzy is imprisoned. First impressions and all that. At the very least I imagine I will end up with a great deal of respect for her.

Cullen will be my main LI, I hope to wrap him around my finger and see two sides to him, the professional and the personal .

I see people having such doubts of who to romance with which Inquisitor and feel so weird about already knowing exactly which romance each of my Quizzies will pursue. Am I too perfectionist/OCD to have it all planned out to detail already?

Whether I'll actually enjoy all the romances I plan to pursue is another question, I guess. I've been let down by romances going in directions I didn't find fulfilling/wasn't comfortable with before... but it's been pretty rare. Choosing romance prospects is easy, predicting the outcome of each one without even properly knowing the characters is a lot harder.

While I planned sever characters with names, specs and LI, I only have one detailed enough. For the others I'll wait after my first playthrough.

I don;t really have any details for my inquisitors, just a chart with names (which I have revised recently), and races/classes/potential love interest.  It can all change on a whim though.  I don;t really choose a personality or anything until I'm in game.  Mine's more "bare bones" rather than even a framework haha.  Im a seat of the pants kind of gal.

 

And yay for legitimate sentences even though it doen;t seem like one =D

I used to have everything planned out but Solas' and Cullen's gating really changed up my plans. I had two qunari ladies for them, but it didn't work out so I started to change my characters and now everything is messy XD

 

I think I need more information of characters to know for sure who fits with whom.

If I try to play more than one PC at a time in a game, I start getting the streams crossed in my head, even if the characters started out very different.  I start blending the personalities.  I had to finish the entire ME trilogy with my FemShep before I started ME1 with my ManShep.  So I only plan them out one at a time so my poor brain doesn't get confused

As of right now, I only have one Inquisitor planned out in detail too. My main one, Gale Trevelyan, will be a Rift Mage who will probably romance Dorian. I think that at the end of the day though, nothing is truly set in stone for my Inquisitor. In all honesty, in terms of romance, I could easily see him falling in love with either Dorian or Iron Bull, as both seem like my Gale's kind of men. As to Cullen, I could either see my Inquisitor having a really great relationship with him, like a brother, or an antagonistic one due to what Cullen represents. It really depends on Greg's delivery of his lines and if I can believe in the sincerity of the character within DAI.

I think I definitely need new character with Cullen though. Michal doesn't work well since she's just too pro-chantry and pro-templar and I like conflict XD I don't think she and Cullen would just do any good to each other. So I'm thinking of doing knight-enchanter who would be more in pro-mage way.

The writer in me wants to plan a half dozen Inquisitors right now. The gamer in me remembers playing ME2 and being so gobsmacked by Miranda I abandoned my FShep to romance her. So I have flashes but only one Inquisitor in any detail. And all my Inquisitors are bisexual. Saves time.

Just wanted to throw this out for you guys.  Some enterprising fans started a casual multiplayer group, for DAMP.  If anyone might possibly be interested, I'll leave this here

I'm with many of you here, that I can only play one character at a time, or they start to blend personalities.  Like in ME3, I did a concurrent FemShep and MShep, but they were meant to have the same personality (so I could see the differences in some of the conversations with flirts and whatnot), but then when I started my FlirtMan Shep I had to not play him at the same time as anyone else lol.

The gating did give me a hiccup with Solas, but I literally just genderflipped the elven mage I already planned to romance him with (and it was rather easy to because I wasn't hard set on playing a lot of males anyway), so, granted, I wasn't hit the worst.

The one thing that IS throwing me for a loop right now is P.Weekes' tweet about how once you initiate a romance all other flirt dialogues will shut down. I don' t know if that means only once you "lock in" a romance, or if flirting with someone even once will lock you out of every other romance. The second would pretty much destroy my main Inquisitor's characterization, because she's a super flirt for very specific reasons, and that's not something I'm looking forward to changing about her. I'd still be willing to hold myself from clicking the heart icon with anyone else for Cullen's sake (see Noodle King, this is how much I love you), but ugh. That's a lot more headcanon-ing through the game than I'd like, specially when we were so free to flirt as much as we wanted in the previous games, even if it lead nowhere.
