I hate hope, my Inquisitor is an emo, dammit!"

My inquisitor is going to be wearing thick eye liner and a choker instead of a circlet, spot on!

To be honest, for how much BW loves our tears, I got the impression from I dunno, probably one of DG's blog posts that they still believe in offering the epic happy ending. So, I don't see us slowly dying or going mad without a way to save ourselves from it. Particularly since there will be no sequel featuring our Inquisitor where we can save ourselves, so you'd be stuck with your depressing epilogue. If there's something they must've learned from ME3 (and I say this as someone who didn't play the games, only saw the backlash), it's that players want their happy ending.

Red all the way!

Nah, they'll proabably change it to something fancy with the new engine...like maroon or scarlet :3

It certainly would be interesting if our mage was tranquil before the Veil tear.

Wow I didn't even think of that!!!  :o

Oooh what if mages are half demons or have some kind of demonic influence about them, something different to abominations. That might explain why they have the ability to seal the rift...maybe?

Me too! I bet there will be some downside to being able to close veil tears. Maybe the more power/larger the main tear grows, or the more power the "big bad" generates the more negative effects start afflicting our Inquisitor or something?

Gah, out of likes again. You people need to stop being agreeable/funny/insightful/awesome, my Likes cannot keep up! :P

I'd love something like the above, too! Some greater mechanic in the game where the more efficiently you work as the Inquisitor the more likely you are not to bone yourself over making your way up to the big show down. But I'd also just love it if closing any individual year has a definite draining/negative impact on the Inquisitor that can be surmounted but is still acknowledged... That would totally make the special-snowflake thing a little more "humanizing" to me in that we aren't super indestructible/untouchable.

It worked for ME (I KNOW I KNOW, Most of you hate it and have made that abundantly clear, and most of the time I keep my mouth shut, but I happened to love the ending :P) but I don't think that kind of sad ending will work for DA because DA is more of a high fantasy, where you play the hero who saves the day and gets the girl (or boy).

Why would you want eggs on your face?!

Well I was thinking, we could be about to be made Tranquil, and then boom, it doesn't work!

Ooo, perhaps Cullen will start to worry about the inquisitor?  :o interesting stuff  :D

Maybe we'll catch a quick look at the gold/black city whilst we're trying to close the thing... or maybe we'll see it during the initial breach that we're the soul survivor of? Get a little flashback of the Magisters trying to storm the Golden City the first time around or something.

... Oh gawd, what if we're some how tied to the "big bad" due to it. Kinda like with Harry Potter and Voldemort, so by killing him/her it could potentially kill us? That's probably kinda cheesy, but I'm just throwing theories around.

It's just something I say when I'm embarrassed because I missed the point of the conversation. Which happens frequently.

LOL, c'mon, seriously, I can TOTALLY see a whole thread devoted to how such a spirit is totally too constraining for their PCs dark and tortured soul/badass über-bossness!!!!

Yesssss. This. and, you know, any LI/companion. With various degrees of "How can I save them?" To "when am I going to have to put them down?"

I have this image in my head of the Inquisitor closing up his/her umpteenth tear (it's been hurting him/her more each time, but until now he/she has been able to ignore the pain of it). As the veil closes the Inquisitor, visibly in pain, drops down to his/her knees. The companions (and LI, if there) run over to help him/her and as he/she looks up at them you see blood drip from his/her nose.

Well, I wasn't gonna say anything but that green glowing little zig zag on his/her hand was very Harry Potter-esc in shape!

Ex-tranquil inquisitor would be really intresting backstory. I wonder how Cullen would react to tranquil mage who isn't tranquil anymore. In DA2 it seemed like he really thought tranquility was good choice for some mages, perhaps he wouldn't think so anymore after witnessing tranquil mages getting their emotions.. their souls back and starting to act like proper human beings again. I just hope I can beat some sense in him about tranquility being big no-no since it's only thing I really disagree with him XD I can't see tranquility being good in any case.

Like the reason they survived... whatever, is because they were Tranquil, but that also restored their soul and powers and then some?

An intriguing idea! ^_^
