I have this image in my head of the Inquisitor closing up his/her umpteenth tear (it's been hurting him/her more each time, but until now he/she has been able to ignore the pain of it). As the veil closes the Inquisitor, visibly in pain, drops down to his/her knees. The companions (and LI, if there) run over to help him/her and as he/she looks up at them you see blood drip from his/her nose.

That would also give me an excuse for my Inquisitors to be totally b*itchy and not give a sh*t about anyones personal problems. I feel like my Inquisitor could care less about strangers problems, like a farm robbery or whatever :P "I don't care! I have more important sh*t to do, like save the world."

Sorta cliche, but omg yes I could totally see this happening!  Maker knows being able to have that kind of power, to control openings to the Fade and Demons like that cannot possibly come w/out a cost.

Yesssss. This. and, you know, any LI/companion. With various degrees of "How can I save them?" To "when am I going to have to put them down?"

As far as I'm concerned that could be the main plot of the game and I'd be perfectly happy.

Oooh! That sounds pretty awesome,I like it!And if the LI isn't there when that happens he/she confronts them about it later.

And what if the Inquisitor ends up passing out because of the physical drain closing the tears has been having on them, and they wake up later with their LI hovering over them all concerned. Maybe their LI wasn't even there with them and they had to witness the Inquisitor being brought back to camp/base unconscious. Just imagining that, especially if the LI is Cullen, is

Agreed, but anything like that to show that the Inquisitor isn't just a special snowflake with a super awesome power would work. I guess I'd just like to see the very mortal side to our character, like in ME3 when the stress and pressure started to get to Shepard and you could see just how vulnerable and helpless she/he really was.

It certainly would be interesting if our mage was tranquil before the Veil tear.

Hell, Lola, that little snippet was enough to give me chills. I could easily picture that. If I wasn't in school working on 3 research papers, I'd be writing a fic about it RIGHT NOW.

Seriously, I'd like if if there's the option of having the left hand as the dominant hand.

We know absolutely for sure that we can close tears. But does that mean we can also open them?

Ex-tranquil inquisitor would be really intresting backstory. I wonder how Cullen would react to tranquil mage who isn't tranquil anymore. In DA2 it seemed like he really thought tranquility was good choice for some mages, perhaps he wouldn't think so anymore after witnessing tranquil mages getting their emotions.. their souls back and starting to act like proper human beings again. I just hope I can beat some sense in him about tranquility being big no-no since it's only thing I really disagree with him XD I can't see tranquility being good in any case.

I think Cullen is naive and can't/doesn't want to believe that it's really a death of the perverse kind that. The soul is disconnected and lost to the Fade but the body lives on? Yeah, I imagine most Andrastians would be horrified not have their final rights. I wonder if the discombobulated souls are warped by that existence? *gasp!*  :o  Maybe they become demons or shades or vengeful sprites of the Fade?  :crying:  At any rate, I think Cullen needs to wake up about what Tranquility is. He's been drinking the kool-aid too long. ;)

As for an Inquisitor who is a former Tranquil? I think he'd be veeeery suspicious of him/her for a looooooooooong long time.

One of the magazines stated that we'd be able to do so in combat and summon spirits/demons, but I'd take it with a grain of salt.

I'm suddenly terrified  :crying: What a kick in the nuts to have Cullen finally fall in love, only to lose that person in order to save Thedas. Even worse, what if the Inquisitor is eternally stuck in the Fade in order to keep the tears from re-appearing

Yeah...I can see just closing tears...but opening them ourselves? That'd be potentially game breaking, in my opinion. Unless it was an ability that could only work under a set of strict circumstances.

I've always hoped that if Alistair done the dark ritual then the kids personality would be exactly like his and irritate the hell out of Morrigan with his daft humour!

Me too.

Double points if the kid looks exactly like him too. Theirin genes seem to be very dominant.

YEEEESSSSSS. it is a little cliche, but just the sort of cliche I enjoy. Especially because it would highlight the cost, yes, and I really hope there is one, rather than just being an insta-demigod.

For the most part I agree that tranquility is horrid and a fate worse than death. But then you can take a Mage like, oh, Denarius and suddenly... I'm not quite so opposed to the idea, bad as that might be of me.

But the idea of a Mage inquisitor being a former tranquil IS intriguing... Not sure where the idea came from (has it been hinted at anywhere outside of certain events in Asunder?)

The only other time Tranquility reversal has been touched on was DA2 with Karl. That and Asunder.
