Jtav, maybe? I'm planning Zhenya Cadash and Ryumka Trevelyan for my first two runs, but I'll play them simultaneously so no waffling for me. I'm pretty sure I'll create Zhenya first just because I'm really looking forward to playing with the CC for dwarves. And I'm kind of curious about how they'll manage the sword-at-the-throat scene with Cassandra when the PC is a dwarf.  ^_^ :P

Yeah I actually would like to play a female dwarf! They look so cute in the CC. Oh, oh, I would also like to see Cass point her sword at a hulking male qunari  Brave gal!

Yay. Thank you, Tishina :) So it seems to be a new thing.

And about the waffling, I'm really set on my first game but the second one that is supposed to be a Cullen romance, yeah, sometimes I get hyped about playing other PCs and think about changing the order. But I still think it's gonna be my 2nd game.

Well, we already know she's tough as nails (one of the reasons I really like her), so I don't think she'll blink at threatening a qunari warrior. But it could be funny seeing her trying to put her sword to a dwarf's neck. It's too bad we can't control our PC's expressions, though, my Cullen-romance mage would do a Spock eyebrow thing at Cass. Kind of a non-verbal "Really? You think I'm not only that powerful, but also so stupid that I'd leave myself in the area of that blast knowing a ex-Circle mage survivor is going to be particularly suspect?" I'm still wondering if Cass will be alone, or if Cullen and Leliana (and Varric?) will be with her. We'll know soon, at least.

And yes! They look so cute in the CC now (though I loved them in DAO too).

I'm dead set on my first playthrough, human archer romancing Cullen. She was my first Inquisitor concept, and still the one I'm most enamored with. Also, Cullen. That's not even a question. I would not survive a first playthrough not romancing Cullen.

But I am waffling on my second playthrough. Part of me wants to go with my Solas-romancing Dalish mage, but a bigger still part of me wants to go with my Josephine-romancing qunari warrior. I'll probably end up going with lady Adaar first because I <3 warriors, but my love of elves does give me pause. Poor lady Cadash is relegated to fourth playthrough regardless because I think she and Sera could be cute together, but I'm kinda meh on Sera still. And then there's that elusive male Inquisitor I sorta intend to play some day to romance Dorian with, but every time I think of playing a male character I'm just like eeeeeeh yeah, maybe some day.

So I'll probably go Trevelyan -> Adaar -> Lavellan -> Cadash, and then who knows. Probably going back and romancing Cullen all over again.

That's it, my Trevalyan is having a fancy pants name! I couldn't decide between Alina and Adele anyway. Alina Adele Trevalyan it is! Trevalyans are supposed to be noble anyway, right :P

What about Adelina? Its a cross between the two. Its a real name too and still means noble/nobility.

My very first playthrough is human Mage who is romancing Cullen. That is the definite. Everything else is going to depend on who I want to romance next. Part of me wants to romance Solas next but...again, we'll see. Who knows? I might go for Iron Bull next! XD

URGGGGH Solas should've been bi. I would have enjoyed romancing him.

To be honest, I thought he was going to be bi, so I was surprise to learn he was for elven females only. It actually intrigues me to learn what "story reason" they have.

BUT...if I had to go with my initial feelings...I would've wanted to romance Varric, and I was disappointed that I couldn't.

Which shall I play first?  It was a toss up between Elke and Sasani for the longest time, so i went to write a character sketch for both.  I posted Elke's on the page 3000 celebration, but when I went to write Sasani's, I got to where Cassandra was getting aggressive and...I know this sounds weird...but Sasani refused any of the dialog I tried to get her to say.  Said she wasn't as afraid as I had made her out to be, that she had been a Circle mage of high rank, and she was Elke's OLDER sister, not younger.  Also that she wanted to be called Sani.  :o  Sooo...I'll have to get to know her better before I play her, I guess.  Heh.

Therefore, Elke first and she will be romancing Cullen.  The Sani, I suppose, unless Aralan decides to "speak up".  :D

I'm disappointed that we have to wait longer for a dwarven romance, but I'm probably the exception in being kind of glad it isn't Varric. I didn't like the idea of competing with Bianca, in any sense, but I feel really bad for those who wanted him (including my daughter). I'm hoping this dwarven scout leader is a future companion/LI myself.

In some ways, if Bianca was dead, it would be interesting to have a romance with Varric. However, you do have a point on that.

But yeah, I think I want a dwarven romance more than anything else. If I could have that, I may not romance Blackwall...or Iron Bull. All depends on who I like.

*snort* There are few "story reasons" I can think of to make a character straight. I'm sure they concocted a reason though as to why he'll only fall in love with an elf. But it comes down to resources and time. They had a little time to add more romances, so they picked Solas and Cullen. Both race-gated and gender-gated because they couldn't afford to do otherwise. And straight because, as a dev mentioned previously, it just would be unheard of to make an "extra" LI gay.

It is what it is. It's a massive, massive disappointment, when I think of all the romances I'll be missing out on. I mean I only ever played one romance in DAO, and same with ME. But I've played all the DA2 ones. It's just sad (for me personally).

It's why I felt like they shouldn't have added them at all if they were just going to gate them so heavily. But then even more fans than me would've missed out. And I'm sure the remaining Cullen and Solas fans wouldn't want that :(

Yeah no, if it's a choice between gated Cullen or no Cullen at all, I'm sorry but I'll go with gated Cullen. Same with Solas. Having more fans unhappy doesn't make it fairer for anyone.

They chose them because they were the only ones who made sense. Varric is because of Bianca (and even then, I believe he would've been straight), Vivienne for some reason or another. I can accept that. And before you say that is an official reason, we don't know anything of the characters. With Varric, we do know there is his relationship with Bianca, and it is possible that she is alive. It would be hard to have a romance with him and make it believable if she plays a part in his story in this game. Vivienne...I have no thought of what it could be. I am not going to lie. So if it was hard to write them as romances, but easy with Solas and Cullen--both whom happen to be straight--then I say go for it. Because I would rather see them write a romance that makes sense than write a romance that doesn't and it winds up being bad.

But again...I don't even know if any of the four LIs for straight/bi females are going to be good.

Just coming from a very personal place, I do wish they hadn't made Cullen a romance at all because every time someone talks excitedly about romancing him, it's like a dagger through the heart lol

Well yeah nobody wants romances that don't make sense.

I have a feeling Bianca shows up in DAI. Love rekindles  That's gonna be sweet. (Though, again, I'm intrigued by what-might-have-been concerning a Varric romance.)

I'm sure Vivienne has an EXCELLENT reason for not being romance-able (no sarcasm there actually). Cause otherwise I imagine it would've been her and Solas/Cullen who were added (not both Solas and Cullen).

But I'm just saying Cullen and Solas were obviously written as straight romances due to time and resources. I think it would've been fairer to make Solas bi and elf-only and leave out Cullen completely. Of course that would still leave lesbian PCs with only two choices.

Oh, meant to add, I think chances are good that at least one of them will  50% chance four times in a row... come on :P

In all seriousness, I personally believe all the romances will be marvelous. It's BioWare.

It would've left the straight males and lesbian PCs with only two choices. Either way, it was unfair. And how do you know they weren't already written straight beforehand? In fact, Cullen was written straight since Origins.

DANG!! Wow, kudos; it's hard to keep up with long fics like that :D Though I am proud to say I've never abandoned a fic. EDIT: I just have a habit of ending them rather abruptly lol

Well...(glances at Sebastian) that remains to be seen. And I personally didn't like the Anders romance that much, but that was due to what he did at the end...(grumbles).

Still, I think all of them should be good. I just don't want my hopes to get too high. :P

I don't abandon my fics, some I just bounce back and forth from. They will all get completed eventually lol. Although, my KOTOR ones, probably won't, so ok those are probably abandoned lol
