I think Alistair gets more whiny when he doesn't like you and you take that attitude towards him too ^^; He usually hates my wardens and thus I find him quite whiny as well. I don't dislike him but he's not one of my favs either.

I actually respected Alistair more, he avoids the macho man, take the lead, always right, stereotype that I've found common in games. He accepts his failings and limitations, passing lead to FemWarden very early on in game, rather than being seen as a weakness, I see it as a strength, he isn't protecting or defending an ego so he seems quite relaxed taking directions or orders from others. I suppose everyone will interpret it differently but that's my take on it anyway
.
I imagine Cullen is going to be quite commanding in the war-room, taking charge and giving orders, I think we'll see a different side in private though

Alistair was just simply a guy with a big heart who wore it on his sleeve. I'd call him more emotionally driven than whiny, and that's why he doesn't make the best leader, but at least he can admit that. ![]()

I like the drama within romances, but sometimes it varies within the stories. I think the only time I didn't mind a sad ending with a romance is Titanic, but considering what you learn about Rose after that event...it fit. So, if something happens and a LI dies, perhaps knowing your own character could move on like the LI would like could be a good ending to an otherwise sad one?

Rose should've got with Greg Ellis' little cameo character. Adorable!

Naaaaw, Liz ain't playing ball. I guess we'll just have to wait and keep our fingers crossed that he hasn't done all his healing between games.
They probably figure that would be too spoilery. But he'd be at the bottom of my list of candidates for LIs without something major to work out along the way, there are just too many possibilities for him already.

I think Leliana will be likely mourning the Divine's death, so she'll be all bitter and cold... for a while, at least.
Very true, did they finally confirm that Justinia died?
Just out of curiosity, would it be impossible for Leliana and Cassandra to realize that the organizations they are with failed. Just as Cullen seems to now realize that the Templars did not lives up to their mandate. Making this a group redemption?
I'm may not be a Cullen fan like many of you are, but it will be interesting to see how he has changed. I know that if Hawke does show up she will have a few things to discuss. (Not friends)

I'm an emotional wreck if something ends badly or sadly. doesn't matter what medium it's in or on lol.
Obviously, I'm going to have to play the game and see what happens but for me, if say Cullen dies towards the end of the game, I'm not sure I would have any motivation to continue playing post end-game. In fact, if it's really sad, I probably couldn't romance him again. I don't need bunnies and rainbows for it to be a happy ending but I don't want forced or unavoidable deaths of my LI or companions.

I have a feeling I'll be let down in the angst and romance department, but we'll see.
I don't doubt Cullen's romance will be amazing ![]()

*sigh* I really have to force myself to do a pro-templar playthrough before November. I've seen some clips on YT, but I feel like I'm probably missing a lot of little things by not doing it myself. It's so difficult to do since I usually play a mage for DA2 to keep Carver around, and it's confusing to RP a pro-templar mage that doesn't surrender herself to the Circle. The closest I can get is keeping Hawke sort of neutral until Mother dies, then have her go all anti-mage after. By then its more believable that she wouldn't turn herself in since most of them already know she's a mage at that point anyway.
I had the same problem when I was trying to force my mage to be "pro-templar" in order to see Cullen's extra scenes. I solved the problem by making her staunchly pro-mage, but someone who believed that change would be gradual and come about by education and setting an example. (I thought of her kinda as the Booker T. Washington of Mages' Rights.) That is, she wanted to show the muddles that magic was more useful than something to be scared of (truly meant to "serve man" blahblahblah). Using magic to defeat Arishok = good! Anders using magic to heal people in Darktown = good! The inciting incident for this mentality was when non-mages actually banded together to protect Anders in Act 1! For Hawke, this = progress!
Siding with the templars at the end was thus a no-brainer, especially given that extra sentence of justification Hawke can give a rivaled Merrill about trying to avoid as many casualties as possible. Cullen and Meredith knowingly let my Hawke go about her business despite being an apostate, which was proof (at least to this version of Hawke) that mages could peacefully co-exist with templars while living outside the Circle.
EDIT: Also, HULLO CULLEN THREAD! (Officially, that is.) I have a suspicion I will be spending many a cigarette-free smoke break hanging out on this thread
I solemnly swear to do my best not to ramble. *Pumps fist in air* My new battle cry shalt be "BREVITY!"

I actually liked Justina (In the dragon age movie) she wasn't a pushover woman who did everything by the book. She questioned herself and the other mother when Cassandre was accused of betraying the seekers. She actually had her own thoughts, You could see it on her face.

LOL Now I'm imagining a support group.
"Hi, I'm Cullen."
"Hi Cullen."
"I spent my whole life dedicated to the Templar Order Ideal, and it led to my torture by blood mages, betrayal by my superiors, and some weird ass giant statues trying to kill me."
*whole room nods in understanding*
