Either is going to go very quickly or drawn out like it has so far. I don't think we'll hear much more about the characters, in some regards I want to know more about Cullen but then I want to be able to discover it in game

I think there's still more about the advisers we could learn prior to launch. Well, I hope anyway.

Definitely. We have yet to see any scene with Josephine doing more than moving around the war table and nothing with her speaking. Not that I'd object to more footage of Cullen or Leliana, of course, but we already "knew" them.

Honestly? I really don't think so. I think it's going to be a pretty "Happily Ever After" traditional romance. I do think they really had the fans in mind when they decide to write the romance, and there probably was not time to toss in a whole lot of drama. Unless Cullen or the inquisitor dies no matter what at the end of the game, I don't see it being an angst-ridden romance.

I'd like to think so...then I remember that tweet. I can't remember which dev, DG or PW made a comment on a fanfiction and said that the author would not be disappointed. In the fanfiction the Elven Mage inquisitor returned to her clan pregnant with Cullens child, then sent it to him when it was born as she was unable to raise it within the Dalish system.

'I am steeling myself for what is to come' (Cullens voice in the Templar ending)....

Personal nightmares for the Cullen romance;

Ultimate Sacrifice variant, quizzy dies.

Cullen dies at Redcliffe, or saving quizzy at the end.

Cullen turns out to be some noble and dumps us.

Cullen betrays a quizzy he doesn't get on with like Maferath did to Andraste.

Elven quizzy goes back to clan leaving Cullen behind.

Human mage gets locked up in a new version of a Circle tower.

Human quizzy inherits Ostwick but has to marry a noble and Cullen isn't one.

Lyrium addiction.

I have spent too much time thinking about the many, many ways that Bioware may give us a tragic love story.... <_<

Huh. I finally got into the keep, and suddenly find that I'm not nearly as indifferent to it as I thought. Funny how that works. >_>

Since we can keep playing after beating the game, the Inquisitor is probably going to survive. Unless....

Hey everyone!

Been away a while trying to avoid spoilers as the date for the game comes closer!

How is everyone?  Any new, juicy Cullen tidbits?  Disappointed as I found out my imported dwarf female won't be able to romance him though.  Meh.

Ahem.  I'm an idiot.  You import the save not the character.   Being under the weather has my brain go blaaaaaaah.

Yay Cullen!

Actually you don't import a save game. You recreate most of your decisions online in the Dragon Age Keep and your game gets all the information from there.

And yay, 6 weeks 'til Cullen  =] .

Not meaning to go off topic, but I am on my second playthrough on DA2, with a male-mage Hawke who is a diplomat. In some ways, he supports the templars, but he sympathizes with the mages and does try to help. For example, he allowed Fenyriel to choose to go to the Dalish because they may know more about his magic than the Circle. However, he does have those associated with blood magic go to the Circle. The only reason he doesn't turn Merrill in because she seems to be using it for her people and not hurting anyone. So he wants to be able to convince her to stop using it. He is also going to enter a rivalmance with Isabela.

Here comes a predicament...Kelder, the mage who killed the elves. I am conflicted on what to do with that. On one hand, I can see Hawke spare him and send him back to his father, hoping he could help, and he thinks its the templars' job to choose his fate. That also helps me receive rivalry points with Isabela, which I DESPERATELY need. On the other hand...he did kill a Tevinter slave blood mage...granted he knew that the guards or templars probably wouldn't do anything to him...

If you need the points, you'd best just do what you have to do.  Do it on a separate save in case you change your mind!  :D

I'm assuming, out of 8 LIs, there are going to be at least a couple that almost have to end tragically (or perhaps since there are so many possible endings, different ones are tragic for different endings). But hopefully they aren't making them all tragic/unhappy endings, or playing the romance content will be considerably less appealing. I thought the DAO proportion - 1 in 4 - was pretty good (even if you marry Alistair, you know the lack of an heir is going to make for major problems, and if you both stay wardens, there's a good probability of the wardens sending you to separate assignments.)

Well, for whatever reason, the male romances seem more melodramatic. Alistair has everything related to the Wardens and Landsmeet. Anders and Fenris are...do I even need to explain? Leliana and Merrill are relatively smooth sailing by comparison. Even Isabela feels lighter.

So, yeah, I play a lot of lesbians.

If I'd played DA 2, I'd have had a hard time romancing anyone except Isabela. Anders is the definition of angsty, and Merrill drives me nuts. Fenris, well, broody is a very good description of him, and I just can't imagine any PC I created would have the patience that he'd need to heal up some of his problems. As long as you take Isabela on her own terms and don't expect her to be something else, she's fantastic.

Being optimistic here, but maybe it could be tragic depending on your choices? Like a Dalish Inquisitor chooses to either remain with the humans and Cullen or return to her clan?

I hope they give us choices, though either way will be a tough choice for a Dalish. Even if the Warden from DAO and the Inquisitor are sparkling heroic Dalish exemplars of goodness, I don't foresee huge improvements in general attitudes toward elves. For the humans, since the Trevelyans are not royalty, I don't think a non-noble spouse would be a real issue (it wasn't for Bann Teagan in a couple of the twists in the DAO ending, and he was not only related to royalty, Fereldan was a kingdom, not a city state). And I can't imagine most mage-Inquisitors would accept an outcome that resulted in a return to the old system (frankly, mine would be ready to start the Mage War part 2, which by itself would probably end a Cullen romance).

I still have the smug satisfaction of not having seen S4 yet, so none of my favourites are dead as far as I'm concerned right now. (Though I know two of them do die)

I just realised that a lot of this stuff, like upgrading armour, weapons etc is just like Bioware's SWTOR.
