Um, nope. I got it as mShep.
When does this happen?? I'm halfway through my ME2 playthrough so I'll be starting ME3 soon.

Ummm, it was not too long after the dinner date, I believe. Just go visit him in the Normandy before you attack the Illusive Man's HQ.

I don't remember exactly either. Just keep talking to him after the dinner date. For me, he's in that lounger chair in Starboard Observation.

Oh okay, yeah he just hangs out there and says random stuff. I guess I should click on him more ![]()
What dinner date?
The one on the Citadel. He sends you an invitation via message.
What dinner date?
Wait, what? I thought you had played ME3 already?

Okay is this the scene where they confess their feelings to one another? Or is this an additional meeting on the Citadel that I've never explored?!?!

I have! This is getting so confusing! ![]()

That would be the one, yes.

Oh okay... bummer; I was thinking I had some additional content to look forward to
I didn't realize that was considered dinner since it's clearly during the day plus they don't eat anything... they just sit and exchange like five lines of dialogue lol
Then afterward nothing happens... nothing... nothing... "Did I do something wrong? Did I fail to initiate the romance? Let me hit on Steve... Oh dang, Steve says I'm taken. That's news to me!" Then BOOM! Sex
If you talk to him enough, he'll suggest you go get sandwiches later. But, no, no new content although there's some cut content I wish could be added back in.

The romance is a little... stale and empty in ME (imo). It's so much more involved and woven into the story for DA. To me, the romance carries the story in DA (which is otherwise kind of a generic fantasy story), whereas the opposite is true in ME. The story is amazing and the romance is, hmm, okay lol

Kaidan's romance with m!Shep felt off to me. I really like Steve's romance. I thought it was very sweet and he's the only one that actually acts like he's romancing Shepard.

Kaidan's was great for me. It was one hell of a slow burn, but in that regard, the long time friendship before turning into romance in Me3 was a lot more powerful and realistic to me.
And nothing against Steve's romance, but I really felt like the rebound guy at first.
I imagine #DAIFever will be a real thing, post ship."Umm, hello, I can't make it into work today. Cullen says I can't get out of bed."
I have definitely already scheduled the whole launch week off work to spend with Cullen. ![]()
The best part of working where I do is that everyone knows I'm taking the week off to play the shiny new game with the handsome Ser Noodlehair of Shoulderpads on my desktop wallpaper, and they keep asking me how's my videogame boyfriend doing.
Soon, my pretty Noodle. Soon.

I hear you; I'm not hating on the dear boy
It was sweet, and oh gawd the tension on Horizon is beautiful. But just how it felt like absolutely nothing happened after the confession scene, until some 30 odd hours of playing time later, and suddenly he shows up in my bedroom o.O And the confession scene felt so lackluster. To me it doesn't compare to every single Hawke x Fenris scene ![]()
It's probably more about which characters/romances resonate with each person more ![]()

Kaidan's romance was great for me as well. I also felt the slow burn, but only with my f!Shep. ![]()

I agree, and to some extent, I was just so damn happy to finally have a mxm romance in ME that it partially makes me a bit biased.

Agreed. I wish the mSHep/Kaidan romance had its own specific dialogue instead of using femSheps. There was no cute and sexy banter between missions. It felt empty and hollow to me. Cortez/mShep were FANTASTIC. The romance felt so much more real to me. And my mShep's canon is that he survives and he and Cortez retire & live a life a peace and anonymity.

Yeah I didn't come to the series until all three were released, so I didn't have to wait and wonder.
I felt like it was pretty obvious Kaidan and Shepard were regularly having sex throughout the story (even more so when Citadel is taken into account), and the sex scene was just pushed to the end to give a nice romantic goodbye to the romance before everything went to hell. I thought it was well placed, for the context. The same wouldn't have worked in DA2 because Hawke didn't know anything was going to happen when she/he woke up that day, so goodbye sex might have spoiled the ending twist. But it would have worked in DAO - instead of having to gag and make retching noises through Alistair and Morrigan's sex scene before marching against the archdemon in DAO, I'd really have appreciated a proper goodbye scene to my romance there.
Similarly, I really hope that if we come to a clear last battle in Inquisition, Cullen can get a "goodbye" scene like Kaidan's. I don't wanna just up and leave him behind.
But! That's neither here nor there. Seeing as we're back to kissing and hitting it whenever we want and Liz mentioned her regular woo breaks, it looks like we don't have to worry about the first love scene coming too early/too late or there not being enough of it this time around. If we don't get a proper goodbye, at least we'll have the option to throw Cullen in bed and make our own goodbye at will.
See I didn't feel that at all. They should have put more effort into the dialogue and I would have felt it. Now Cortez and mShep had alot of sex between missions.

Well, I didn't play it either until the summer after ME3 came out initially, but even still I was really annoyed that I wasn't given the ability to romance anyone before I went all the way through the first two.
I sincerely feel for all the gaymers that had to wait practically forever to get the option.
