Guys has there been more spoilers revealed from the Art book? Everywhere seems to be exploding...and I am trying to avoid it, but are there new spoilers?! If so I will find these Russians and I WILL...wait...did I say that out loud? O_O

It's not from the Russians. The artbook is out today on kindle.

Yeah, the spoilers are legitimately obtained this time. And I found them helpful. I know who my party will be now, for instance.

WHAT!? IS that an accident...or was this supposed to happen? I already saw one major spoiler just scrolling through my email, so If I see another I think I may just go dark until DA:I comes out.

yes, because it got released on kindles today. i would definitely avoid other websites but here is pretty safe (the mods are pretty good about cracking down and deleting the visible spoilers) but yeah, avoid tumblr/reddit/4chan..i am not a happy camper because someone didn't tag a massive spoiler on tumblr. ><

This is my problem...on one hand I want to go find these spoilers but the one I saw already has me worried so I am torn...*sighs* at least these ones were legitimately obtained.

I guess they didn't change the release date for the e-book. The hard copy will still be out in November though.

That is surprising considering the Devs do not seem very happy with everyone talking about the spoilers, so I thought it was "accidently" released early.

Really? How the spoiler helped you? Can you send me a PM?

Hmm... what did he lie about?! I do wonder! Something he "told" us in DA2?

Well, he did start DA2 lying his arse off to her about Hawke tearing Ogres limb from limb, his Tony Montana moment with Bartrand, as well as his casual omission of the events of MotA and Legacy?

But if he did lie about something in the game that didn't happen as we saw it in-game, it's probably him stretching the truth here and there so that it'll come off as less incriminating for everybody.

This might be a little controversial, but I wouldn't mind to learn that Hawke actually was taking steps to attempt to oust Meredith from power and was far more involved in the various Act 3 conspiracies than we were lead to believe. Varric was just lying about it because it would have made Hawke seem far more culpable if they were also involved in a conspiracy to incite rebellion and sedition against Meredith, even if had absolutely nothing to do with Anders' mage rebellion putsch.

It would at least finally satisfy those who weren't happy with the lack of player agency in the game and appease those hated Hawke as a character because they weren't proactive enough. Call it a retcon, asspull or author saving throw, but I think it'd make Hawke a far more interesting character, if it turns out whether you played them good, bad and snarky, Hawke was actually far more complicated and devious than we ever imagined?

Could we just not even talk about the spoilers here in the thread? If you want to know about them, just ask, "Please add me to the spoiler group." What do you guys think?

OMG... no... I would hate this!!! It's assigning a personality and intention to our Hawke that we didn't. I definitely have some Hawke's who had no interest in what was going on in Kirkwall.

I just hope DA2 isn't completely retconned......

You know what screw it! Jtav if you could, would you send me what you know about the spoilers, this will be my last post about it. I already found out a major one on accident so I think everything else won't be as bad.

I wasn't saying that we should retcon the game and Hawke completely, or that it'd be necessarily a good idea to make them into that kind of diabolical mastermind, but just that it'd be kind of interesting to see a side of Hawke we didn't necessarily see in Varric's version and find out some stuff that Hawke was doing in DA2 that we never saw?

Nothing that would ruin the character, but I could see Hawke as maybe at least talking with some nobles about trying to get organised to get rid of Meredith. People are constantly mentioning it in Act 3, yet it was something that we never got to explore?

For a Pro-Mage, the reasons would be obvious, but for someone Pro-Templar, someone like Meredith is clearly bad for the Order and the stability of the city when she starts going off the deep end?

This would absolutely ruin my Hawke, for instance. She was legitimately pro-Meredith, did everything in her power to help Meredith retain her power and upkeep her reputation. (I know Meredith is crazy and I don't support her madness, but my Hawke was roleplayed like this on purpose, for very elaborate reasons including playing with concepts of disingenuous naivety, blind faith, and ultimate betrayal, in example)

My Hawke would never have conspired to oust Meredith, and to have that kind of motivation imposed on my character would ruin pretty much the entire concept of my playthrough. Things like subjective motivation should never be imposed on the main character if they can't be signaled through actual gameplay choices.

A dragon with 130k health? An underleveled Inquisitor and his companions?

I nearly always end up being underlevelled and majorly underprepared when it comes to fighting bosses, then frantically panicking when my companions start flatlining all around me. Of course, since DAI features a War Advisor, I suppose it'd be more fair to pass the blame for why we epically failed in combat, in a certain ex-Templar's direction...

Ironically I usually am ok with boss battles. It's random occurrences that usually kick my butt :D

Same here, actually.  My Hawke only killed the Bone Pit dragon because it was so close to Kirkwall (and had an awesome chestpiece as loot XD).  My Warden thought the dragons were beautiful and spared the one at the temple of Andraste's Ashes.

True, I could see why that kind of playthrough would make it incredibly jarring to watch Hawke reappear acting way OOC from the one in your import.

This is part of the reason I dislike how Revan is handled in TOR compared to KOTOR, as even despite the explanation hinted at in both the novel and the game, his actions and characterisation seem way, way off. Even as a Sith Lord and even as an amnesiac Jedi, there was a degree of logic in how he operated and enacted his plans, one that seems rather lacking in TOR.

I think Hawke's character was fine as it was, so I'm torn about wanting to see them in DAI in case it ruins them. I'm in that camp that does not want to see the Warden back either, unless they're seen from far away, doing something ridiculously awesome. Having them voiced, with a different personality and out of our hands to direct would just seem really wrong.
