My advise, always turn off Vsync and Anti-Aliasing. Both settings are pretty useless, but will always eat up alot of performance.

If you have those turned off then it should definitely improve the performance ;)

Do they bother using those in RPGs? Seems to be more of an FPS thing from what I've seen.

Will I be able to get it on all the highest settings though and still record it with Fraps?

Hmmm, I don't know that. I have zero experience with recording gameplay footage.

Each game always comes with Vsync and Anti-Aliasing.

Atleast that has been my experience.

Did DA:O and DA2 have it? I don't recall seeing it in the options.

I just checked and I can confirm that DA 2 has Vsync and Anti-Aliasing.

Christ, how did I not see it? I'll be sure to turn them off with DAI!

I made a mistake btw. Anti-Aliasing is actually not useless like I said.

A good way to compensate is to turn it on, but to lower the shadow quality, since those apperantly eat alot of performance as well.

But definitely turn off Vsync :)

Does anyone know if there's a DA2 mod out there where I can keep Hawke's default family appearance but change their skin tone to match his, without it automatically changing the families physical appearance from that of it's default.

But Vsync stops excess screen tearing, which in theory I'd get a lot of running it on the higher settings?

It depends. I personally rarely have it.

Unless you start swinging the camera around like crazy, it shouldn't happen that much.

I tested it out with DA2 and it was happening, so I imagine it would be worse with DAI

I suppose you just have to decide then what you want :)

You said you were gonna buy them eventually for both your pc and ps4 anyway, right?

Yeah, I kinda promised I'd do highlight videos of my first playthrough though.

I'm sure your viewers are willing to overlook a screen tear or two or lesser graphic quality ;)

Hehe, fair enough.

I also just realized that your specs are basically the same as a ps4, if not a bit beter. So in the end you wouldn't really lose anything you would have on the ps4, if you bought the game for pc.

I just hope it doesn't crash, like all the DA games seem to do on my PC.

@CuriousArtemis most older RPG had the concept of wizardly magic and divine magic. Some of the Templar skills were actually used by the cleric/paladin class in Neverwinter Nights (also a BW game).

What? I'm not sure what this is in response to xD

@Curious Artemis, sorry can't quote on IE11 on this forum....you were saying how it would be funny if Templar were mages.

I thought I was the only one with that problem. I once had the game crash twice in a row when I had the archdemon under 10% (I used profanities in several languages, including ones I thought I'd forgotten). I think in my case, it's the graphics card because if I turn the graphics setting to low for any fight I know will have a lot of AOE effects going off, etc., it almost never crashes.
