Maybe walk slider for next game? XD

This would be the perfect solution :D Once again, Dragon's Dogma gets it right :P

EDIT: But in the meantime it should be neutral/average... not overly sexualized/feminized.

I really don't mind the walk.  ^_^  I understand why others might, though.  B)

I don't think the walk is THAT overly sexualized it has a lil sway sure, but compared to other games I have seen  that really bends the laws of physics this is nothing, also I personally don't mind to have some characteristics  that are different  from a male

How come you aren't pouncing on this post as well then?

Or are you only against females having walks that may seem attractive to some?

I think her point isn't about being attractive, it's about the animation being unnecessarily gendered. I personally found both the male and female walk in DA:O to be attractive. I would also say that neither are gendered or sexualized like the extreme hipswaying can be perceived in DA2 (DAI so far seems less extreme, IMO). In DA2 it was a very gendered portrayal. Like putting a red bow and eyelashes on Minnie Mouse and Ms Pacman. Or putting female superheroes in unphysical positions (see: Hawkeye initiative, and references therein).

With that haircut and that expression, is it weird that my first reaction to seeing Sera from a distance was to wonder...

Okay, come to find out Dell did not receive payment from my credit card  Trying to get a hold of the credit card company but the call won't go through. So I sent an email. It's really looking like I might go for an xbox instead because this is frustrating and stressful and ridiculous!!!

EDIT: It wasn't the credit card company's fault; it was Dell's fault. On the line with them now.

REALLY THINKING ABOUT SAYING F--- IT AND GETTING AN XBOX AT THIS POINT.

Exactly. I didn't find either the male or female walks in DAO to be sexualized, but both were still attractive. I don't like having to try to RP a character that moves in ways that make NO sense while in a potential combat situation, etc., and simply does NOT fit many people's projected personalities for their Inquisitors. I don't want my armor to look significantly different just because my character is a woman (fitted properly yes, but altered to sexualize it, no), and I don't want my characters to move in ways that seem completely disconnected from reality. It's like the girly run in DA2: real runners, male or female, don't move like that. I want my blasted warriors and rogues, and even my mages, to be more interested in fighting well and surviving than in pleasing someone else's gaze. For me, that sort of things jars me out of the game because it isn't realistic.

I can honestly say that the female walking animation in DA never bothered me, I never actually paid it much mind atall. I've never played a male character so I don't have a comparison I can make, perhaps I would see it differently.

The one thing that annoyed me though was the female sitting animations, you know, with the legs wide apart....I'm certainly no girly girl but I hate that animation with a passion and even as a bit of a tomboy, I would never sit like that lol. I want my female Inquisitor to be able to sit with her legs closed tyvm

Yep, and that right there makes it pretty obvious why they animate them the way they do. Inclusivity indeed!

This sounds as bad as when I was trying to buy my PS4...-trying- is the key word. Took me two weeks because my bank didn't believe it was me, so I had to be on the phone with them as I was buying the damn thing to prove it was me.

And this is where having one body type and one way of moving traps the player between realism and art. I want my characters to be realistic, which means no sexualized walks, and a natural sitting position (doesn't have to be legs wide, but I don't want prim, legs tightly together or crossed either). While some people are bothered that their character doesn't move in a very feminine way. Something neutral would be best, but nothing can satisfy everyone. But understand too that some of us find it frustrating to be unable to escape female sexualization even in a game that supposedly let's us be physically strong and powerful, and yes, it is sexualization to give them unrealistic movements. It would be just as sexualized to only give men hulk-like guys who stomp around aggressively; it denies that men can be graceful, etc., which is something DA has avoided. I'd be less bothered if there was a difference by race or by class, at least, but all those of us who game to escape that sort of thing can do is hope that in some DLC, they allow women to create female characters with an option for the male movements (except maybe in actual cutscenes because those might need to much redesign).

I've been on the phone -- on hold -- for 30 minutes now. I'm about to give up and go home. It turns out in this case though that it was not the credit card/bank's problem, as in your case. It was stupid Dell!!!! For some reason they did not process the order. But get this...

As I was placing the order, the site ran me through a serious of questions, asking if I wanted to add this option or that software. One thing I did add on was a wireless mouse and keyboard. Well.. the order for the mouse and keyboard went through but not the computer!

I really am upset about this. And being disappointed with DAI doesn't help matters. I'm leaning towards saving 400 dollars and getting a PS4 or XB1!

Well said :)

I also game to escape... to shuffle off this mortal coil, blah blah... okay, not so dramatic, but I game because it allows me to inhabit another body different from the one I've been burdened with. Which is why the all bi romances mean so much to me on a personal level, because for me, simply changing my PC's sex is not an option.

You are right; there is no right answer, for either conundrum. Someone is always going to be disappointed :(

Well, I think the option to create female characters with male movements while not in cut scenes would have been at least some improvement. It isn't that I object to the people who want that sort of feminized movements getting them; it's that it's being forced on me at the same time. Until I get into the game, I won't know how much the movement will actually bother me. If it's too offensive, I'll probably end up playing male inquisitors which defeats one of my main reasons to RP.

Sorry to hear about your problems with Dell. Not sure why only part of your order would go through, though... That's pretty weird. I've never really dealt with Dell before, so don't know much about their customer service, but I hope you can get things sorted out! And hopefully, if/when you do get this all settled, DAI, Sims 4, and Skyrim with mods will make it all worth it!

Fem Dwarfs are so pretty!  I love them, they are like tiny little bundles of super-cute-ness.  I want to be one, who should I romance?  I'm leaning towards Blackwall or Ironbull.  If I go for Blackwall they could have couples beards but Ironbull would make for dramatic and amusing height differences.  I'm on the fence.   :)

Yep. Being stressed out and working long hours on the computer always leaves me feeling both physically and mentally awful even without the help of a cold/illness, so I imagine they feel absolutely horrible at this point. :(

IBT interview with Cameron Lee...

One tidbit caught my eye... (even if we don't know for sure if it's correct)

The massive dragons are one of the coolest elements of the “Dragon Age” series, and Lee says they modeled the movements of the giant creatures after large cats. There are 10 dragons in “Inquisition,” and players will have to face three at one time during a more advanced level.

I've got two friends who work for SCEA and Riot Games.  Just about everyone gets sick at least once during crunch, and it takes them weeks to get completely better because they're so stressed and overworked  :( My boyfriend is now getting back into the games industry.  Can't say I'm looking forward to dealing with crunch again.
