Oh no mohawk then I knew it was a long shot. Also, just one style with braids.

Yeah, I was hopeful too, a mohawk would have fit Zhenya perfectly. No curls either, except sort of in the far right picture on the second row. It might work for Ryumka, but I'm really not sure at all what I'm going to do for Zhenya since there's nothing remotely like I envisioned for her. Since those are almost all masculine hairstyles, maybe there are some for females that haven't been shown yet.

Idk, but this does not surprise me. I'd really expected the hairstyles to suck. I almost always think the hairstyles suck, in almost every game with a CC.  It doesn't lessen my anticipation of DAI  though, not even close. I'll just deal, like always.

Not to mention this is the first Frostbite CC, iirc, so everything has had to have been built from the ground up, and all the clues we had with the very short hairstyles our companions are all sporting. And even then, the CC isn't really just for our characters, but for NPCs as well. Considering we may well be the only female qunari we'll see in DAI, I think we have a lot of options for them.

I think there is lack of different styles but the quality is hair is still rather good. I can't say same with qunari, they suffer from both lack of styles and quality issue. I think I will be pretty happy with current options for my non-qunari characters at least, I didn't get what I wanted other than for Tamarin but close enough.

I'll be interested to see just how the hair moves etc when playing esp as I always hide helm.

Dammit, I need the HF side braid. It's pretty and I like it.

Also isn't advertising or publicising or whatever, sort of like a promise, so REALLY they need to hand over the hair. Otherwise how can we trust them to include other features? Without the really cool hair included (and I specifically mean just the one I like, you can make up your own self serving and loosely reasoned justifications for hair entitlement ) how can I venture forth confident that I haven't in fact just purchased a large, medievally themed, platform game? Maybe DAI will be a kind of Mario, but with super hot guys and the occasional fennec to jump on the head of instead of, you know, Mario stuff. It's a mystery....but the solution is definitely to include the concept PC hair options.

Edit - to make clear that none of this post serious, I'm being silly because it amused me and I can't sleep. Well, the bit about me liking the side braid is serious, cause I do - it's lovely.

Sadly no. Those were pre-alpha shots, and They always advised (often in the screenshot as well), that they might not rapresent the final version of the game, because things can change during development.

Just wow. I'm glad hairstyles aren't a huge deal to me because those are mostly slight variations on 5 or 6 haircuts (there are 8 minor variations on buzzcut-to-bald on the elf alone), and not terribly attractive ones. I'm glad it's possible to really alter the face shapes, etc., because otherwise, it would be really hard for me to create more than 2 or 3 inquisitors who didn't look too much alike. Maybe some of those will look better on different face shapes. I'm probably in the minority, but I'd have settled for a less complex (though easily identifiable) eye color CC for a bit more variety on the hairstyles. Maybe I'll just give most of my Inquisitors buzzcuts because after all, it's a military organization where everyone's supposed to look uniform.

I don't think you're in the minority lol Those hairstyles are god awful. They look like Lego hair (CANNOT UNSEE ) and half of them consist of buzz cuts and mullets. I was hoping for Zevran's hair but alas. It's kind of hilarious that Mike and Mark were going for a Legolas looking guy in the CC demo because a) that would be impossible with this CC, and they surely created the derpiest most unpretty elf I've ever seen lol

I'm gonna be spending a lot of time in CC just to get my character right and this CC ain't gonna make that easy!

When I first saw these hair styles I thought they were just the males and thought I could work with it. Now I've cottoned on to the fact it's for females as well, I'm not as happy. I'm sure I can work with it, is just that some of them are down right ugly. The weird Clark Kenty looking one is very blocky.

  

good morning all!  so are those all the hairstyles?  not happy with those for the females.  I was hoping for more variety with longer hair/ braids and such.  Unless I missed those images.  that's disappointing.

I hope some customization DLC comes later down the road:

 

-Black Emporium like mirror, so we can edit faces.

-New hairstyles for all the races.

-Tattoos and scars.

Yeah they could definitely release a  customization DLC that includes new hairstyles, a mirror like the black emporium one and new options for Skyhold.

Personally, I like that there's a lot of those, even if I think they could have been some bigger versions. If we want Afro-textured hair for our black Inquisitors, we get a lot of choice, which is more than I can say for a lot of games, and it's something I might consider for my Esmerelda and Ren.
