And did there really need to be umpteen versions of balding and buzzcut?
All I can say is they really need to have some nice headwear in game
I think in an extremely regimented society like the Qun, they wouldn't have much use for a great variety in hairstyles.
Yeah they could definitely release a customization DLC that includes new hairstyles, a mirror like the black emporium one and new options for Skyhold.
As long as it isn't a for-fee DLC; the game's expensive enough without having to pay for at least a little choice in CC. I don't mind paying for additional game content, that's different. A color wheel so we could give the inquisitors pink or purple or blue hair would have helped too (and hair dyes have been around for at least a couple of thousand years). Or maybe someone thought trading off mostly masculine hairstyles was their compromise for the overly feminine run and the noodle arms? I'll save the ponytail and bun for the Cullen and Solas romance PTs since they require a human or elf woman, I guess, then I can make one of the other hairstyles work for my Zhenya. After that, I guess I'll be running a lot of qunari and male Inquisitors. My hopes for this game are pinning more and more on the story telling itself.

I would love it too if it was free but lets face it, you´re probably going to have to pay, they could make a lot of money off of that
I´m seriously disappointed about the braided styles not making it into the game ![]()

Well, story IS BioWare's strong suit and major selling point for their games. So I think we're ok on that front ![]()
I would've liked the pre-alpha braided hair too. But I really like the elaborate, braided bun, so I think I'll be using that for my first PC. It might just be me, but I think the hair textures look a lot better and less straw-like when the PC has dark hair. Here I go with an army of Inquisitorial brunettes!
Personally, I like that there's a lot of those, even if I think they could have been some bigger versions. If we want Afro-textured hair for our black Inquisitors, we get a lot of choice, which is more than I can say for a lot of games, and it's something I might consider for my Esmerelda and Ren.
True, and I thought of that when I looked at a couple of the buzz cuts, which is a great improvement. And I'd accepted what the devs said about the difficulty of producing long hair that moves a lot and wasn't expecting that much. But variations on french braids and styles that don't require moving hair don't involve most of those problems, so it was a shock to see how limited the choices really are. I'd rather have back the hairstyles from DAO, honestly.

Yeah I actually really liked some of the styles from DA2,like the one Leandra had ![]()

Yeah, but if you cringe every time you're in a cutscene with your helmet off, the story starts losing something. I do actually like two of the hairstyles at the bottom, but I really don't want to create inquisitors with the same hairstyle over and over. I just wonder at the priorities - chin stubble for female dwarves, and extremely elaborate eye color system but so few useable hairstyles that I'm having a hard time imagining running more than two or three non-qunari female inquisitors.

Hopefully the sweet hat that they showed on FemInquisitor in concept art is in the game. You could always leave helmets on and talk to people from beneath the brim of your kickass tricorn ![]()
I do kind of wonder at the CC priorities too, though. Not so much the horns/hair for qunari, since what really identifies that race and gives it the instant visual pop is horn style, not hair. Maybe color wheel for eyes is just easier to implement than long hair? Even braided hair still moves and flexes.

Yep
Gonna be real hard to create a cute character in this CC. I knew I shouldn't have bought into all the hype! At this point I should just learn to expect nothing great from the game; that way when I play it I'll have no expectations and will just enjoy whatever it has to offer. After all, I was able to enjoy both Skyrim and Mass Effect despite their AWFUL CC's, but you're right: it's still jarring sometimes to see my not-so-attractive character in cut scenes.
I'm glad everyone gets the same choices
Why should guys get crap options while women get glorious curls and luscious locks?! No fair
Crap styles for everyone! At least now we know why half the inquisition is bald lol

No, no, really, there's no excuse for the qunari hairstyle situation. I think what happened is they were added to the CC last, in the extra time that was given, and this is the result. Four hairstyle options that all like like congealed mud is not okay.
I agree tbf. Glorious curls and luscious locks for all and beautiful braids....it just feels lacking for me personally but its not the end of the world at least my Quizzy will have stunning eyes.
Yeah the urge to make Auren look like me is fading when I think of those eyes... blue eyes are boring... VIOLET EYES WITH FLECKS OF SILVER HERE I COME ![]()
Oh and the whole reason I dropped by to post here during work was to report that: DELL SHIPPED MY COMPUTER AFTER ALL!!! (and charged me, of course lol). So it's on its way
Thanks for all the helpful posts and PMs offering to help me build or find a new PC. Looks like it's all coming together. Next I'll be asking you guys to help set me up on Origin and figure out how to download mods ![]()
You are all awesome *group hug*

It could be that they had time to make 95% of what they wanted to in the time allotted, and either way if they make a DLC of that missing 5% they're going to charge for it. Whether you'd prefer that the missing 5% to come later in a DLC was part of the story or a few missing hairstyles is up to individual preferences, I suppose. Either way I'd pay for it.

Yeah, this bothered me as well.
The lack of longer hair for Qunari, something we've seen repeated examples of from members of their species, loses out to the inexplicable need to provide stubble for female dwarves, something we've never seen before in the series...
I'll let Dean Winchester sum up my feelings on this...

All qunaris don't have horns though. I'd say that what identifies qunari is more like combination of horns, metallic-colored skin, big size and longish white/grey hair ^^
I think qunari would have needed better hairstyles especially when they can't use helmets. So there is no escape of bad hair ^^
EDIT: Uh two tops in the row??

wow, my 6 year old gaming PC almost meets the minimum requirements lol. I'm building a shiny new PC though, so I get to run on high settings all the way, weeeee! Only problem, I'm probably waiting for Cyber Monday sales and it won't be ready for release ![]()
...the husband is going to have to give his computer up for a couple weeks lol.
