Speaking about the Crestwood mission, one of the options is to leave the wounded soldiers to die(?)I think maybe Cullen might comment on it if he learns about it.

I hope the quizie has the option to appear clueless at first, pretty much like our warden and Alistair are abit green at the beginning of the plot.

I love the obfuscating stupidity trope! I'd like to be able to play the fool most of the time, only to catch people with their guard down because they made the mistake of underestimating me.

Didn't they say that we wouldn't start as the leader? I read that somewhere. Which makes it all the more intriguing. How are we going to become the leader? Not why, but how. Is it just going to happen? Will there be a formal ceremony? How?

Yes, though my post about doing some main quest before being a leader. At the moment I think We won't be until We reach Skyhold.
And I think there'll be a Sort of formal ceremony. There was a concept art called 'Coronation' or something similar.

Good point. In which case, something must happen for us to prove ourselves... presumably more than just "look what my magic hand can do!"

I guess it'll happen in Haven.

Apropos of this 'how much of a leader is the Inquisitor?' discussion is something I just wanted to post about. Reading over Derek's Cullen adventures... he defends what he's done TO Cullen by saying "I have done nothing any General would not expect from their officers."

User
oh my god, you are doing this because @Liz_Lehtonen is not there to protect Cullen, right?

Liz Lehtonen ‏@Liz_Lehtonen
@Derek_Hollan *Growl* what have you done?

User 2
We were growling at him all day yesterday. Hit him with a wet noodle for us, OK? ;)

We shall have a "discussion" aka asskicking when I a back

...Suggesting to me that in this scenario his PC is the General, and he's sending Cullen, as his officer, off into harm's way/what have you...? Could this mean that we are, after all, the "General" we've heard tell of, instead of Cullen? Of course, Derek could be being metaphorical, since the player is always the 'General' of their own playthrough. But still... it makes me wonder again what the former-knight-captain's title is really going to be.

(btw, *waves to Cullen thread*, been off for a few with crazy work and my first NY Comic Con yesterday! squee! but alas no Dragon Age. *sob*)

That's my guess too. We won't become the leader until we get our headquarters. I'm so curious about character interactions in this game, I can't wait! Cullen has been in both subordinate and leading roles, so he might not have too much of a problem, but Cassandra has been a leader for a long time. I wonder...

Was it this piece?

Isn't that Leliana bowing on the right? The person holding the flag doesn't look too happy...

I think he was just being generic. I don't think we'll get called general, and Cameron actually called him general, I think.
Regardless, it's obvious we'll be technically be in charge of the army, since we're the leader of the inquisition, but I think it'll be like the President of a Republic/General relationship.

Oh, I could think of a few ways to interpret that expression...

1. Man, this is so embarrassing.

2. *sigh* Why me?

3. I'm so tired.

4. I feel like a freak on display.

5.I guess there is no turning back now.

And looking at her pose, it looks like she's trying to adjust underwear that has ridden up a bit... or maybe that's just me.

This is why I love male snarky Hawke Blood Mage the best!  Mr. Boulton just pulls it off perfectly.

Maybe you don´t officially become the Inquisitor until you deal with one of the major plots? Just a thought, probably wrong but hey :P

I reckon when Cassandra does finally let us out of the dungeon/prison she'll have us running around doing a few little "fetch" quests for her. One of the devs said that we find Cullen pretty early into the game and the way he worded it sounded as though he's not there when Cassandra takes us in. So she'll probably have us go with her to track down Varric who's likely in a tavern somewhere, and then head off to call in the three advisors who'll likely be found around the local area somewhere doing whatever it is they're out there doing, during which we'll probably bump into a third companion to make up the full travel party and then something bad will happen where our protagonist will prove him/herself and we'll get made the Inquisitor.

So far they've really neglected the advisors, haven't they. We didn't even get special character pictures like the companions got.

I think that Regardless of when we'll become the leader, the first major plot/faction Quest will be the one in the Hinterlands and the mage-templar war, based on what They said. The Inquisiton probably needs either Group to strenghten their military power and info influence, and an alliance with one to them will achieve those results.
I wonder why and when we'll go to Crestwood though.

I think the third will be Solas, and will come up when we'll deal with the Fade rifts for the first time.

Yeah, that would make sense since he seemingly needs to show us how to use our fade hand, if the trailer was anything to go by.

Heck, Josephine's pictures are not even accurate anymore. We have very little idea what she looks like in the final version. There was a bit in a video, but it was blurry and from a distance.

@ElderKing

Yeah, we might shoot up the ranks once our ability to close the tears becomes known.

I know, right! I have this big video I need to make before the game ships but I can't do it until there's more footage and images of her otherwise it'll look shite when compared to the rest of it.

Right, I said this in the Solas thread but maybe you encounter him at the site of the explosion? It looks like the first rift you close is somewhere around there. Btw, it does make sense for Cullen and Leliana to be travelling with Cass and Varric but do you guys think Josie is going to be there from the start?

From the sounds of it all three are already part of the fledgling Inquisition before the explosion has even happened. As for Solas, I could totally see him having a nose around the explosion site as we return ourselves to look for clues or retrace our steps/whatever.

This is speculation on my part, but I don't think she will be there from the start.

I'm guessing Leliana will call on her after we are recruited and our vital abilities become known. There's bound to be clashes showing up after our tear-sealing power enters the picture. Some will see religious significance (Cassandra and Leliana, possibly Cullen), others will argue for using it as a political tool (Leliana), others still will think we should use it to help people (Varric) and other reasons. I think Leliana will head off the crisis by calling on her diplomat friend to smooth the ruffled feathers.

Also I have this head canon that Josephine will end up as the Inquisition's equivalent of Deanna Troy. Imagine everyone going for counselling!

Oh lord, have they said there are going to be timed events? Hopefully only one or two if so? The only thing I find more aggravating than those are escort quests (I usually quickly want to ask why I can't just kill whoever I'm escorting since they move so slowly and deliberately walk into every mob in the area).

I know a lot of people like the idea of their inquisitor as a completely inexperienced unknown. But unless you're playing your inquisitor at the very young end of the time frame they gave us, they could just as easily be quite experienced and even relatively well known---on their home turf. I can't imagine the Carta would send an inexperienced grunt rather than someone with a lot of experience who could take care of him or herself, and the same with the Dalish, but in both cases, they've been moving in a world almost invisible to the humans organizing this shindig. So has the qunari who might have been an officer (except maybe for the mage) and would at least have enough combat experience to know what good leadership is. The Trev mage might have been a senior mage in the Circle before the rebellion (and might have been one of the leaders of the rebellion in Ostwick). In fact, the only ones that Cass and the others would reasonably know much about if they were already in a major leadership position are the Trevs, and even then, the non-mages may (and probably were) trained for leadership and have some experience even if they'd never led anything important. Any of the inquisitors may have had the training to lead a large group (Dalish Keeper's First by definition is getting that training) whether or not they've ever been called on to do so. Many exceptional leaders don't work their way incrementally and slowly up a ladder; they often get thrown into situations that require them to use every resource they have.

I'm not saying you shouldn't create an Inquisitor who is completely wet-behind-the-ears, that can be a lot of fun; I'm just pointing out there's nothing they've told us (yet) that indicates that we should assume that is necessary. Most of mine will be quite experienced unless the game forces me to play it otherwise, with my human mage as the major exception; her major achievements are learning to hide all expressions and going completely unnoticed so she's going to be the real dark horse as a leader.

That´s what I think as well! :) Or that maybe Leliana called on her behind Cassandras back or something. Haha lol imagine her trying to make Cass and Varric make up :P
