Well, the Dwarf is from the Carta, the Dalish is either a Keeper's first or one of the best hunters and the Qunari is part of a mercenary band. All of those speak of experience.

I think the most plausible for 'young and inexperienced' is the human, mage or otherwise. They were intended for the Chantry, which branch is unknown, but I'm guessing they would be on the younger end of the spectrum. The mage could reasonably be older.

That´s what I think as well! :) Or that maybe Leliana called on her behind Cassandras back or something. Haha lol imagine her trying to make Cass and Varric make up :P

Her bio does say she likes a challenge...

Oh lord, have they said there are going to be timed events? Hopefully only one or two if so? The only thing I find more aggravating than those are escort quests (I usually quickly want to ask why I can't just kill whoever I'm escorting since they move so slowly and deliberately walk into every mob in the area).

Yeah, that Crestwood "save the village and/or save the Keep" mission is timed.

In way. The keep has a 'health bar' of sorts and we see it slowly going down... Each tick on that bar is a soldier who lost their life in defense of it.

That is so much worse than an old fashioned timer with minutes and seconds. (emotionally speaking)

Ack! Yes, it is worse. Ah well, hopefully that quest is the exception rather than the rule (otherwise that open world doesn't mean much if you're always racing the clock and don't have time to detour).

Still, it'd have been useful with Redcliffe when I had to pay attention to every single muggle on screen to try and keep their dumb backsides alive.

"Dammit Lloyd, if you can't fit into any armour, stay out out of the main fighting! And pick up a freaking weapon!" :pinched:

That's my thought too, that they're the most likely to be young, though I think the non-mages would have been trained to leadership. After all, there's always the chance that youngest child could end up being heir abruptly. Now, how well that training took is another matter. ;) :P

Well, they want us to feel the consequences of our choices so... No. I can't be angry at them. They said right out the gate that's what they were going for.

I don't think that timer is going to be there all the time. Just when we trigger quest events.

Oh man, the Redcliffe battle was so aggravating! Just lock everybody inside the Chantry and let my group do the work! We'll be fine!

No, this Crestwood/Keep thing is bullshit. There's no logical reason for you to somehow know when each individual soldier died; that's something you'd only learn after the fact. The timer exists solely for the purpose of making you feel bad, just like how All that Remains made Hawke act like a moron to make the player feel bad.

If I knew of a mod to remove All that Remains, I would take it. And if I can just console command my way through this Crestwood crap, I'll do that. I do not accept having my emotions manipulated for no damn reason.

I thought the health bar was showing the damage the Keep itself was taking, rather than the people dying.

Oh, maker, yes. I found if I set my group at the far edge of the fire away from his men, they wouldn't come running all the time and usually only fought the ones that got past me to attack them. That way I could put AOEs on the far side of the fire to slow and damage the zombies before they reached me.

Though the absolute worst example of questionable allies are the mages in the Battle of Denerim. "Hey! You with the effing fireball spells? Did you notice that Alistair and I were IN THE WAY?" Not to mention them running up to take on ogres toe-to-toe. "Um, I'm pretty sure those robes aren't...too late"

Just looked back at the PAX Prime 2013 DAI demo and it says "Crestwood Under attack. Inquisition keep strength: *Insert health bar*" so it's not the soldiers, it's the Keep taking damage. Obviously if it hits the bottom there will be varying degrees of casualties, but it's not like "har har, each drop in health is another body for your to bury!"

Could be both. I doubt the enemy would destroy the keep entirely if they intended to claim it. Then again it was Red Templars in this case and they're loony...

Yeah, I could see Sera, Cole, and Blackwall (and Varric obviously) being pretty pissed at you if you don't at least attempt to save them. I don't imagine Cass or Vivienne will be all that bothered, lol.

Well, what makes me disagree with you on Cass is the way that she comforted Varric when you go back to the village after. So while she might be pro save the keep, I really don't think you could accuse her of not caring. She at least seems to recognize the gravity of the choice made.

I agree. Cassandra is not cold hearted, just very hard headed. The Inquisition won't be able to help anyone if they lose whatever foothold they were able to gain. It was sweet of her too considering that Varric pretty much hates her.

Didn't say she was heartless. It's simply that her goal is to put a stop to the madness by focusing on the greater good... if that means losing people along the way then that's just the way things are, it can't be helped.

I imagine she'd be concerned that it damaged the Inquisition's chances, she probably wouldn't flip out or anything though.

Yup, and that's where I'll tell her to shove it. I'm savin both. I will never sacrifice the few to save the many. And I'll be happy making her help me save them all. :)

If that is possible, mind. I guess if you send the soldiers one way and you go the other, but... it's going to be tricky.
