I have sympathy with Cullen on that one....mage just caused rift, adding more magic may just open it further. Really needs more thinking about, but someone had to say it. Maybe negating the magic should be tried, rather than just closing with magic....brain explodes.

Wait, do we know that mages caused the Breach?

I doubted he'd be neutral. Though I missed what he said after Leliana's proposal.

He said, "I still disagree. The Templars could serve just as well."

Cass: *sighs* We need power, Commander. Enough magic poured into that mark.

Cullen: Or destroy us all. Templars could suppress the Breach, weaken it so...

Leliana: Pure speculation.

Cullen: I was a Templar. I know what they are capable of.

Really? I saw it. The spymaster vs the soldier :P

I am loving the back and forths the three have had so far.

Indeed. Some GREAT dialogue. Actually loving Josie's voice too.

And I just meant that I didn't expect Leliana to advocate for the mages.

I didn't expect it to be him versus Leliana though...very, very interesting.

She does seem to be somewhat pro-mage, though probably for practical reasons.

Omg, Cullen is so sarcastic but very charming with it. I like that he's still very "mages RAWR!" Good to see he's not quite over his angst yet. 10/10 still would bang!

Well, we'll see how my romance will go with him then.  Because I'm not going to try and side with either side, Templar or mage.  I don't like either side, each have their own flaws and strengths.  Hmmm, depending on how conversations go, he might not be my first playthrough romance.    Damn...

He's so HAWT though.  *drools* <3

Loving it too.

To be fair she was mildly pro mage in origins to begin with.

OMG he is Lovely

I like the way he took the Herald title light hearted, it doesn't look like that will be a particular hangup with him.

I have a feeling that due to how Cass was interacting with us in the brief cutscene, I think she and I are gonna get along better than Cullen and I will. I already sense some tension in the air. He's more...aggressive and militant than I was expecting.

So whenever they moved the camera around, the environment sort of blurred out and took a minute to refocus. Is that normal for a PC or is that just the Twitch stream? That never happens on console, and it's disappointing if I have that to look forward to on PC :(

I'm not sure if we're talking about the same thing or not, but if there's a lot of movement on camera in a stream/video like this, there's usually going to be a good amount of blurriness and pixelation. This is sort of why I was disappointed in the visuals from the YouTube gameplay footage that was recently released. Even playing the videos on 1080p, you couldn't really get a good look at the max PC settings thanks to the video compression. :(

This wouldn't be a problem when actually playing the game, though.

Well, I thought worse (That he'd insult/offend mages). He just think templars can be as useful, without being as dangerous. I think he's reasonable enough, based on this dialogue alone. I did think he'd have preferred templars over mages for that choice.

Do you mean after the Mage-templar debate as well?

Ok, Cullen is definitely Pro-Templar...damn...

At least when we first meet him. Remember this is the beginning. It wouldn't be a Dragon Age game if there wasn't the chance for intense development of characters, ya know? :)

Thanks for assuaging my PC woes, guys :D

As to who I'll get along with best... everyone? I'm pretty easy to get along with and vice versa. I don't see myself disliking any of the characters, and disagreeing can be fun xD Huh. Maybe I should play my mage first after all. He and I are a lot more alike than I realized. Plus I secretly do think it would be hilarious for a non-religious person like myself to be referred to as a religious Herald  Oh yeah, I'd get a hoot outta that and work it as hard as I could

I dunno, Cass is still a tough cookie who's not one to screw with, but she seems more willing to be flexible when it comes to the greater good. Cullen's rather lighthearted banter with the Inquisitor seems to suggest that he's still nice guy underneath, except when it comes to his job, where he's no-nonsense and to the point. I guess after what happened in Kirkwall, he's grown far more of a backbone and become more vocal about orders he thinks are insane.

I loved that later comment where they mentioned that Cullen's opinion to a fairly ridiculous side-mission is essentially "No, not doing it. This is silly."

He's definitely very no-nonsense, and stubborn about his opinions, too. I kind of like it  =]

And honestly, I am glad that he is still more for the templars...his idea to have them suppress the Breach is actually a good idea. But now I am now excited to talk with the three advisors. :D

This is gonna be hilarious with my human mage, I suspect they're not going to see eye to eye when it comes to the mage/templar situation. He's an idiot for wanting anything to do with them, but it's quite amusing to see him insult the Chantry like that, LOL!

I see. Based on what you're saying he seems different from the last, he's more direct and aggressive in expressing himself, which Brianne hinted in the interview.

You just have to work extra hard to crack that tough shell lol. My resolve has strengthened! You will respect the heck out of my mage, Cullen! She's going to be so freaking awesome you won't be able to help it!

I like that! We saw little glimpses of it in DA2 but he'd often stifle it... probably since he was working and Hawke wasn't part of the Order so he was putting on a professional face.
