I'm just going to say it, I hope it doesn't offend but it most likely will and I'm sorry if it does.

 

I don't see the issue if you're romancing someone else that playthrough and they hook up with someone else? If you're going to get that jealous (???), there's other issues at hand here that need to be dealt with  and taking it out on the characters hooking up in the background while you're boning someone else entirely is kinda unhealthy. Kinda like, when you break up with someone, hook up with another person and then your ex hooks up with someone else and all you do is obsess over them and make their life completely miserable because you don't want them to be happy or you're still jealous - or still think of them as "yours". That's just not right. And preventing yourself from getting to know a character BECAUSE they will hook up in the background and be all nasty about it, it just plain awful.

 

It's just part of character development and flow. If your character is not involve with them, how would they evolve themselves? What would their relations be / interests / etc. Who would they fall in love with, who would be their close friends?

 

Fandom blows my mind, sometimes. (Talibrations, anyone?)

 

Personally, I think it's cute, to be honest. Leliana is probably off the market since a lot of people probably romanced her and it would bother them if she hooked up with anyone else than their Wardens - even if they're dead. Just like in DA2, when Zevran hooked up with Isabella and Hawke, it litterally made me go O.O; and I recall just going "whaaaaaat" I felt sorry for those who romanced him in DA:O. What a slap in the face XD I know he's bugged, no matter what you do/choose, but it's still awful.

I'm not offended (and I don't mean to offend either) but I think it's just a case of different strokes for different folks.

I get you're point but sometimes people just feel a certain way they do, I don't necessarily see it as unhealthy, it's more how they act or keeping bottled up inside that I think would do more damage.

I am one of those people who wouldn't like it, but would of not enjoy the LI I would be romances because of it? No. Would I completely avoid other LIs in other PTs? No. Just expressing how I think I'd see it but I really don't know how I'll take it until it happens. I'm not going to cry over it. Sometimes I think people take things too seriously because we can't express our tone of voice or humour as if we had said it verbally.

I personally don't think anyone would neglect or get nasty about it, but maybe I just read/interpreted it differently from you which can happen in forums.

 

I for one, am interested in how the companions/advisors interact with each other and yeah if I don't like it, I'll just ignore it

I'm usually not that bothered by other characters hooking up really.But Cullen and Cassandra are the exceptions! They belong with my quizies! xD

I wouldn't say that anything you said so far is offensive, apart perhaps from the unhealthy part,which I think it's a bit too judgmental.
You see some people are more likely to become attached to their characters,which means that even if they create another character and romance another LI,their previous character is still important to them.
Particularly their choices,so it can be unpleasant for some to see the character they previously romanced,hooking up with another one.This is observed in books as well as other media,where the characters in question aren't even your own as is the case in most games.

The reason I wouldn't like Cullen or Cass to be paired with another character ,is because In my game,I can only see them with my inquisitors.

I was hoping for Iron Bull and Dorian or Vivienne someone of the girls. Oh well, maybe there is more pairings or flirting in the game like there was 3 in the DA2 (Fenris & Isabela, Merrill & Carver and Sebastian & Bethany).

I disagree. They're working hard to finishing the game, and I won't blame them for making some jokes. People have the right to be concerned about his post, but he has every right to joke.

I think people are mostly joking. Artemis earlier raised intresting point of not liking seeing characters with others than with the other part of OTP that she has. I'm same with some characters (not LI's really) though some I like with almost everybody.

 

However in the context of video game where LI you don't romance hooks with someone else, I just like it and found it cute. I like some canon pairing more than others but I'm all for Cullen and Josie having thing together.

 

I guess my point is that it isn't necessarily about jealously nor something that can be compared to IRL.

Yep, it's the same name.  I noticed that as well.  Kind of amusing if it was unintentional.  Running our of names, Bioware?

I find it quite entertaining to suddenly realize that other companions (and in this case advisors as well) are hooking up on the side. There's always that moment of "Wait... what?! <small gasp of surprise> Holy cow, they are TOTALLY shagging!". 

 

I agree that it would be doubly fun to be surprised by a same sex couple... especially if it's with someone who's sexuality never even came into play due to not being available as an LI. Like Viv or... what if you find out Varric has sworn off women after Bianca and catch him making goo goo eyes with Bull or Dorian? That would make my day!

I doubt Vivienne will hook up with anyone in the inquisition, Because of whatever story reason she won't be able to romance the PC...unless she makes a 180 and romances Cole .

Hmm. I think if Bull will be paired with Someone it's either Dorian or Cass. I'd prefer the former, not only becuase of a s/s relationship, but Because of the relationship between a tevinter and a qunari.
