Aye, I forgot to put that it was on the Rivalry path. I do know that he's in favour of defending them if you go Friendship and side with the Mages. Of course, I always take Rivalry as it seems more in line with his character's decision to Rage Quit at the end if you spare Anders.

Indeed, if you keep Anders alive the Rivalry path with Seb makes more sense. I like his personality and character better on the Friendship path overall and pretty much never spare Anders, though, so I rarely have reason to go Rivalry with him. It's weird how you get used to the character being this one way and forget how he becomes on the other path, I remember Rivalry Sebastian as much as Friendship Anders - almost not at all, since I never play those paths anymore.

I can only imagine the outrage (and the awkwardness) if Cullen romanced a Leliana who was potentially romanced by female warden Amell.

This will never happen, but it would be hilarious. My Leliana-romancing dead Amell would be looking on from the afterworld, half-raging in jealousy and half really turned on by both her pretties hooking up. ;)

What outrage and awkwardness? This could lead to all three of them deciding to hook up... and that's just hot?

My warden would be pretty p****d at Leliana if she did. "What! I mean, I understood that you felt you had to go work for the Divine, but I've been ignoring all these hot wardens all these years because of you, and you not only start fooling around with a guy, but a guy who had a crush on me and I dropped for you?" (and for the record, if she'd been in a relationship with Cullen instead of Leliana, it would be Cullen she was honked off at. Her aim is for the person with a presumed commitment.)

Oh, Maker, I wish I thought they'd ever let that be an option in a future game. It would resolve SO many things, and I bet we'd end up with BAMF Cullen blushing afterwards.

;) :P

If Leliana has some romantic interests in DAI, it'll be if she's not romanced in DAO.

Actually my biggest worry about a possible Cullen X Josephine romance is software bugs that will drive me insane...remember Legacy in DA2?

You were married to Sebastian and your sister hit on him.

You were romancing Fenris, and he and Isabella make an arrangement to meet later...

Patch 1.04 fixed that....but there was a while there when Bethany or Isabella were dragon food.

If the NPC X romances did not exist nor would bugs like that.

Honestly, my view is that if this were true about Josie/Cullen, it shouldn't have been leaked out. Some of us, like myself, are more inclined to romancing just one LI over and over for a game (Such as Alistair in DAO for me). To have this thrown in our faces when we haven't explored this personally, in our own games, would ruin the romance for me (And others who feel the same). It's like having it in your face that your inquisitor is only 2nd best (Like with Fenris/Isabella where the guy Nopes the Hell out of Hawke's bed, but will shag Isabella to kingdom come) and is, ultimately, just "in the way" of these two characters getting together. It's especially problematic for those who like to play by immersing themselves into the game (Yes, that's an actual roleplaying style), thus, with this foreknowledge, it becomes difficult, if not impossible to do so thinking your character is a nuisance, or 'the other woman'.

For the record, I think it was a joke, and the spoiler thing is another reason why I think it was a joke.

Though Again on Fenris, I always thought the difference between Isabela and Hawke is that with the former is just sex. The feelings for Hawke are the reason he freaked out.
Another point is that in Act 3 he seems generally more integrated in Kirkwall, so he might be more stable then Act 2.

I certainly hope so, hence why I didn't just automatically assume that it was canon. However, with BioWare, they do have a history of doing this so you can never be too cautious.

Yeah, I was thinking that since she's so good with words, maybe Josephine wrote some letters for the Inquisitor to give to Cullen.

Yes, but I don't think they'd release the pairings before release.

It was pretty obvious that Fenris/Isabella had feelings for each other. Yes, their conversations were about sex, but, it seemed like they were just playing around. Isabella is the type who would shag and leave, but she sticks around, meaning there is some attachment. Similarly, Fenris seems like the type who wouldn't just 'fool around' for no reason unless there was something. I have plenty of friends who's idea of a romantic relationship is purely on sex, but they still care for that person very deeply. It's just how they express their affection for one another.

I am honestly hoping for this to be the case, but, without a word of contradiction, it certainly throws doubt in my mind.

I always canon'd it at a romance, just expressed in a different light. As I've stated, I have friends who have relationships like this.

If Cullen/Leliana ends up being a thing, it'll get worse if we then try to figure out who's potentially slept with who?

Fem!Amell: How dare Cullen sleep with Leliana!

Hawke: You can hardly talk. If you carried such a torch for him, why did you have that foursome with Leliana, Zevran and Isabela?

Fem!Amell: Hey! You had a threesome with Zev and Isabela too!

Hawke: Doesn't that mean we've both had sex with Cullen through six degrees of gettin' bacon?

Fem!Amell: I'd much rather have slept with him, than just via proxy...

Isabela: You know how we could solve it, we could drag Cullen and Leliana here, then we all sleep together?!

Zevran: Yes, I agree!

Fem!Amell: What? Even me and Hawke? But we're cousins!

Hawke: Actually, we're second cousins, so I think that's allowed?

Isabela: Then it's settled! I'll get the drinks!

Zevran: And I'll get the oils...

  *A long pause*

Fem!Amell: What just happened?

Hawke: I don't know, but I fear future generations will curse our names for it?

Fair enough. I had the same impression of Panda, but both theories are possible.

Haikus are usually jokes anyways, when western society takes it in hand. There's a lot of errors in his tweet, I think he was just losing it to exhaustion. A doubled word, Inquisitor in plural, etc.

I'm sure someone is reporting to him the huge drama he just caused on the forums over nothing.

I used to be down on the idea of NPCs romancing each other, but now I honestly think it depends on how it's implemented.

Aerie and Haer'Dalis, for example, were a mess, and the PC could get tangled up in that to a truly uncomfortable (and frankly gender stereotyped) degree.  Fenris and Izzy if you don't get together with either of them was fine.  It's a tiny sideplot, and IMO if that is enough to send people into jealous fits in a playthrough where they're not even involved with either character, that's...not the developers' fault.  Same with Alistair and Leliana; your Warden didn't even EXIST, so it's not like either character has any obligation to your PC.

I have yet to see an NPC/NPC subplot where that relationship is presented as the "best" pairing; even Aerie and Haer'Dalis fall apart eventually.  Whereas pretty much every PC/NPC relationship can reach a very deep, stable, loving point.  So if Josie wants to write haikus to Cullen during my Dalish playthrough, good for her!  Better than me trying to write him poetry  :P

Maybe Josie is writing Cullen poems to give to our inquisitor, either because you're romancing her/wooing her and she's shy, or you're romancing/wooing Cullen and Josie is helping him out because he's crap at poetry.
