Haikus are usually jokes anyways, when western society takes it in hand. There's a lot of errors in his tweet, I think he was just losing it to exhaustion. A doubled word, Inquisitor in plural, etc.

I'm sure someone is reporting to him the huge drama he just caused on the forums over nothing.

Poor Aidan ^^; I kinda feel like partially quilty as well for bringing it up on this thread..

I used to be down on the idea of NPCs romancing each other, but now I honestly think it depends on how it's implemented.

Aerie and Haer'Dalis, for example, were a mess, and the PC could get tangled up in that to a truly uncomfortable (and frankly gender stereotyped) degree.  Fenris and Izzy if you don't get together with either of them was fine.  It's a tiny sideplot, and IMO if that is enough to send people into jealous fits in a playthrough where they're not even involved with either character, that's...not the developers' fault.  Same with Alistair and Leliana; your Warden didn't even EXIST, so it's not like either character has any obligation to your PC.

I have yet to see an NPC/NPC subplot where that relationship is presented as the "best" pairing; even Aerie and Haer'Dalis fall apart eventually.  Whereas pretty much every PC/NPC relationship can reach a very deep, stable, loving point.  So if Josie wants to write haikus to Cullen during my Dalish playthrough, good for her!  Better than me trying to write him poetry  :P

But, I don't think that's the point that people are upset about. I think that (IF this is true) it was spoiled for many people who have NO intention of romancing outside of these two characters. Thus, something they would never have to worry about knowing, was just shoved in their face before they could even delve into their intended romance. It's not about jealousy, but about not being able to immerse in your intended romance along with feelings of guilt of being 'in the way'.

Although, if they're raging and throwing hate at the devs over this, that would be over the top. Expressing disappointment is one thing, but full on going rage mode on the developers is another.

Maybe Josie is writing Cullen poems to give to our inquisitor, either because you're romancing her/wooing her and she's shy, or you're romancing/wooing Cullen and Josie is helping him out because he's crap at poetry.

*Shrugs*

Maybe she's writing love poems under the Inquisitor's name to send to him, because Josie occasionally gets bored and decides to play matchmaker?

It could be worse. You could be Cass and have a love note supposedly from the Iron Bull;

Blood Is Red, Lyrium is Blue

You should ride the Bull, I've had my eye on you.

I like NPC/NPC in theory, but in practice, the only one I've really liked is Bethany/Seb because they were just that precious. Most of the others I just never bought into. I write a lot of NPC/NPC, just not canon stuff. My concern about Josephine/Cullen is that it'd be too Slap Slap Kiss, not that there's a universe where they find love outside the Inquisitor.

This is actually the first thing I thought, but instead of Cullen,Josephine writes poems for the Inquisitor who is crap at poetry and wants to woo Cullen, but fails miserably.

But shy Josephine would be so precious!

If Cullen/Leliana ends up being a thing, it'll get worse if we then try to figure out who's potentially slept with who?

Fem!Amell: How dare Cullen sleep with Leliana!

Hawke: You can hardly talk. If you carried such a torch for him, why did you have that foursome with Leliana, Zevran and Isabela?

Fem!Amell: Hey! You had a threesome with Zev and Isabela too!

Hawke: Doesn't that mean we've both had sex with Cullen through six degrees of gettin' bacon?

Fem!Amell: I'd much rather have slept with him, than just via proxy...

Isabela: You know how we could solve it, we could drag Cullen and Leliana here, then we all sleep together?!

Zevran: Yes, I agree!

Fem!Amell: What? Even me and Hawke? But we're cousins!

Hawke: Actually, we're second cousins, so I think that's allowed?

Isabela: Then it's settled! I'll get the drinks!

Zevran: And I'll get the oils...

  *A long pause*

Fem!Amell: What just happened?

Hawke: I don't know, but I fear future generations will curse our names for it?

I'm trying to count all the people involved in this, Warden, Hawke, Isabella, Zevran, Leliana, and Cullen? So, a Six-some? I wonder what the Inquisitor's opinion on this would be. :P

How about, "Hell YEAH, get the Herald of Andraste in on that!"  I have at least one Inquisitor who would do just that.

It's fine, the devs feed off of fan tears.  I think they know that sneezing on the Internet will get picked apart for meaning by hordes of ravenous, crazy fans

Too soon to tell, but from that one conversation, he seems more aggressive than he was in DA2. I still found it surprising that Leliana was the one to advocate asking the mages for help. I think I will be following her advice in this.

Still inclined for templar support in the specific instance, I see a pattern emerging. When it comes to method, I gravitate toward the espionage or political approach. When it comes to faction X or Y, I prefer the military option.

As I recall, he was never even hinted otherwise.  He was quite adamant he'd take on the obligation of protecting and fighting for mages and the community, the way Templars were supposed to.  And in defiance of Meredith, no less.  Good to see he hasn't backed down, either.

And yet still participated in Meredith's genocide, something I've neither forgotten nor forgiven.

Well, clearly he's not a templar anymore; the Order went rogue.

I always saw Cullen driven by his sense of justice and for the Greater Good of people. He defied Meredith only because she became of threat for everyone and even for herself.

In my point of view for DA II, he was the real "good guy".
