I don't think it does, from what we're presented. Bioware, to me, simply gives too many options to be evil.
What evil options are you talking about?

Depending on how it is presented...I may have my Trevelyan go with the templar's methods, but ultimately side with the mages in the end.
Have to start somewhere right? I'm getting a much later one, so it's really hard to put that out there (33 years of ingrained prudence). Even then, I think if it was to be made into a movie, it would barely qualify as PG13... maybe R if Im lucky lol.
Yay, you did it! More smut is good. More people writing smut is even better ![]()
My inquisitor's method of problem solving: Okay, two advisors say mages... one advisor says templars... two is bigger than one... *clears throat* I'll go with the mages. *firm nod*
Can I take a third option and get these guys in?

Since i have many characters it will depend. Michal, Tamarin and Valpur will go with templars most likely. Milica and Skye might go with mages. Every cause different reason though.
I'm generally neutral, but I think i'd have chosen mages anyway in DA2. The circle wasn't involved with Anders, They had no faults for what happened.
I wish There was an option to be more clear about Hawke's stance though.
Yes, Sebastian actually makes the most sense with his line "Why are we even debating on anulling the circle when the person who do this is right here!" or something to that effect--been a while. Especially if Bethany is in the circle.
Although, I do like that you get to see another side of Cullen if you pick Templar.
I love his line "That's what I believe being a Templar is all about."
The only way it makes sense for me to pick personally pick Templar in that instance though is if Hawke is not a mage and Bethany died in the Deep Roads or if I guess I could pretend that Hawke sides with the Templars just so she/he can go save Bethany, but there is no dialogue to express that that is why Hawke is doing it.
I think Bioware should of done something where a group in the Circle helped Anders blow up the Chantry --I think they would have gotten more players to side with the Templars in that case.
I want to know how templars would be able to manage the breach in the first place. Like, holy smite it repeatedly or something?

Oh yeah, I was talking about Auren in that scenario xD Complex situations make his head hurt
And sometimes he just doesn't care about the squabbling and bickering of others.

Oh I like that idea! And it would even show more of the extremes for the mages!
I think my Dalish Elf will go with Cullen's suggestion. She is curious to see what these Templars can do and is also cautious.
Although, I really would like to hear Solas's opinion on the matter--since he is a Fade expert after all ![]()
Also, is anyone else afraid that if our green hand gets out of control it could harm us/pull us in the Fade at the end?--which is also why Cullen's suggestion sounds pretty good to me.
I tried so hard to get into Skyrim but instead of being fascinated by my ability to explore, it just all felt very vast and lonely and made me feel a bit insignificant :/
I will give it another go at some point, but I'm far more interested in people than places
Yus im the same! I just end up feeling lost and without direction ![]()

Siding with the templars.

That would completely destroy the point of Anders' action.

You cross paths with the Resolutionist faction in Seb's Act 3 quest, but that's about it for radical factions within the Circle. And I agree, the in-game rationale for siding with the templars--keeping order--doesn't stand up well under scrutiny. Why not get the guard in that case? There are enough of them for Aveline to mention the guards protecting the civilians from the worst of the fighting. On the other hand, I suppose both templars and mages had been presented in a nasty light in DA2, there's no need to make them look any worse by adding Resolutionists to the Kirkwall Circle.
Off topic: I love your Asami icon. She's the best.
Siding with the templars.
I agree that BW has given us quite many opportunities to be evil.. but I don't think siding with templars is one of them ^^ To me it's bad choice from two bad choices.
So I hear some Cullenites have been threatening Josephine. Is this true?

Seriously? As in threatening her voice actor?

Ah, okay. Still, reel in your fellows.

No, just the character. Or at least as far as I know.
Ah, okay. Still, reel in your fellows.
I would love to, but I'm not on Tumblr for precisely this reason. It's a f***ing terrifying place ![]()

Yes, I just feel that many of the mages that were potrayed in a negative light were outside of the circle which makes it hard to side with Templars at the end.

That is true with the guard as well, they could help to keep Order. I think Aveline mentions that she wants to keep Order in the city, but Meredith keeps blocking her.
Yes! I love Asami and Korra, loving season 4 so far and everyone's new look. I think I am going to make 2 characters in DAI similar to Korra and Asami:)

Truth be told, there is many things within DA2 that makes siding with the Templars sensible. Like the blood mages that came from the tower, QUENTIN killing Leandra, and many just simply using it for the sheer power (Tarohne comes in mind). Of course you have many evil Templars (Karras and Alrik), but you have many good Templars too, such as Keran, Thrask, and even Cullen.
Honestly, guys, they really didn't provide a good reason why you'd murder everyone in the Circle on account of what Anders did. I played a pro-templar Hawke all the way through and ultimately balked at the final decision because I just couldn't figure out the explanation behind the decision.
It was just kind of badly done, that's all.
When my female mage Inquisitor finally gets with Cullen, I'll be curious to see if Leliana makes a comment about Cullen having a habit of falling for mages, since my Warden was also a female mage.
Maybe Cullen will even mention it himself ![]()
