The whole ending thing with DA2 was completely nonsensical. We can't insist Ander's takes responsibility for his crime in front of the Guard Captain and we can't prevent Meredith from annulling the circle by simply cutting her head off right then and there. I have a weapon, they won't let me unequip it, it's like right there.....and yet Meredith still has her head! ![]()
I kind of wish he'd hush up sometimes because his sexed up jokes about Iron Bull are really turning me off the character!
Aaaah, he's all front. He's like a big dumb bro, lol. I really like him, couldn't stand him during his teen heartthrob years, that whole thing portrayed him as dull and a bit of an arse, but he actually seems like a genuinely cool guy, I had no idea he was an avid gamer/nerd either.

The Circle was going to get annulled anyway.....

Yeah, when she says, We'll meet again, Champion, I just wanted to throw my dagger at her face and be like, I DON'T THINK SO, CRAZY LADY, YOU DEAD! But no
Of course we then wouldn't get that cool boat scene....

Oh, as a person, he seems fabulous; I totally wanna be his bro!!

Are you serious??? This really happened?? Poor baby! No wonder he freaked out! (And he probably revealed this in dialogue but I completely ignored/forgot it
)
Yeah, I think he mentions that the Underground was almost entirely wiped out sometime during Act 3, leaving a lot of his friends within it dead.
Completely off-topic but I love watching Freddie Prinze Jr using Twitter, it's like witnessing a really confused kid run around hyped up on E-numbers. I swear he's literally the living embodiment of James Vega, I don't think he even need to act for that role, LOL!

I loved his Bioware video, the guy is so hyperactive and excitable when it comes to his fandoms. Listening to him talk about the difference between the player playing Mario who they're divorced from and the player actually "being" Shepard in Mass Effect, reminded me so much of some of the discussions on the forums.
Freddie Prinze Jr is definitely one of us. ![]()
No, I don't think the populace of Kirkwall would have insisted that the Circle be annulled in the circumstances that Anders was publicly tried, Meredith was a corpse, Cullen becomes a pretty reasonable Knight Commander and the Champion of Kirkwall is publicly supporting the outcome. I think it would more likely become a regrettable tragedy. Most reasonable people object to the mass slaughter of people innocent of the crime they are being murdered for.

He may not be royalty, but he's a Prinze in our eyes! ![]()

Here's the scene where he mentions it, during "Speak to Anders" at the start of Act 3. I checked and it's the same if romanced.

Spoiler
Oh! See, I didn't realise that it had been destroyed in that sense. Talk about a missed opportunity with that one!

Totally! This is why DA2 should have included more scenes like Origins did where you saw what was going on elsewhere in the world, especially since this is already a story being narrated by Varric, so having that third person omniscient perspective would have made even more sense?
Witnessing the destruction of the underground (and maybe even the death of sympathisers like Terrie), would have made Anders going tactically nuclear seem far less out of the blue, instead of a throwaway line at the beginning of the Act. Either that scene should have come just before Justice, or when he revealed the destruction of the Mage Underground, we should have had Justice briefly manifest to show how truly p*ssed off he is about it?
NGL, after my initial run and what happens with Orsino and Anders no matter what you do, I pretty much felt like this about Act 3:
Spoiler
Spoiler warning for bad language!
I still have a hard time finishing the game. I pretty much play to the beginning of Act 3, settle things with Fenris, then play MotA and Legacy and call it quits.
I know DAI will have hard choices - I like hard choices! - I just hope all sides are handled intelligently and in a more balanced, polished manner than DA2.
Um, this was exactly me on my first run lol.

Going on the actual quest with Anders to discover all the dead bodies of the mage underground group would have been a real gut puncher... shame really.

Ander's reaction after going on the quest where you kill all the members would have been even better. ![]()
I think he escaped many, many more times than that!
I recently played Awakening and I think he said his final count was 7.
(Before DA2, of course.)

I dunno. Sometimes, I think we want to attribute more reasonableness to the populace of Thedas than they actually have.
What would they know, really? The mages have been causing trouble and a mage just blew up the Chantry and fried parts of the city. Would they even learn that Anders was an apostate? And if they did, wouldn't that just sort of prove the point that mages belong in the Circle?
I mean, Gamlen came from a family with magic in its bloodline and his first reaction to Leandra's death was "lock the mages up and throw away the key."
I'll be surprised if mages aren't blamed for the veil tear by the common people, especially with them just having left the circles.
Wait wait, what? When I sided with the templars via telling Gregoir Cullen was right, the Connor and Dagna options were closed to me.
You know what, you're absolutely right, and I apologize. Two playthroughs at the same time has me very confused.
In that game I had to kill Connor.
I will say though, that I definitely remember Dagna being able to study at the Circle as it's being rebuilt. Instead of going to the Circle and asking someone, she just runs off "to go study" when you talk to her outside her dad's shop.
Real life has kept me from checking in here for a while, but I can't help but notice some glorious new Cullen gifs (hubba hubba, etc.) Can anyone help a fellow Cullenite out by telling me what they're being created from? Did I *gasp* miss a video somewhere? ![]()
