Okay, I just thought of something that evil DG would probably come up with.  

 

Cullen is an abomination.

 

Oh you're evil.

 

See, I'd love that as a storyline, finding out twelve years later that the desire demon never left his mind after all. It would be the best plot twist ever. Except that now that (Asunder spoilers)

we already have Evangeline ticking the "possessed Templar" novelty/irony checkbox, it would feel a bit stale? Like, been there, done that, maybe. And if you go the opposite of Evangeline's "good" possession to a "bad" possession, that corrupts the character and drives them to madness etc, you stumble on Anders' territory.

 

I'm sure if they went with this storyline they'd make it different enough to feel unique to Cullen, but on theory alone it keeps sounding too close to Evangeline's/Anders' storylines to sound too promising.

 

Yes, I'm quickly becoming a Harding fan (that cocky look on her face when she took down the mage and templar...)

 

I was thinking the earlier gameplay showed her working for Cullen, so maybe the agents don't work for a set person. But yes, Cullen with a hot Templar right hand man would be great eye candy (especially if you can flirt a little). Odd, they dropped hints about him, but we haven't seen a mention of him since.

 

Oooh I'd like that. I haven't seen the video, but if Harding takes at least a couple of quest orders from Cullen, or even Josie, I'll be happy to see her.

 

Maybe Josie's love letters were written to Hot Templar instead and she was just trying to get Cullen to deliver them to his favorite boy toy? And then Inquisitor was smiling because the whole situation looked like a glorified high school full of 30 yo's. (also because Hot Templar is really hot and she can't blame Josie for wanting a piece of that)

What I want for Cullen in the future? Hmm. To be honest, he seems to be doing pretty well; he's evolved the way I'd hoped he will... Hmmm.

 

I always want to see him wrestling with his faith and his concerns about magic. To me that is so essential to his character, what makes him so complex and interesting. But... I would like to see him overcome his fear of magic. I think that is a driving negative force for him. I've always thought him very similar to Fenris... probably why I like them both so much But with Fenris I felt like I was able to assuage some of Fenris' fear of magic, especially if I myself were  a magic. Now, I won't be able to do that with Cullen, unless possibly as a friend... ahh, that would be very sweet, if I could become Cullen's friend

Oy... so my current "not-Dragon-Age but distracting me from the fact that I'm not playing Dragon Age right now" game surprised me with a romance subplot I didn't know was there. That was a new one. And while I like the character and the "romance" was cute and all, it was so thin and... barely there that it only made me even more aware of how much I need some BioWare-level good new romance storylines. Oh Rhelmar, how I wish you had even half the depth a Cullen romance will certainly have, party limitations and all.

 

Even the friendship paths were a bit uninspired. Even as a static advisor, I expect more from Cullen's pure friendship path on my other Quizzies than from these companions' "hurr durr you me friend now" storylines.... Aaaah stupid game, you're supposed to distract me from Dragon Age, not remind me even more of it.

Lol.  Biggest problem with that game, for me, is that Randval has Fenris' voice.  Every time I speak to him, I'm just like:

"Fenris, sweetie, stop speaking in third person with that asinine accent.  And why do you look human and have a top knot?" 

 

Basically, the reason I try never to see much about the voice actors before I play a game.  Mr. Ellis might be awesome, but I'm avoiding everything with him in it like the plague for fear that when Cullen starts to speak, I won't be able to disassociate him from the actor playing him.

 

Brian Bloom is different, for some reason.  Maybe because he reminds me of a human Varric.

Se-ri-ous-ly. I spent the entire first conversation you have with Randval totally not listening to what he was saying and just thinking "...is that Gideon Emery? No way, it can't. Wait, no that's defnitely him. Nah, why is he speaking like that??? omg it's totally him how much did he laugh at this stupid accent in the recording booth tho"

 

But then I kinda got used to it and by the end it was kinda endearing? Specially when you take his romance path (which I ended up doing just to see what it was like) and he's all awkward but still adorable.... like a Fenris who'd learned the common tongue with the Fog Warriors.

Hahaha you should avoid Kingdoms of Amalur, then. Greg voices like... all the characters. Everyone. Like every male who opens his mouth is Greg Ellis. It comes to points where you have Greg talking to himself through various different NPCs, it's hilarious. I love that game to pieces, but it manages to outdo even Skyrim in lack of VO variety.

 

On the other hand, if you ever miss his voice and want to play a game almost entirely voiced by Greg Ellis, where you'll hear him everywhere you turn, then definitely do play Amalur and you won't miss him anymore.

I didn't like him at first, but he really grew on me in subsequent replays of KOTOR 2.  He is, after all, clever enough to figure Kreia out before she mindwipes him, and that's pretty cool.

Okay, one thing I hope doesn't make it into DAI -- the squirming!!! I'm playing ME3 right now and had to watch as Traynor wiggled and squirmed her way all over Shepard's couch. And it reminded me of Fenris squirming incessantly in his chair when you chatted with him.

 

I hope Cullen and co learn how to sit so that it doesn't look like they're in need of some sort of cream

Are people really that riled up by that little tweet? It seems to be a joke, but if not...why does it matter? If people are so upset that Josephine is into Cullen when neither of them are in a romance with the IQ...they were the ones who decided not to romance Cullen or Josephine. After all we have seen companions get together when they weren't romance, so it will likely be the same for two of the advisors.
