After watching and pausing the video several times at length (and also staring determinedly at Cullen's backside--for science! Well no. But for legit reasons. >.>) I still have no idea how his robe thing works. *growls about cosplay problems* I don't understand the back of it! *wails*

Hey, Boom!
Awesome to have you back!
Edit for the top:
I like the lion detail around his neck, and his armour is sooo shiny.

Maybe it is supposed to confuse us. Maybe Cullen is a god damn tease and wants the Quizzy to struggle with his unveiling because that is how he gets his jollies. Or there is this:
"You wanna see my fine naked behind? Well so do I. How the f*ck do I get this bloody thing off? It was due for a wash weeks ago. Look - the fur is all matted!"

I'm sure you'll have plenty of opportunity to stalk him in Skyhold to study the design.
As for cosplay... double sided tape?

Or it can smell good. Sheeps and elk's pelt usually smells pretty good.

Awesome to have you back!
Edit for the top:
Wow, he looks much younger in that screenshots than in the others that I saw. Did we ever find out what material the "fluffy part" is made of?
@Boom: Welcome back. Good to know that everything is back on track

I just think "brown" and don't bother. Thanks, Gala!
Hmmm, I'm trying to decided from the pic above whether Cullens eyes are going to be more reminiscent of the shade in DA:O or DA:2. I kind of hope they will be more of an amber colour.

It looks like a lion's mane, which would fit in with the lion theme for the armour?

Eyes change color depending on the lighting and the color of the walls. At least now they don't look blue, like before.
Lol. I was thinking that with the frostbite engine lighting would come into play a lot concerning the colour of things unlike in the previous games. The blue was.. no, just no. It looked so weird, glad they got that bug fixed.

You know, despite finding Cullen intriguing, and thus wanting to know more about him, since Origins, I've never once posted in the Cullen thread(s).
Which is a shame.
So this is me popping into the thread and saying, my, what lovely atmosphere you guys have here! (And I'm only partially talking about the lovely art/screenshots)

I still get the sense that all that fur stinks.
I dunno, if he takes care of it (and I'm sure he does), it should be rather nice, actually.
Actually, considering how bloody shiny his armour is, and all the time he's spent as a Templar, I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't spend at least half an hour every day making sure all of his stuff is in order. Armour cleaned, weapons sharpened and accounted for, uniform (or clothes) properly folded, pressed and put away, bed made, ect. It probably isn't implemented, but I think it'd be a really nice touch if Cullen's wanderings and doings around Skyhold were sort of regimented and scheduled--he was a soldier for most of his life, where every minute of every day is regimented and accounted for down to the second. Maybe he's not a Templar anymore, but he's still the Commander of our army, and anyway, old habits die hard. Or maybe you find him wandering on the rare occasion when there isn't any work to do and he's sort of at a loss at how to fill his time-- trying to adjust to "civilian" life (such as it is.)
I also have a headcanon that he sometimes uses his fur to as an impromptu pillow to take naps
, or when the work takes its toll and he dozes off in his chair, you can find his head leaned back on his shoulder. I imagine the fur would be a nice pillow.
Random question, but if you were to overhear Cullen singing (or humming) under his breath or while he's working and he thinks he's alone (or maybe he's just in a singing sort of mood), what song do you think it'd be and why? I'm planning out the rest of my fic and my musical tastes just aren't expansive enough. :S I've definitely decided on "Hallelujah," although that's more my Quizzy than Cullen, since she really likes to play the piano. (And she really churns down the wine while doing it! Hence the singing. And drunken playing. And she's a lot louder than she thinks she is...)

You know, guys, now I wonder again - why a lion? I wonder if it's explained in the art book. I heard the creative process is described very well there. And I think Matt Rhodes mentioned that on twitter too? I really need that art book in my life.
Edit for the top, since we found out today that Cullen is a cat (thanks to Hannah):

I suddenly had a vision of Cullen pulling out the Febreeze to freshen the fur. lol
My opinion on the singing... I think it'd be some old folk song or lullaby. Maybe something his mother used to sing to him for comfort. Maybe he doesn't really remember much more of her but that song.

I wonder if we're just reading way too much into it (back when we were speculating over whether it's because Cullen has ties to Orlais or something), and it's not just because of the qualities that a lion represents? I mean, (ignoring that male lions are very lazy), lions are protective, loyal, and fierce. They're also fiercely territorial and their pack and territory being encroached upon is one of the few things that will stir up a male lion (and have you seen lionesses fight!? wow!), and lions are often seen as a symbol of dignity, strength, courage, wisdom and authority. All traits that you'd want your army to embody and instill in the minds of others. Cullen is the Commander of our army, and that is so much more than just delegating tasks and giving out orders. He has to inspire morale in our soldiers as well, and hold himself up as an example for them to follow. The lion can also be a symbol of leadership. Going by that, the lion makes sense. But that's just me. :S
Edit: I just had a horrible thought that his whole lion motif is just foreshadowing to Cullen dying like Mustafa or something.
That moment in the Lion King really got to me as a kid.
