First 5 lines of the steamy new blockbuster by Varric Tethras: Seduction in Skyhold:

 

The snow fell down upon the battlements, drifting silently across the courtyards and rooftops. Cullen peered down from his tower window, feeling the heat of the fire in the hearth, and yet he still shivered. None of his soldiers were out practicing today. Instead, he had them in the library, reading up on templar abilities, and studying how to use them against the men who had become the Inquisition's enemies. The falling snow made him feel lonely, and like he needed a hot cup of tea.

I think until you've walked a mile in a Cullenite's shoes. Or rather, been part of the over 6000 pages we've created on the BSN, all the while dodging differing amounts of very gendered trolling over the past 3+ years that made us stick to the Cullen thread instead of venturing elsewhere, it's hard for you to see how ostracized we have been as a fanbase.

The fact that you have no beef with the fans themselves is honestly refreshing.

Edit: or rather, what Panda and you already said as I wait for BSN to actually post.

My only real beef with with Cullen fans is I partly blame their love that Cullen continues to show up in my games which gets irritating...aside from that I've no qualms. you like who you like.

One Jacob in a game was too many of all the things they could have planned for him as a character! Cullens on the other hand... Hmmmm could the Inquisitor deal with multiple Cullens in one game? Would they outfox the Inquisitor or would the Inquisitor be the cause of multiple headaches? thoughts to ponder

yeah, the degree of fan service on this one is debatable. Even in the darkest times, DG has stated they prefer characters who garner a reaction. Good or bad. So in some sense, both you and I are to blame.

Greetings my fellow refugees. I just wanted to share my message of optimism with the good people here. I honestly can't see any other outcome to this other than the thread being restored to us. I mean based on eyewitness accounts the regular members did not contribute to the incident, the Cullen thread is undeniably the most prolific on BSN and generally the most inviting/kind, and we have a month until launch and I doubt we will be further punished given all of that. Stay strong!

May the maker watch over us all.

it's not about not liking cullen. it's about people being rude and downright viscous to his fanbase for liking a character. which sadly happens a lot.

No you did just as you ought. I just read through the posts from last night. It was just the one (reposted) image and folks telling him(?) to remove it. Far less offensive than problems we've had in the past. A far cry from pages of spoilery discussion.

I never romanced Jacob, but man was he stale. And did they need two daddy issue loyalty quests? And then what happened in ME3... I feel sorry for anyone who romanced that character, despite Thane's romance getting little recognition, at least his character and the departure of his character was interesting, a novel idea! Jacob... eugh.

Here's mine (yet again), with the promise, that if you like it, I will write a whole chapter (a very small chapter  ), to cheer your spirits. It's best that we move on from this discussion, as it is getting into dangerous territory for our well being.

 

The templar turned Commander was stressed, as usual, the little furrow between his brows slowly etching itself deeper as he pored over recent acquisitions. "We don't have nearly enough supplies for our soldiers," he announced, pivoting to face his new company. Pity, I was enjoying the view, thought the Inquisitor, slowly walking towards the war table and bending over it. "We'll make do... what's more important is that you relax more. You're going to destroy that scroll you're holding if you continue." The Commander was almost too quick to reply with a brusque snort. "And how do you propose that?" He asked, his temper fraying. "Do you think chatting about it will suddenly make supplies appear? Do you think chatting will 'calm me down'?" The Inquisitor, however, had better ideas. Slowly walking behind the Commander, the savvy leader began to knead the man's shoulders with force built from years of sparring..........

 

Note: I feel that I am soooo bad at this... Also, for what little there is, I made the Inquisitor gender neutral. I know she's canonically female, but... well. No excuses. Reviews are more than welcome.

 

Kurin you should finish it, and hey I said any choice of inquisitor...so if you want to write a male quizzy or dwarf or Tal Vashoth, that's fine...

For some reason I'm sort of seeing him as Grissom from CSI here now that would be odd! The DA crew as CSI agents I think I need more caffeine, I'm not making too much sense.
