Throwing this out there as a newly arrived fan, in both terms of this forum and Cullen himself:

I had never considered anything about Cullen, until I had played Origins as a Circle Mage.
Not having dialogue that allowed me to return the affectionate feelings made my heart sink.

I look forward to learning about his character in Inquisition.
And joining the fellow Cullen lovers of this forum!

At this point, Cullen should start purring, like a cat...  ;)

I was going to have him initially reject it. My Cullen is a very angsty one :). But later.... remind me, is taking the Maker's name in vain a bad thing?

So..Gaider keeps bringing them in to makes you happy and to tick me off? I gotta try fan tears...stuff must be delicious if Gaider keeps guzzling the stuff down.

You do realise that characters like Garrus and Tali being romanceable was also a case of fanservice and the sole reason Tali was even in ME3 at all was due to Patrick Weekes and some of the writers protesting like crazy, when they heard that the original plans were for her not to appear?

Fanservice can be a good thing, because it turns out that some of the writers, creators and developers of the games happen to be fans as well. :)

If not, then I'm sure this thread will transform into, what is it up to now?  4.0?

It's amazing how much love Cullen has on BSN.

Yep this would be 4.0, but hopefully there is no need for that since the 3.0 involved some hard work. Opening posts by R2Muse with countless links and lots of info and page celebration posts from everyone.

Welcome to our refugee camp! Sadly we are here and seem to be out of cookies too (hmm maybe DA fan has something to spare if he's around at the moment). Still, welcome to cullenites ^_^

You know what would be awesome is if they could merge Cullen 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, and this one. I think there would be about 9000 pages. If not more.

That would be a really interesting thing to see :) one lovely thing about the Cullenites though is that even should 3.0 not be restored (worst case scenario) we will still probably be the biggest thread in the forum again by launch day. We have so many amazing contributors :)

Depends on your own point of view - I say stuff like 'God's teeth' all the time.  If my mum hears it, or any kind of 'taking the Lord's name in vain', she tuts and makes faces, as she thinks it's not appropriate.  I sometimes do it just so she has something to complain about!  :D

Not a big loss to me, because I didn't romance either of them...but not to bringing Tali into the game is Heresy. But then again, considering what ME3 became this really doesn't surprise me. * Refuses to let go of seething bitterness even after two years*

Fanservice can be either good or bad. I felt like Tali's inclusion beyond Rannoch was awkward but Garrus actually added something. Many of the cameos in DA2 felt like the devs nudging me and saying "look, you imported." If Cullen's romance is well-written and sstrengthens DAI's story, it will have been a good decision.

Pretty much. However please consider it works both ways...I can not tell you how much I disliked Anders in DA2, I suspect you'd understand if I said the same way that you feel about Cullen. DG loves fan tears...they make delicious cakes.

Haha, I can just picture it.  DG sitting and hunched over his desk, surfing the internet with taps of his keyboard, laughing maniacally as people rage for and against characters, saying, "What flavor of cake should I make today?"

:P

Wrong. He makes a special energy drink out of them: Gaiderade. It rejuvenates the drinker and gives them the energy of youth for a short while.

Side effects include a propensity to tease and a tendency to use vague terms.

I suspect many at Bioware have had a taste at one point or another. ;)

OK, so falling back to my noble fishwife from the page 3000 celebration, this is a bantering conversation in Skyhold that involves Cullen. Sort of. Sorry, this is written kind of quickly because I do actually have to work some today.

Spoiler

And I can't imagine either of them taking her up on that challenge...

Who needs the soaps when you can watch thousands of real people hotly debating your creations whilst you sit godlike in your spoilery knowledge  i can't wait to immerse myself in DAI and come out with even more opinions to debate :)

I think almost everyone did. My level of disappointment in his attitude 180 was high. Luckily we had Isabela and Varric for the humour brigade :)

He's still not a companion.  T_T  But, an adviser and a romance option is better than nothing!   :D  Quite more than I was expecting, actually.
