Actually, maybe Basement Cat didn't mean to reference twilight but Kaibe definitely did!

 

 

 

It's actually his name.

It's originally a reference to the Bible: The lion and the lamb shall lay down together.

But of course Twilight used it. I'm not ashamed to know that. I learned it through the Mark reads blog. Check it out. His reading of Twilight is... enlightening. And hilarious.

 

I wonder if we'll be able to make jokes about Cullen's 'pride' in game...

I was just reading about yesterday's situation and to my mind there's something a little suspicious about the whole thing.  Someone's spoiler images were deleted by the mods, then they reposted them and then acted a little peculiarly after the thread was deleted.

 

Without necessarily assuming they were trolling, we have attracted some attention lately and we all know there are some people that would be happier if we weren't here.  I think we should be alert and report anything out of line immediately.

Out of curiousity how often are we cullenites attacked

 

Last attack was about 3-4 months ago.

 

People don't like this fandom. There's no practical reason not to, so we suspect it's rooted in misogyny -- a bunch of women lusting after a male video game character / we don't want womenz in our video game fandoms / etc.

 

Yes it's a stereotype b/c yes this fandom is multi-gender, and yes it's a small group of haters b/c yes most gamers and BW fans aren't misogynistic woman-fearing a-holes

OT: Just finished Priority: Thessia and OMG, the tears, the TEARS! rolling down my face!  That's on top of Thane and Legion and Mordin  and oh god, more tears, Shepard hanging his head, afraid to speak to the councilor, wounded, hurt, distraught, losing hope...

 

...I don't know if I want DAI to rip my heart out like this or not; it's painful damn it! But this is my third time playing through the whole trilogy, so maybe I love the abuse?! 

 

Okay, yes, I think I do want DAI to be emotionally painful. You don't replay games that don't make you feel anything at all, right?! I just wonder if we can reach the same emotional height since we'll have a new PC and not the same guy/girl throughout all three games like ME.

oh ive always liked the cullenites so i never saw the problem.

So odd how BW is progressive but has recessive fans.. oh well i found a another happy thread

Yep, lore is extremely, extremely inconsistent on this. There's also Moira, Hugh, Keran, and any number of "first name" only templars we know.

Never gave that any thought - both are names that can be surnames, at least where I live.  It seems a bit odd.  My dad was in the army, and I can't see his CO calling him 'Gunner John'.

We also seem to get someone dropping by apparently trying to stir s**t with an aggressive or angry post on Cullen and/or Cullenites, usually in offensive and/or sexist language. Fortunately, most of the Cullenites have learned to cope with it effectively, and I've even seen a few end up admitting there might be more to him after all than fan service to wimmens.
