.. maybe that, in this case, Cullen let the Inquisitor win? I think it's possible.<< And now I go back in the shadows :)

If we judge her chess expertise base on mine, this will be the most likely course of events. I would like her to lose on occassion :]

I don't know. I must be weird, but I didn't think the scene was boring. There was a new nugget of info about Cullen's background, and it was awesome to see him so confident and relaxed, and interacting so comfortably. And damn if he's not sexy as hell.

I didn't find it boring, either! I was hanging off of every word between all of them. And you are so right--new information about Cullen, how can that be boring when we have been pondering for years about his background? *shakes fists in excitement* And yes I may be a big nerd but chess can be a very sexy game if the right hormones are running around. ;)

Def. agree about chess. It's slow and thoughtful, and the move/counter-move dynamic can leave a lot of room for flirtation.

Sorry, my english is bad, I meant that perhaps he already did let her win? He's supposed to be good at chess while we don't know much about the Inquisitor's level. Unless she's a super talented being (ala Shepard), and since she played fair, I wonder why she won?

I understand what you mean. It only would be appropriate that our tactical advisor, our General, and the Commander of our armed forces would be the best chess player in Skyhold, would it not?

Like the game in The Thomas Crown Affair...

I haven't played in decades - I wonder if the game actually lets you make moves??  [Panic!]

oh, my goodness!! so much Cullen! yaaasss. as far as the ellis vid, i never did think that was happening. well, for a hot minute i did, but really, as soon as they pulled the plug on his twitter cullen talk ellis wanted to do months and months ago--talking abt "we're gonna do a vid". *snort*

but i'm okay with that. I really really enjoyed playing thedas chess with him. seeing him all relaxed and happy. can't wait to ask abt his family.

i'm thinking Ms. Brianne Battye did a very good job writing Cullen. i like his stories. and then the segway to him wondering if his sister stills plays. kinda made me sad for him there, tbh. i was thinking, hmm, maybe we need to go find her..and his brother. these are crazy times. let's see if they're okay!

i wonder how they are going to pace the romances? i mean, will i have to romance them right away, or lose the opportunity? like in da2 if you did not pick a flirt option--there were no more options later.

i'd like to pace my "attraction" to him. start as friends then have it heat up. i don't wanna start out flirting immediately. but then i'm worried if i don't, they'll lock me out.

and i think i'm gonna disable the icons.  i think the paraphrases should be enough for me, and it may add a bit of fun. and, well, when that heart icon shows up, i just feel compelled to click it.....

*fans self* Guys, I just can't get over his smile! It seems like that has been the hardest emotion to animate in DA and other Bioware titles, and this time they just nailed it! His eyes crinkle! It looks natural! I'm absolutely sold!
*swoons*

All hail the new engine!

ALL HAIL!

This just reminds me of the original Superman with Christopher Reeve... when Lois first interviews him on her roof top veranda (seriously woman, how much do you make to afford those swank digs?) and she's all flustered and busts out with "What color underwear am I wearing?!". LOL Then he takes her for a fly around town and she's all swoony when they return... It's going to be like that, except with chess.

R2 - I can't wait for you to start the Inquisitor x Cullen fics!

LOL I love that. Gah, Christopher Reeve Superman. Hubba. and, working on one now!

Thank the maker they didn't choose the flirt option, otherwise choosing it myself I'd hear awkward devs' comments a la "feels like 100k Cullen fangirls just stopped breathing" ^_^

oh Maker, you're probably right.

That would be a nice mini-game. Maybe in an upcoming expansion? (hint, hint!)

I still remember the poker table on the Normandy in Mass Effect 3 and thought it would have been a great diversion to play poker with Normandy squad mates during missions. Also, if you had the "Citadel" DLC there was a game table at your apartment and likewise it would have been fun to invite people over to play cards (Bonus points if other card games like Rummy or Hearts would have been offered).

Alas, you only saw Vega and Kaidan playing poker on the Normandy...and the game table at the Citadel apartment was only for banter during the "quiet" party sequences. So much potential wasted...   :(

I didn't either. I was actually watching with bated breath. LOL Excited and nervous they'd reveal something they shouldn't.

One thing I love, watching it over and over again, is how cocky and yet respectful and nice he is. He's like... Han Solo and Luke Skywalker all rolled into one!

So... apparently in ME3 I am in a relationship with Kaidan while simultaneously being in a semi-relationship with Steve  After one mission he told me not to worry him so much, and now on Earth, after the infamous "STEEEEVE!" Shepard tells him to stay safe, and he replies, "Anything for you."

Good god, man, Kaidan is right there, show some respect!

Steve Cortez, man-poacher

Frankly I don't know, but now that we talk about it, Shepard was not the best at chess in comparison with Samantha, at least.

you know, that last line from Cullen abt "well, it appears you have this one. well played." and the animation...the way he...leaned back into his chair while his eyes never left her.

idk, it just felt like a bit sexual tension.

or, that's me maybe..lol!

You are taking Kaidan on the final mission, right? And you do have the Extended Cut, right?   :)

(And if you're playing on the PC, you do have the "Mass Effect Happy Ending Mod", right??)

Just checking...

Yes! When he says, "Really? Because I just won, and I feel fine." The tone of voice is so damn smug and I love it. I love seeing the confidence he has in himself. We have always seen him unsure and questioning everything and now he just sounds so sure of himself.  ^_^ Bloody sexy man, my quizzy doesn't stand a chance.

Never played ME, though I watched my daughters (Garrus almost tempted me to play). Leliana in DAO has been my ninja-mancer most of the time, followed by Alistair.
