[rant incoming, ignore me]
You know, it's hilarious that we're having this conversation right now, because I just had a post cross my tumblr dashboard with someone moaning and narming about the usual "Cullenites are all just Alistair fangirl scurrying after the next best Alistair substitute," and it's just such... a short sighted perspective. We have every end of the spectrum right here in the thread, dudes, dudettes, people who love Anders, people who love Sebastian, people who love Fenris, hardcore Zevran romancers, lesbians! omg! who love Leli and Bela and Merrill, people who don't romance at all, and yeah, shock of shocks, even Alistair fans.
It's almost like... almost like Cullen is his own character??!? Almost like Cullen is such an interesting character in and of himself, with his own traits, his own qualities and flaws, that all kinds of fans, from all kinds of backgrounds, can find something interesting, some new and different angle to love about him! Almost like he doesn't need to compare to previous love interests to be a good love interest or best friend or favorite rival or whatnot! He gets to be a whole unique character all for himself, that his fans get to like for his own merits. A mind-blowing concept to wrap your head around, isn't it.
Wow. Wow. Such Cullen. Much character. Wow.

I love Alistair, he is my DA:O romance and I really can't move past him to romance anyone else when playing DA:O but the last thing I want is for Cullen to be like Alistair. He is a grown ass man, if he nervously twiddled his thumbs throughout most of the romance.... just NO. And he doesn't need to compare to previous love interests because he is his own character and we are interested in him because he is Cullen, not because he is reminiscent of someone else. It would be nice if people could come to understand this and why we like him. He is interesting, he is a good person, he has very human faults and is no where near perfect and there aren't really that many main characters quite like that in games. In short, kiss it, Cullen is amazing! If you haven't guessed, I agree with you completely. 
Oh, and he is also smoking hot!

I think Cullen is an amazing character and he has an interesting personality(and I can't wait to discover all his family and ex-templar stories ) 
Anyway,I was wondering,what are your predictions towards Cullen romance itself?I mean,will there be interesting stuff when you play as mage or maybe there will be some kind of a special dialogue option connected with your class? 
Btw,I will play as a mage quizzy as well...so we'll see 
And yes, I do prefer him over Alistair
