Ah, thanks! I didn't know it was just part of the game. Even so, it's good to realize that NOWHERE will be safe when that time comes. LOL

Yeah I'm seriously considering total media blackout a week before release. Except for this thread, of course, because everyone here will be a super good sport and use proper spoiler tags if they have Early Access (and even after US release, in courtesy to our brothers and sisters in Europe and Australia), right guys? Riiiiight? ;)

I probably would have been more disgruntled by the fangirl imitation if they didn't look so miserable- I wanted to tell them to go get some sleep already lol. Also, not going to lie, while I may have been looking very professional at my desk, I did squee a little inside at the chess scene.

There has been so much Cullen goodness the last few days! I'm so excited! I've been bubbling up every morning in excitement over YT clips and all of you providing much reprieve from my law degree. I have my last exam tomorrow. Thank goodness for Cullen, or else I'd be even more miserable!

I can't believe I have to wait till the 20th!!!! It's going to be so terrible. It's already terrible now. I need this game. Like, right now. Gimme gimme gimme....

Speaking of Viv...

Spoiler

It would have been hilarious, I agree, but unfortunately that wasn't Vivienne. The girl in The Calling was called Vivian, but most importantly... that story happened 32 years ago. ;) Even if it was the same girl going by a different alias, that would put Vivienne in her sixties at the time of Inquisition. That's one sexy grandma we're taking along.  :P

I actually found the impersonation hilarious?
Because it was honestly true.

"I'm gonna go find Cullen"
*INNER SQUEALING*

I can't be angry about something that pin-pointed me so perfectly.
Every time they mention them in the streams, I manage to laugh at myself.
It's all in good fun.

I agree. There was nothing offensive.

Frankly, I think it was ridiculous to complain about that. Its almost like people look for reasons to be offended in this fandom.

Those developers are working their butts off. They did not need to be bothered by something so insignificant at this stage.

So, in one of the videos lately they mentioned that there was no customization of the Quizzy's casual outfit.  Do you think this means that every race will have a modified version of the sort of black-sock-in-with-the-whites coloured pant suit we saw or do you think they might have a completely different outfit and that would just be the HF mage version?  At any rate, I fear my desire to swan around the castle in something glamorous isn't going to be fulfilled this game around.   :(

I would have adored it if we could change the clothes and I really wanted something awesomely pretty to wear. I mean, Quizzy can't flirt with Cullen looking drab! And beige would totally wash out my pale Quizzy! *SIgh*

The difficulties of life - maybe she can put on some nice coloured lipstick.

That being said though, despite the colouring.... I kind of like the outfit. There's something about the buttons that's classy.

I think the regulars try to be respectful of spoilers (at least, once the initial excitement wears off), but we have new folks dropping in all the time who won't know what our usual practice is. It's already been happening. Plus, everyone's threshold for what *is* a spoiler is different. I wouldn't expect it to be safe here, either, TBH.

I'm thinking it will be pantsuit for everyone, like Hawke's dreadful bathrobe was the same for all classes. In DA2 I modded that away to wear armor inside the manor, but alas, in DAI it looks like we'll have to just get to pantsuiting around the place.

There's a certain tacky elegance to it, I guess. If only it wasn't so... beige. It's at least less ugly than Hawke's robe, that's for sure. But I fear we won't be able to swan around in long frilly outrageous Orlesian gowns as I'd wished too, no.

I apologize if my lack of offense offends you and leads you to assume that I am not as deep of a Cullen fan as many of you.

But I assure you that every mention of his character in the slightest sends the butterflies of excitement loose in the pit of my stomach.
I am ready to get my hands on Inquisition and share every detail of our fangirling together as one whole,

provided that I have caught up to the majority, so there won't be any spoilers in store, lol.

(although I see we've moved past all this--which is good--I just wanna say)..

It's not abt being a "deep" Cullen fan. Truth is, many are not deep Cullen fans. They like Cullen enough and enjoy the thread, that's all. There's no requisite.

I think it's more the point was that those that have become identified as Cullen fans here have had to put up with alot of crap. You know? It's not a single thing, but it can build up. I went through this being a Kaidan fan, too. eeee. And from ME devs , too. It can grate.

Mind you, I'm not offended by alot of things, either. It's just been that kinda life. lol! But sometimes I can understand where others are coming from with it....and sometimes I don't.

Yes, I unabashedly squee over Cullen, but then I squee over damn near everything they release in promo stuff. I squeed over that dragon fight they had at the end of Enemy of Thedas trailer. Well, I squeed over the whole dam thing actually. lol!

But there is this idea there...this perception. Like someone said you don;t see squeeing fanboy impersonations. So, that tells me that something is amiss.

Regardless, to me it speaks more to a certain discomfort many guys have--not all, ofc--with ideas and talk of romance and that sorta stuff. I see it as a strange coping mechanism to deal with uncomfortable feelings of ..possibly... vulnerability.

Mostly a lurker in this thread (I spend more time in the twitter and Solas threads) but I do have to say I was surprised at the controversy the devs generated over their "fangirl squee" comment in the recent twitch stream.  Squeeing has been a running joke for a long time on the forums and the comment didn't bother me at all.  In fact I did squee a bit at the Cullen/Dorian scene.  Yes,  there has been a tendency to assume female gamers play more for the romances (which is not true, although we possibly spend more time on our head canon's involving our romantic partners), but even if that is true (and I don't think it is), who cares.  RPG games are an escapist fantasy that we can enter at our whim and enjoy in the way we see fit.   For me (and I suspect many others) a good cRPG is a combination of a great book, a movie and a tabletop gaming session where everyone stays in character.  I'll squee if I want, confident in my own femininity and proceed to tactically smash the bad guys on harder difficulties.

Although I didn't join the computer age in the era of punch cards, my early childhood was defined by Captain Kirk as much as Captain Kangaroo.  I work in a career (food animal veterinarian) where sexism is common and, unfortunately, accepted.  I don't think the comment was made in a sexist tone and seemed to be as much joking with the fans by exhausted devs as anything else.  Anyway, my 2 cents. Ignore it if you wish.

Let's not argue about it any more.  Something that doesn't strike a specific individual as offensive can still be upsetting to others and clearly there were people who felt they needed to express their disappointment at the comment.  It is their right as a consumer to express that opinion.   :)

Let's not sour our happy place with debating who should feel what about anything.   :)

Hawke's bathrobe and boots ensemble was a crime against fashion and taste!  Mind you her peculiar MOTA outfit was worse, so I think we can agree that Hawke should never be allowed to dress herself.  She's letting Kirkwall's side down badly, what would Vivianne have said!

@alwayshungry & Lara Denton, thx for the groupie invites, meant to thank you earlier, but RL makes it difficult for me to hang out in here for more than 5min ^^' (or any other forums / whateves)

And late as usual, but finally able to catch up \(^_^)/ that chess vid is awsome, but it also made me very very worried, though.. Worried about will I ever get to play my other planned FemQuisitor that's not romancing him <.< Judging from how things look at the moment, I don't think I'll be able to break the curse of not romancing one particular LI over and over and over >.< [if I like a certain character and his romance ark, I usually get really hooked and it'll be difficult -bordering impossible- for me to un-romance him]

Nope. I highly suspect the curse will still remain, with Cullen being so hawt and all that.. >.<

Cullenites are often attacked by misogynist remarks so I think that's why some of us are more sensitive to matters like that. I know that the dev didn't meant it badly but everytime dev says something like that Cullen haters take it as prove that we are just mindless fangirls after Cullen only because he's sexy. Sigh, I have seen too many post about it during my time as cullenite which hasn't even been so long.

I have that same curse. It's so hard for me to romance anyone else. sigh. Although, Blackwall has been turning my head. Perhaps on a second PT.

Or perhaps I'll just have to see how everything goes. But...mmm..something abt that chess game kinda sealed the deal. Again. He brought me back home with that scene. Idk why, though. something abt it.

Next to link in toolbar when you do post there is icon of photo, click it and just put your link for picture in that. Link needs to have picture only so right click picture and "show picture" (or something similar in your countrys language, it's in finnish for me).

This is proper link for that photo: https://i.imgflip.com/dc36p.jpg

But then I also remember my Cousland's "noble outfit" and my Tabris' "wedding dress" and it seems like I'm fated to play characters with godawful fashion taste. -_- It pains me, it truly does. Vivi is a fashion queen after my own heart, all her snark will cut deeply into my soul as I wail into the screen, I DIDN'T CHOOSE THIS THEY'RE MAKING ME WEAR THIS POTATO SACK I'M SO SORRY. :crying: :crying: :crying:

At least Cullen will always love us, regardless of our questionable taste in tacky beige potato sack pantsuits. That's true love for you.
