I admit he looks good, but explain to me how a male mage has arms like that, and a female warrior gets pencil arms?
Garrett had to helped his father working in the field & putting all that hays, while Marian might not need to do that maybe?

Because Male Hawke likes to work out, while Fem Hawke likes to be worked on?

Ever tried to swing a sword and hold up a shield to block blows while wearing heavy armor? A warrior with pencil arms isn't going to make it through 5 seconds of battle (not to mention the unlikelihood of actually hitting hard enough to do any damage).

.....Waaaiiit a minute! He DOES. Lol oh my god. (still 10/10 would bang)

OK, that made me laugh. ![]()
However, on a more serious note, there's a reason I object, and pretty strongly. I have a close relative who struggles with anorexia (to the point of being hospitalized once-at 5'10", she was being told she was fat at under 105 pounds by a boyfriend), and it drives me nuts to see unrealistic depictions of women, even in games, that send messages of unachievable bodies. I'd much rather see games depicting believable women and making it clear that they are attractive. It's one of the reasons I'm a little grouchy that the female dwarves appear to have slimmed out so much; there was nothing wrong with the DAO dwarven women's shapes (other than possibly poor proportions on arm length). A bone thin mage, I can understand (as long as they do the same thing to male and female mages).

)
O_O Join us, Join us in the mighty organization that will make your heart explode...cause you know Cullen is going to give Alistair a run for his swooning.
OK, that made me laugh.

I get an impression that the whole problem lays on stereotyped conception of how a woman should be, or even should walk? In high fantasy setting such as Thedas, we have women who wield swords or daggers and go to battles. The Fem!Quizzy and Cassandra are fighters, not Empress of Orlais or Queen of Antiva.
Even mages who do battles still do so much movements. In cinematic trailer of DA2 it's clear how a mage Garrett still needs his biceps in battle. Man or woman, in Thedas to be a fighter those muscles are needed, not that hip swaying and pencil arms.
I petition for a more realistic looking female warriors, rogues and mages in fantasy games. ![]()
I try!
(And it's good I can still laugh and make (bad) jokes, after being accused of being a troll in that other tread...)
Wow. That's all I'm saying...but...just wow. ![]()

Pfft, we all know that this is the only thread on the forums that really constitutes as being awesome, right people?

Disclaimer: There are other awesome threads but since I am a hermit and don't venture far from the glorious Cullen I have somewhat of a bias opinion on this matter.
Hi all!!!
Love this thread! This is my first post, and it is a question to you Cullen folks. In order to romance or befriend Cullen, do you think we will have to be "pro-templar" and/or "pro-chantry"? Ie, if I make a bunch of pro-mage desision, or decisions that use mages rather than templars as agents, will Cullen get upset?
The reason I ask is that I have been a huge Cullen fan since I strarted playing DA, and I love his story and am so excited to learn more about him (and listen to that velevety voice of his). I pre-ordered the day it was confirmed Cullen would be a part of our group. But, I was hoping to play a very anti-chantry mage in my first playthrough, and wondered if that would block me from getting to know him better or romancing him. Have you guys heard anything about that?
I am fine to play a different charcater my first time, since I am sure I will play it over and over, but I really want to plot out the best charcter for my first playthrough with the main goal of getting to get to know certain folks that I am excited about...Solas, Dorian, and Cullen. Any thoughts?
Has any heared how exactly the romances will work?
I am very pro mage and Im hoping that stance will not hurt my chances at romancing Cullen...if it will I need to change up my game play.
Ha ha! Looks like I am not the only one wondering this!
It breaks my heart how true this is. But Ali will always have a special place in my
because he was my first game romance
Leli was my first game romance so I understand! Or was it Morrigan...eh...I had so many PTs going on at the same time.
Also I am feeling a bit nostalgic since I am listening to some Evanescence and just reminded they are on "an extended break". I wish they would come back because I find that there songs make the best tributes to characters and romances!

I will just reply to both of you here! Class does not restrict romance in any way. Although let's say your IQ is a mage and romancing Cullen then definently expect that to be mentioned or brought up in that relationship, I mean it would get disappointing if that was not brought up. So it will only make the romances all the more deeper and "real" in the sense of how people's past will come to play in romances.
We have learned that we can disagree with people, and as long as you aren't an ass about it you should not have to worry about too much backlash. Or at least that is what a lot of tweets have said.

Welcome to the BSN and the lovely Cullen thread!
As to your question, no, no one has told us that specifically, since that's a spoiler. However, we also know that Cullen can't leave us, so he may not have the extreme approval probs that the companions have. But anything in between and how it will affect his romance, hard to say until we see once and for all where he really stands on the whole mage-templar-chantry business. He's disenchanted with the templars, but stll leading some and still wearing their heraldry (sometimes). Working with the Chantry, until he's not. Could go many different ways.
That being said, the devs said early on that where the DA2 companions were about extremes, in DAI the characters are about moderation. So, Cullen may be best swayed by some middle of the road views. We'll know soon enough!
I wish we knew more. I don't want to be 70+ hrs in and then be rooster (insert other word here) blocked because Im a fanatic Mage supporter lol O well guess that is the fun of trying it out.Welcome to the BSN and the lovely Cullen thread!
