The nice thing about the DA games is that each playthrough can be completely unique if you allow it to be. I plan on exhausting the heck out of this game until I've done every kind of playthrough imaginable, discovering every little dialogue option and hidden gem
And after that I'll probably do it all over again!
Yep same here and guess what...I can do it on TWO consoles! First on the Ps3 and then onto the PS4 a month later...I really hope I am able to download my save files since I plan on uploading to the online storage, but if I have to start over with no save files that doesn't really bother me.
Everyone except Varric, Bull, Cole and Dorian for party members they are the only ones I am interested in.
Cool! I personally am interested in all of them, but we will see if that changes when we actually "meet" them.
He does seem to have that effect on a lot of peeps. ![]()
Speaking of which...I better be sure to take my blood pressure medicine before starting a game of DAI...or its liable to be nosebleed city for me.
I'm sure once I meet them all I will start to like them. But for now the only person who has my full attention is Cullen lol I'm just so in love with his character I can't help it.
You are not alone ![]()
I am probably most interested in Solas and Sera. It is true that I love elves to pieces, so that makes sense
But I find both their characters and backgrounds intriguing.
EDIT: Also, Cole!!! Because I loved him in Asunder sooo much ![]()
oh man. i adventured past the bsn land and..there is a lot of cullen hate. D : my life has been a lie! people can be pretty viscous to his fans. and scary. not that i didn't know that, but yikes! just another reason that this thread is brilliant. srsly, this is probably my favorite thread of any forum i've been on. even if you guys don't like a character you don't wish their death in 100 ways.
(just had to drop in to say that. people be crazy. o-o)
Is it better to read the Dragon Age books in order? does it matter?
I imagine if he was supervising the creche, if you were to look in the door and observe, he'd be under a kiddie pile-up, covered in paint, mushed fruit, other unexplained gooey stuff and the kids would be having the best fun picking on him, the gruff Commander is actually the biggest softie
I think he'll be really good with children, he certainly seems to have plenty patience
OK, so the Cullen and children story happened (for fun, though it's a very rough draft.) It's close to 1000 words, is that too long to put in here in spoilers?

I don't think the order should matter since each is a story of its own. I read The Calling and then Asunder and am saving to by Stolen Throne before I read Masked Empire.
Alright, thanks! xD
I just bought the Masked Empire today, so hopefully it's good
So my SWTOR guild was working to refine our schedule for events during the month of November during a meeting tonight. I go ahead and pull up my calendar and start considering the best date for one specific gathering of our varied characters, and I suddenly realize how friggin' close we are to PLAYING INQUISITION. I had to tell my guildies, "Nope, can't do that. Too close to DAI. Let's choose another date."
So now I'm doing excited little dances all over the place.

Do eet. Spoiler tag if you feel more comfortable, by all means.

Not for me, please do the thing. ![]()
Edit: 100 posts, what an achievement, lol!
OK, I warn you, this is literally a stream-of-thought rough draft. As usual, my PC name was picked randomly from my Russian English dictionary. And I tossed Josephine into the story since she's our one known non-combatant.
"Charge!"

The Stolen Throne should be read before The Calling by David Gaider as they both revolve around King Maric, Alistair's father. The other novels can be read in any order.
Tishina, that was wonderful. I'm so glad you posted it.
since we're on the topic, I still have The Calling to read as well as Last Flight, I've heard rumors that a certain character may be in both (I'll leave it at that so as to not spoil, or start a conversation which may spoil me). Is there also a recomendation to read one before the other? Cause I have to admit, I don't know if I can read both of them before the game comes out, and Last Flight seems like it might be more relevent to whatever happens in the game, but I don't want to read out of order if its important...opinions?
EDIT: also, that story was adorable
bread swords! ![]()
I love that story! !

I'm glad ya'll liked it. I really hesitated because there's so little description (you only know she's Dalish because she mentions her clan), but the idea grabbed me after we joked about it.
I really wish that we might be able to do something like that in the game!
Moments like that in Origins, where the City Elf could make up that story to the Alienage kids, reassure that small lost kid in Lothering and or be a cool Aunt or Uncle to Oren in the Human Noble origin, were a great touch and served to give our Warden's way more depth to them.
It's a shame that Hawke never got any real moments like that DA2, aside from that scene with those kids during Act 3 who's guardian turned into an abomination. It's a shame that the sarcastic option was relatively meanspirited in that scene, because I always pictured Sarcastic Hawke as being awesome when dealing with children?

Oren broke my heart. "fear my sword of truthiness!"
