Hm I didn´t find it that spoilery actually,if you´ve been following interviews,trailers etc. most of these things aren´t that surprising but there might be somethings you want to avoid I guess

I agree with what they said. If you've completely avoided spoilers, it would be pretty spoilery. But even though I haven't avoided spoilers, one or two still surprised me a little.

Can I get an invite to the non-spoilers group? I'm part of the spoilers group already, and I haven't been avoiding spoilers so far, but I'd like to avoid any major plot or romance spoilers and I will probably have to retreat to the non-spoilers group about a week before launch if I don't want to accidentally find out something major

It's such a pity, it will be sad to see so many people "going dark" over the next few weeks but I understand what you are saying. I don't mind spoilers myself and in all honesty the folksies on this thread are generally pretty good about tagging spoilers, however, as more and more bits are found & released, imo it's going to get more difficult to avoid occasional woopsies

 

 

I am exactly the same Lol. Personally, I feel so uncomfortable and awkward around really young children and babies, I just don't connect with them atall, yet I'm like a magnet lol

New mums used to bring their babies to work to show them off, all the other folks would be cooing over them, smelling their feet and such (what is that about? lol), I'd be either at the other end of the office or all of a sudden called to a meeting, avoidance being the key

I can read about kiddie cuteness though, just don't ask for real life examples from me lol they would be few and far between

 

Same here - and yet the little buggers *love* me!  My co-workers would make a point of bringing their little bundles of joy to my desk, and they always smiled and chatted away to me quite happily.  My super power is being able to get even the most fractious baby to sleep in 5/10 minutes!

@Kids discussion, It's weird, but I, being a 20-something guy, well, I want to have a child. I have no idea why, or how, but I just want to raise a little human. That being said, I want a husband first, so a child is definitely not in my near future... but I want one. And it freaks me right the hell out. (Also makes me an outlier amongst a lot of my friends ).

 

EDIT: What's even scarier is that the fact that they are a mess to clean up after, and are loud.... just don't faze me. Also I do love kids. It's great watching them make patterns and connect to things for the first time. I mean, I once saw a baby figure out which peg goes in which hole, and I just died of joy.

There's nothing in the world quite like watching a toddler figuring out how the world works. It's all so new to them. Though there are also the times when they discover things like using a toy to test gravity, making a loud banging sound, over and over and over. Whoever claimed that small children have short attention spans is an effing liar because one of mine "tested gravity" with a toy for two...hours...straight (a couple of years later, I'd have been savy enough to simply make the toy disappear and distract her with something else).

I have the upmost respect and admiration for you and others who are parents or want to be parents, it surely must be one of the most selfless things a person can be or do, to dedicate yourself to shaping a life and a future for your children! I hope it all works out for you in the future I just never believed I'd be any good at it, so chose not to go down that path.

I have a thing about gunk and bodily functions, bad mix for me with children My brothers other half does the most disgusting things with my nephews snot (not going any further than that!) I literally can't cope, feel sick, come out in sweats, I'm pretty pathetic actually lol. Untidy, I can cope with, I don't cope well with chaos and destruction though lol. My stepsons were 2 & 5 when I met my husband, I'm not sure which was worse, their tantrums or mine    They are both mid 20's now so thankfully past the worst of it

If I self project onto my Quizzy, children perhaps but Ser Cullen will definately have to take the lead in raising them, I imagine her to be completely useless

OK, I warn you, this is literally a stream-of-thought rough draft. As usual, my PC name was picked randomly from my Russian English dictionary. And I tossed Josephine into the story since she's our one known non-combatant.

 

"Charge!"

Zima leaned over the map table, trying to locate Highever. “Josephine, where does that report say they were again?”

 

Josephine held up the parchment, turning it toward the candles to squint at the smeared ink, “The troops were last seen…” She broke off as shrill, excited voices rapidly grew louder from the hallway, turning to face the noise. Zima straightened, reaching for the bandolier with her knives, face alarmed as suddenly a dozen small children, human, elven, and dwarven, from toddlers to sturdy five and six year olds, burst through the doorway, led by a small child in a familiar lion helm and followed closely by…

 

“Cul…Commander? What’s going on?” Zima pulled her hand back from the bandolier, still staring at the tall blonde man, a smile tugging at the corner of his lips.

 

“Troops! Wait for the command to charge! Remember, we must rescue the Lady Josephine!” Josephine frowned, then realized that a slow grin of delight was spreading across the Inquisitor’s face as she saw the bread stick weapons each of the children carried, then Zima seized a long thin loaf of Orlesian bread, breaking it in half to wield one piece in each hand, stepping in front of Josephine to face them.

 

“Lady Josephine, behind me, I’ll protect you from these dangerous bandits with my last breath! For Clan Lavellan!”

 

She dropped into her fighting stance as Cullen roared, “Charge! Take down the vile creature holding our Lady captive!”

 

The mob of children charged forward, trying to manage war cries that sounded more like giggles, and the young Dalish woman dodged to one side, lightly tapping one child on the head with a loaf of bread, while gently whacking another on the side as they all giggled and yelled, “For the Lady Jospehine!” Within a few seconds, they had surrounded her and charged in, poking at her with their bread stick “swords”, then grabbing her hands and pulling her down, mobbing her under a giggling pile of children.

 

Zima “died” dramatically, dropping onto the floor of the war room, and crying out, “Run, my lady, they are too many for me, but I will cover your escape if I can!” then collapsing limply, eyes closed, “daggers” crossed on her chest. Josephine watched, hand over her mouth and eyes laughing as she looked across at Cullen, who was standing with his arms crossed in the doorway, one of the keep’s nursemaid standing behind him looking both amused and horrified at this treatment of the Herald of Andraste.

 

The Inquisitor lay perfectly still long enough for one of the youngest children to frown, leaning over to pull open one of her eyelids. “Inkistor?” she managed. Suddenly, Zima’s eyes pop opened, and she grabbed the small child to begin tickling her, grinning and laughing maniacally.

 

“Ah ha! I have fooled you all! I am really the wicked tickle monster from Nug marshes, and I have used your lady to lure you all in to be tickled!” She began darting toward one child after another, moving on her knees so she was almost the same height as they shrieked and ran screaming around the table trying to stay out of her reach, but also ducking back within arm’s reach as if daring her to grab them. Zima caught another child, tickling him just enough to make him shriek with laughter and squirm out of her grasp. By now, Josephine, Cullen, and the nursemaid were all openly laughing as Zima and the children kept the game up for several minutes. When the Inquisitor was thoroughly out of breath and red-faced, the nursemaid stepped into the room, calling the children.

 

“Now children, thank the Inquisitor and the Commander for a nice game, and let them go back to work.” Zima sank down to sit on the floor, laughing as several of the children paused to hug her before running toward the door. Cullen stopped the little girl with his helm long enough to reclaim his property, then crossed to offer Zima a hand up from the floor. Josephine just shook her head at them as Leliana entered the room behind Cullen.

 

“Commander, what inspired this?”

 

Cullen set his helm on the table as Zima smoothed her clothes and hair back into place. “The children were playing in the courtyard when a horse broke loose from a groom and almost ran through them. We caught the horse, but the children were so scared, I thought they needed something to distract them from their fear. Then I remembered a conversation the Inquisitor and I had while playing chess a few days ago and thought I’d kill two birds with one stone.”

 

Zima finished straightening her clothes, her face still lit by a broad grin, eyes shining at Cullen. “Yes, you asked me what I missed most about my clan, and I told you that it seemed so silent here because I almost never hear or see the children.” She glanced at Josephine almost shyly. “In a Dalish camp, there is always the noise of children-playing, laughing, chattering, fighting, and crying. And all of the children belong to the whole clan, so almost every day I could stop and play with the children, or even just hold a baby so parents could eat their meal.” She turned back to Cullen, gently resting a hand on his arm as she smiled up at him. “Thank you, Commander, you couldn’t have given me a better present.”

 

Cullen chuckled and covered her hand, “Inquisitor, your laugh was all the thanks I need.” Josephine exchanged a questioning look with Leliana who raised an eyebrow and pretended not to watch the two until suddenly Zima dropped her hand from his arm and turned back to the table abruptly. “I’m sorry Josephine, now where were we?”

WOW Someone definitely needs to become a parent!!

 

Children in general do not interest me, which is ironic considering my degree is in children's literature But I find the child mind and the childhood experience fascinating, which is why I love the literature and love exploring and theorizing about it. But as for actual children... I see them no differently than adults, really, although I may be more wary of being around them since they tend to smell and produce unpleasant vocalizations lol 

 

I do have a niece whom I adore, and I have a nephew on the way, so of course I make exceptions for these

Cassandra: She would wish for true love because she's a closet romantic.

Blackwall: He would wish for an end to darkspawn so that the Wardens could focus on other worthy and noble tasks.

Iron Bull: He would wish for an end to whatever caused his PTSD; perhaps he'd wish for that memory to vanish.

Varric: He would wish for Bianca's return.

Sera: She would wish for MONEY $$$

Cole: He would wish to be made into a real boy.

Dorian: He would wish for an end to corruption in Tevinter.

Solas: He would wish for understanding, the answer to some unanswerable question.

Vivienne: She would wish for power, the reinstatement of her old position and then some.

Cullen: He would wish for an end to the mage/templar conflict.

I've been reading your posts on the subject, and... get out of my head!  I married a guy who feels the same way, luckily.  And since I'm of a certain age now, people don't ask anymore when I'm having kids.  

 

Strangely enough, though, I have no problems picking up dog poop.  Not with my bare hands, of course, but something about human poop gives me the willies.

I leave the thread for like, a couple of minutes and everyone starts saying the best things...  THIS IS WHY I LOVE THIS THREAD. Also... this waiting thing... I am so over it. I feel like I've shown up early to a dinner party, and I'm sitting at a dinner table with a full table setting and knife and fork in hand, and entirely alone. Not in the literal sense, like I'm the only one waiting, but like I arrived a decade early or something.... is the DAI fully cooked yet?

My hubby already had two boys, he would have liked a baby with me but he supported and understood my decision, it was thankfully never an issue for us .

 

Lol, hubby has to do that job too, I just can't do it I remember when I was younger and stayed with my parents, as a family we got a puppy....if I was first home and the puppy had done anything on the floor, the best I could do was put a sheet of kitchen towel over it as a warning to others and then leave it for my parents to deal with lol.

BUT - on the other hand...

 

I feel like I've been waiting for. ever. and now we're in the home stretch. I've started out weeks thinkin', Holy Maker! I can't stand this waiting... waiting... waiting.... Before I hardly have time to compute it, the torturous week is already gone and it's that much closer! It'll be over before we know it and it'll be in our hands and we'll be squee-ing, saving Thedas as we swoon and coo all over CULLEN! 

 

It's going to be worth it - I just know it!

 

(Besides, life is getting a bit crazy for me atm, and I'm thankful to have the time to get things in order before I park my butt in front of this. I don't know about anyone else, but I can't hardly let go of DA once I start it! And I'm gonna be soaking up every little bit of this thing! )

Agree! A little variation:

 

Cullen would wish that this time, he won't let things screw up while he watch, he will do something about all that happens and actually be a part of the solution

Leliana (on my World State version) would wish to see her lover (the Amell Warden) once more time, since she'll be going through her calling very soon...

Varric would wish to see Bianca once again, and have his life back in Kirkwall with Hawke and company. They are all person that really matters in his life
